Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Healing Touch

SONIA’S POV

I had asked to be brought to a garden to test the water. I needed to be far away from all the noise, pain, and distraction at the clinic. The morning air here felt cleaner, lighter, carrying the sweet scent of blooming flowers and fresh earth.

In twenty four hours of working there, I had quickly learnt that healing at intervals was not the same thing as constant healing. So much virtue had left my body. My wolf was weak, she needed to recuperate.

Still, it was a new day. I knew I needed to get this test done with, and give the result to Alpha Ramon. I was waiting for the first morning sun to hit the water, after adding a few things to it. Its colour would determine the state.

The small bowl sat on a flat stone, the liquid inside still and clear for now. I used the opportunity to walk around the garden a bit. Soft grass brushed against my ankles as I moved, and the gentle breeze played with the hem of my dress.

I stopped to sniff some flowers from time to time. The smile that left my face at every sniff was really genuine. It was all because I felt refreshed. Ivy had lent me one of her gowns, after she insisted on returning to her old room to get some dresses.

The fabric was soft and light against my skin, a simple pale blue that swayed with each step. She wasn’t fully recovered. Okay, maybe she was. But I wanted to observe her a little, before she began to work again. But knowing Ivy, she was a sucker for working. You couldn’t keep her off it.

I was hoping Alpha Ramon could finally believe I was a healer, after seeing Ivy who he so deeply cared about. I no longer felt a pang of jealousy when I thought of their relationship.

It couldn’t be anything more than the fact he respected her because of how hardworking she was. Who in their right minds wouldn’t like Ivy? Maybe Lorena. Truthfully, she wasn’t in her right mind.

My skin started to heat up, and I swiftly turned. The sun was forming. Golden light spilled across the garden, warming the leaves and making the dew sparkle. I ran to the water, and true to my prediction, it changed its colour, and began to bubble.

The liquid turned a faint, unnatural shade, small bubbles rising to the surface with a soft hiss. That was all I needed. The pack doctor had insisted I brought with me a rodent for my little experiment. I just couldn’t do it. They were too tiny and cute. Anyway, I knew for a fact the water was poisoned. And whoever didn’t believe could try it for themselves.

Gathering my things, I quickly turned around, and came face to face with Alpha Ramon. The bag in my hand slipped out of my hold, and dropped to the ground with a soft thud. My heart skipped a beat, and my nipples instantly hardened. All of these reactions happened in a split second.

In the next second, he was within me. Tilting my head to the side, and kissing me like the world was going to end. His lips were warm and urgent, tasting faintly of the morning air and something deeper that made my knees weak. The garden around us seemed to fade, the scent of flowers mixing with his familiar sandalwood warmth.

He withdrew almost immediately, and I blinked, utterly discombobulated. My lips still tingled, swollen and sensitive from the sudden kiss.

"Do you have the results with you?" He cleared his throat, pretending that the last minute did not just occur. His voice was rough, a little unsteady.

I looked into his eyes, and saw a vulnerability. He looked tired. Like he didn’t have a wink of sleep all night. Dark circles shadowed his eyes, and his usual sharp gaze was dulled with exhaustion. I barely did myself, between handling patients, and trying to keep them from screaming the roofs up. But in the early hours of the morning, I did manage to squeeze in three hours of rest.

I wasn’t completely functioning on high energy. However, the dress Ivy gave me was a really big booster. The soft fabric moved lightly against my skin, giving me a small sense of confidence.

"You’re tired," I couldn’t stop myself from observing out loud. The words slipped out before I could hold them back.

"Why do you say that?" He asked, after a few seconds of blankly staring at me. His brow furrowed slightly, as if surprised I had noticed.

"Your eyes. I have something for them, if you’ll just let me—" I allowed my words to trail as I turned around, and began to search for a herb I had seen in the garden.

A while ago, back in my pack, I had seen our pack doctor heal with that herb. Later, I had Freya smuggle me out of my room to see him. He explained that it was also a beautifier, and helped with dark and red circles around the eyes.

"Found you!" I blurted, rejoicing in my heart when I saw the green beauty. The leaf was soft and vibrant under my fingers. I plucked just one leaf, and began to rub it in my hand. Soon, its juices began to pour, cool and slightly sticky against my palm.

I hurried back to where the alpha stood, and thankfully, he was still waiting for me.

"Uhmm, what exactly are you doing?" He asked as I stood before him. His voice held a note of caution, but he didn’t pull away.

"Shhhh, this may sting." I warned gently.

His face wrinkled, as if to say I had lost my mind. I fully expected him to step away, or toss my hand to the side for daring to even help him. But when I began to apply the juice to the affected part, and he just stood there without moving, my chest began to spread in euphoria. The juice felt cool at first, then a mild tingling spread across his skin as it soaked in. I kept on blowing softly on it, my breath warm against his face, until it dried up and blended into his skin.

A smile formed on my face right after. "There, all done." I dusted my hand, and was about to relax my toes, when his hand wrapped around my waist, and he pulled me into his body. The sudden closeness made my heart race, his heat enveloping me completely. His scent surrounded me, strong and familiar.

"You’ve done what you want to do right?" He asked in a hoarse voice. His breath brushed against my lips, sending a shiver through me.

"Ye– yeah," I stuttered, confused as to why he was being so touchy. My hands rested lightly on his chest, feeling the steady thump of his heartbeat under my palms.

"It’s my turn," he said, and kissed me again.

I didn’t expect that, so it took a few seconds for what we were doing to register in my head. When it finally did, I threw my hand around his neck, and leaned into his body. His hand moved from my waist, down to my butt. He cupped it, and began to rub it gently. The touch was firm yet careful, sending sparks of heat through me. I didn’t want him to end there. My core was crying out for some attention.

A shudder ran through me when he grabbed my tongue and sucked on it. He applied more pressure, until I was whimpering uncontrollably. The sound escaped me softly, needy and breathless. "I’m so hard, Sonia," he stopped to say. His voice was rough with desire, sending another wave of heat through my body.

I didn’t know what came over me, but I knew what I was supposed to do. My knees dropped to the ground in front of him. I didn’t see the startled expression on his eyes, but I could tell from the way he jerked. Using my hands filled with the juice from the herb, I found his hardness, and brought it out.

"Sonia!" He threw his head back and screamed my name, when I put it into my mouth.
