Chapter 124: Chapter 104: Powerful Equipment, Marching to the Odoche Region

Bain and Claude followed close behind, and Ailia came out as well, eager to witness the spectacle of Henry testing his battle axe.

Henry scanned his surroundings, his gaze finally settling on a large tree with a trunk a man could barely wrap his arms around.

These large trees had been left to mark the spacing for the camp’s palisade. Now, they were perfect for testing the axe’s cutting power.

The five Knight’s Squires, among them Selas and Roland, also emerged from their tents and headed over.

They had always known Henry was strong, but they never imagined he was *this* powerful. Witnessing his terrifying dominance on the battlefield firsthand had left them in profound awe.

Before, their only desire had been to earn a title or a plot of land from Henry to continue their family lines.

Now, they wanted to follow Henry’s footsteps and wage campaigns in every direction!

Henry focused, feeling the power within the battle axe resonating with his will.

He slowly raised the battle axe. The crowd of onlookers instinctively held their breath, waiting for what was to come.

’What’s he going to do? Cut down the tree?’ Bain ventured a bold guess.

Henry swung the battle axe down in a fierce arc. The blade whistled through the air. Under its strike, the great tree split apart as easily as if it were tofu.

CRACK—THOOM!

The great tree crashed to the ground. A collective gasp of amazement erupted from the watching soldiers, who were stunned by the battle axe’s might.

Bain, Claude, and the others stared, dumbfounded. They had never witnessed such astonishing strength.

At this point, they no longer cared how sharp the enormous battle axe was. What they wanted to know was just how strong Henry truly was!

Henry paused. He could feel that the power within the axe had been fully unleashed and was now gradually replenishing itself.

Bain and Claude exchanged a look, seeing the same shock and bewilderment reflected in each other’s eyes.

’It’s one thing for the Lord to train soldiers so quickly, but for his personal combat strength to be this monstrous?’

Bain quietly led the other Attendants over to inspect the fallen tree.

Henry, for his part, returned to his tent and effortlessly lifted the massive suit of armor. It was as if the gear became as light as a feather only in his hands; its actual weight hadn’t changed at all.

He ordered his soldiers to place the armor in an open space and surround it with a ring of sandbags to prevent stray weapon fragments from causing any unnecessary injuries.

A single soldier was completely unable to lift the black armor. In the end, it took four men just to move it.

Henry summoned several of his most outstanding officers, including a Swordsman, a spearman, a Scout, and an archer. They were to use their own weapons to attack the armor.

Henry’s armory was now extremely well-stocked. Each infantry unit was composed of fifty saber-and-shield soldiers, twenty spearmen or Axe and Spear Soldiers, thirty sword-and-shield soldiers, and twenty Axe-Wielding Warriors.

Most soldiers were also equipped with Javelins, One-Handed Staves, or Nail Head Hammers.

Typically, a small combat group of twelve could be formed from five saber-and-shield soldiers, two spearmen or Axe and Spear Soldiers, three sword-and-shield soldiers, and two Axe-Wielding Warriors.

Henry first had a Swordsman step forward. This Swordsman was a renowned strongman in the Skilled Infantry Team and also served as the team’s Deputy Captain.

He gripped his Long Sword, took a deep breath, and then swung fiercely at the Chest Armor.

The instant the blade met the armor, a sharp clang of metal on metal rang out and sparks flew, but not a single scratch was left on the armor.

The Skilled Infantry blinked, feeling the shock reverberate up his arm. In disbelief, he struck twice more. Not even a faint white line was left on the armor; instead, his own Imperial Heavy Sword was now nicked.

Next, a Skilled Spearman stepped forward. He aimed for the helmet, which was adorned with the horns of some unknown creature, and thrust with all his might. The spearhead slammed into the helmet with a dull thud, but the helmet remained completely unscathed. Not even a small dent had appeared.

Huh? The Skilled Spearman stared wide-eyed, finding this hard to accept. Just last night during the battle, he had used this very spear to pierce through the heavy Zha Armor of a Shield Brotherhood Mercenary!

Finally, Henry had a Veteran Shooter get ready. The archer drew the string of his prairie warbow, nocked a Tipped Arrow, took aim at the armor’s surface, and released.

The arrow whistled through the air towards the armor, but the instant it made contact, it was simply deflected, clattering to the ground. The armor’s surface remained as smooth as ever.

The onlooking soldiers gasped in amazement, stunned by the armor’s defensive capabilities. If a man went into battle wearing a suit like that, wouldn’t he be able to just cut down everyone in his path?

Bain was effusive in his praise for the armor’s defenses. "My Lord, with this suit of armor, you will be unrivaled on the battlefield!"

Claude added, "Yes, not only will this armor protect you, but when the men see you wearing such incredible protection, they will fight all the more fiercely!"

"My Lord, this armor is indeed beyond belief, but it’s far too heavy. It takes four soldiers just to lift it. You’ll tire out easily on the battlefield."

Amid the chorus of praise, a dissenting voice suddenly cut in. Everyone turned to see it was Roland who had spoken.

Henry just smiled faintly. With an elegant motion, he effortlessly lifted the heavy black armor with a single hand. To the astonished stares of the crowd, he had Bain go and fetch a padded jacket for it.

Henry slipped into a specially made, thickened suit of Armored Clothing. This garment not only provided extra cushioning but also added to his bulk, making him look even taller and more formidable.
