Chapter 397: Chapter 295: Arrival_2
Mova maintained her polite smile. After speaking, she turned and slowly departed, her short skirt swaying gracefully.
She took the other three flight attendants with her.
Now that only Feng Shan’s group of four remained in the cabin, they could finally relax.
Once the cabin was empty of everyone but their own people,
Feng Shan leaned out from his seat, a curious expression on his face as he looked over at Yves in the booth.
"Hey, Yves, you know how to fly one of these things?"
Yves paused at Feng Shan’s question, then quickly waved his hands dismissively. "With a little training, probably. Boss, you’re not actually thinking of buying a Gulfstream G650, are you? Our airport can’t handle its takeoffs and landings. Besides, the maintenance costs are insane—several million a year. There’s just no need."
Director Roland, who was sitting nearby, overheard them. His eyes lit up with anticipation as he seized the opportunity to pitch his movie project again. Hoping Feng Shan might reconsider and agree to invest, he quickly chimed in.
"That’s right, Feng. There’s really no point in buying a plane like this. If you have that kind of money, you’d be better off investing in my film. The return is much higher than buying a plane, and it’s a sure thing."
"When did I say I was buying a plane? I was just asking!" Feng Shan retorted irritably, shooting a disdainful look at Director Roland.
’That son of a bitch. Always trying to get me to invest.’
’I’d rather burn my money as an offering to God than invest it in a movie.’
This Gulfstream G650 truly lived up to its reputation as one of the fastest private jets in the world, flying smoothly and at high speed through the sky.
After seven hours, it had crossed the United States and arrived over Baird Town.
Looking down from the airplane’s window, one could see Baird Town’s well-arranged buildings, intersecting streets, and the pastoral scenery surrounding it. The entire town was bathed in sunlight, presenting a scene of peace and tranquility.
Yves’s eyes were glued to the window, gazing intently at the familiar town below—the hometown he had longed for day and night.
Seeing the familiar trees, plants, streets, and alleys, a powerful wave of homesickness washed over him. His mind filled with images of his wife’s smile and his child’s adorable face.
The thought of seeing them so soon made an irrepressible excitement surge within him. His body began to tremble slightly, and his eyes grew a little misty.
"Easy, man. Calm down." Nash noticed Yves’s emotional state and offered a quiet reminder.
Just then,
Mova gently opened the door to the crew’s quarters and stepped gracefully into the main cabin.
She walked up to Feng Shan, gave a slight bow, and said softly with a professional smile on her face.
"Mr. Feng, the plane will be landing at Baird City Airport shortly. The temperature outside is 15 degrees Celsius. I’ve already booked a Chevrolet Suburban for you. The car will be here to pick you up after we land, which should make your travel more convenient."
"Okay, thank you!" Feng Shan was quite pleased. ’I can’t believe how thoughtful this woman is,’ he thought, impressed that she had even arranged for a car in advance. He couldn’t help but appreciate Mova’s service.
Seeing that Feng Shan was satisfied, Mova’s smile deepened. She continued, "It’s my honor to serve you. May I ask if you’ll be staying here for a few days or returning today? I need to coordinate with the airport about the relevant arrangements."
"We’re heading back today. We’re just here to pick someone up," Feng Shan said succinctly. The purpose of this trip to Baird City was just to pick someone up; he planned to return as soon as their business was done and had no intention of staying long.
"I understand. I wish you a pleasant journey." After receiving a clear answer, Mova politely stood up and left to coordinate the deplaning and vehicle pickup with the flight crew.
Feng Shan, meanwhile, continued to watch quietly through the large window as the plane slowly descended, the ground drawing ever closer, until the aircraft came to a smooth stop on the runway.
This so-called airport in Baird Town was pitifully small.
As far as the eye could see, the entire airport had only two runways, and they didn’t look very wide. Compared to the grand and spacious runways of Fairbanks International Airport, it was completely dwarfed in comparison.
The terminal building was even more simplistic, to the point of being crude. It was actually just a few shipping containers pieced together, giving it a very temporary, slapped-together feel.
But even though the airport was small, the landing of the luxurious and impressive Gulfstream G650 still attracted a lot of attention. A few people were standing by the side of the runway, their eyes glued to the aircraft. They pointed at the G650, their faces filled with curiosity and amazement.
They probably didn’t see such a high-end private jet in this small town very often.
At the same time, a black SUV slowly drove into the runway waiting area and stopped smoothly beside the plane.
The cabin door opened slowly. Mova and the three beautiful flight attendants stood neatly in the aisle, all wearing polite smiles, and gave Feng Shan’s group a slight bow in farewell.
"Mr. Feng, I wish you the best with everything," Mova said softly, her voice full of sincerity.
"Thank you!" Feng Shan returned the smile.
After disembarking from the plane, the group walked toward the black SUV.
A young man got out of the black SUV. He was wearing a worn-out denim outfit, but it exuded a unique retro charm, strongly evoking a Western style.
He had brown hair and a bright red scarf wrapped around his neck, which fluttered gently in the breeze. His getup made him look exactly like a typical Western cowboy.
"Hey, fellas, you the ones who booked the car?" the young, brown-haired cowboy asked with a grin, revealing a set of pearly white teeth. However, his smile seemed to hold a hint of slyness.
"My God, booking a car all the way from Alaska to Baird. You guys must be loaded."
"Just so we’re clear, I charge by the hour. Even if you go to the bathroom, the meter’s running."
"Fine," Feng Shan replied flatly.
He couldn’t be bothered to chat with this kind of person. Based on past experience, once you engaged them, they would talk nonstop. He was just like Feng Jun; once that Pandora’s box of conversation was opened, it was hard to shut. Feng Shan had no desire to waste his time listening to him ramble.
Yves, however, looked serious. His vigilant gaze swept over the young, brown-haired man before he spoke.
"Are you carrying any weapons? I need to inspect the vehicle."
"Fuck, are you guys with the FBI?" The young cowboy froze when he heard this, then subconsciously took a step back, a hint of displeasure on his face as he grumbled a complaint.
But after a moment’s thought, probably for the sake of the high rental fee, he reluctantly spread his arms, did a full turn, and said,
"I’m not carrying any weapons, relax!"
"Sorry," Yves said, stepping forward. He then patted down the young cowboy. After confirming he wasn’t armed, he turned and nodded at Feng Shan.
Seeing this, the young cowboy lowered the hands he had been holding up, muttering under his breath about how hard it was to earn money these days and why they had to get so worked up over a simple car rental.
Then, he nimbly slipped into the driver’s seat, pulled the door shut, and leaned back out the window, half-jokingly saying to the group,
"Hey, fellas, Baird is a simple town with simple folk. The people here are very down-to-earth."
Yves ignored him. He walked to the back of the car, opened the rear door, and politely gestured for Feng Shan, Nash, and Director Roland to get in. Only after they were seated did he get into the front passenger seat.
The back seat was spacious; even with three adult men, it wasn’t crowded at all.
As soon as he settled into the passenger seat, Yves casually asked,
"Is that so? Is Black Eye still in town?"
The moment the young cowboy heard Yves mention that name, he perked up. Starting the car, he began to chatter away, "He had a rough time four years ago. Someone broke both his legs, then his own men sold him out. Got sent to prison to drop the soap."
After saying this, the young cowboy seemed to remember something. He suddenly turned his head and stared intently at Yves for a long time, a puzzled look on his face. After a moment’s hesitation, he asked quietly, "Are you... Triangle-Pants?"
In the back seat, Feng Shan, who had been looking at the town’s scenery outside the window, instinctively turned to look at Yves when he heard the question.
’I can’t believe the number one veteran of the Crown Territory has such a badass nickname.’
