Chapter 123: Chapter 103: Huh? A Blessing, For Real?
Just when Henry thought he had gone too far, a suit of armor and a great axe appeared before him.
Henry looked at the gigantic set of equipment, knowing it was a blessing from one of the great Holy Spirits.
’But... isn’t this a bit too big? How am I supposed to wear it? Huh? Why does it hurt a little?’
Henry felt his body, or perhaps his soul, begin to swell. The growth was somewhat painful.
Just then, a beam of sunlight pierced through the red radiance and shone upon Henry.
A warm and familiar power surged into Henry’s soul and body. Under the "sunlight’s" illumination, the red figure gradually dissipated, and Henry’s soul regained its freedom.
After the light vanished, Henry picked up the massive armor and weapon and returned to his tent. He couldn’t feel the weight of the armor or the axe; they were as light as a leaf in his hands.
As Henry’s soul slowly returned to his body, he felt a sense of clarity he had never experienced before.
His consciousness sharpened from a blur into focus, like waking from a deep dream. He opened his eyes, and the sight of the tent’s ceiling left him in a bit of a daze.
He tried to sit up but found he needed a moment before he could manage it.
A new power flowed through his body, accompanied by a strange sensation. He felt himself growing taller and stronger.
Henry slowly stood up. His head nearly touched the top of the tent, forcing him to stoop slightly to avoid hitting it.
He walked out of the tent. The sunlight that fell upon him was warm and comfortable, and nothing strange appeared.
Henry took a deep breath. The fresh air filled his lungs, and he felt as if he could smell every subtle nuance in the air.
He looked around and found his field of vision had widened, and distant scenery had become much clearer.
Henry looked down at his own Two Hands. They had become thicker, the joints of his fingers more pronounced.
He walked over to a nearby water bucket, opened the lid, and his reflection appeared on the surface of the water.
He could barely recognize himself. Not only had his height increased, but even his bone structure seemed a size larger. His muscles were well-defined, exuding a sense of power.
He tried swinging his arm and felt an unprecedented surge of strength.
’By the standards of the Northern Lands, I guess I’m considered tall now.’
Henry thought of the Free People, who struggled just to get by and were only around 1.6 or 1.7 meters tall, and couldn’t help but shake his head.
’I’ll be drawing stares from everyone whenever I go out from now on.’
Henry pulled up his status panel and found he was only four hundred experience points away from leveling up. The thought was agonizing; if he’d known, he would have killed the leader of the Green Forest Brotherhood himself.
’Strength twenty-six, an increase of two. Endurance twenty, a growth of two. Hiss... Not bad, not bad at all. An extra bonus.’
"Lord, you were only asleep for a little while?"
"Ah, I was a bit thirsty, so I came out for a drink of water."
Henry closed the lid on the water bucket and went back inside the tent. Ailia watched his retreating figure, feeling that something was strange.
’Did the Lord get taller again?’
"Why is this chair so small?"
Henry shifted his rear, feeling cramped. Resting his head on his Two Hands, he recalled what had just happened.
’The red figure who gave me the weapons... that must have been Khorne. And the golden light that came after, its power was identical to last time. Could it be him?’
’No, that can’t be right. What kind of world did I transmigrate into? How could he be here?’ Henry pondered for a long time but couldn’t find an answer. He hadn’t even expected Khorne to actually give him weapons and armor.
He wasn’t concerned about whether Khorne’s blessing would cause him to undergo some inhuman transformation.
For him, slaughtering his way through the world was just a matter of sooner or later, faster or slower. It would be better if he could maintain his human form, but he could accept it if he couldn’t.
What’s that? You say others won’t be able to accept it? Then they can become skulls.
Henry’s gaze drifted around the tent, finally settling on the gigantic armor and great axe in the corner. He remembered picking them up after the golden light had faded.
He walked over to inspect the equipment carefully.
The surface of the gigantic armor seemed to emit a faint glow. It was engraved with complex runes and patterns, including a large X and a carved skull.
The great axe lay silently beside the armor, its blade sharp and its handle similarly carved with strange markings. Henry reached out and gently touched the edge of the armor, feeling the blessing from the great Holy Spirit.
He took a deep breath and began to try on the armor. Henry let out a soft "huh?" of surprise, realizing the armor’s weight seemed to vanish the moment he touched it. He easily donned each piece of equipment.
Every piece of the armor fit his body perfectly, as if it had been custom-made for him.
Next, Henry picked up the great axe. The instant his hand closed around the haft, he felt a surge of power course from it through his entire body. The great axe felt exceptionally light in his hand, like an extension of his own body.
He swung the great axe once. The blade cut through the air with a low WHOOSH.
Henry stood in the center of the tent, fully clad in the blessed armor and holding the great axe. His figure looked exceptionally tall and imposing within the tent.
Henry felt that if he were to fight now, he wouldn’t even need a horse. He could feel the immense power in his legs. Wearing this suit of armor, he would dare challenge a Minotaur to an Iron Mountain Lean!
He turned and saw Ailia carrying his lunch, looking at him with an expression mixing astonishment and awe.
"Are you going to feed me my lunch today?"
Ailia froze for a moment before snapping out of it. "Lord, you... you look like a Warrior from a Minstrel’s tale."
Henry smiled. "Perhaps. But regardless, I feel fantastic right now."
Henry took off the armor and carefully placed it back in the corner. He was struck by an unprecedented hunger, a hunger that felt like it could devour everything.
Ailia went over to help, but found the armor’s weight was beyond her imagination and gave up on the idea of helping him arrange it.
"Ailia, what’s for lunch today? I’m feeling incredibly hungry," Henry asked, a hint of anticipation in his voice.
"Lord, today’s lunch is roast beef, roast chicken, a fresh vegetable salad, and some bread."
Henry nodded, but he also realized this amount of food was far from enough to satisfy his appetite.
He began to wolf down his food. Piece after piece of beef and chicken vanished into his mouth, and he quickly polished off the bread and vegetable salad as well.
Ailia stood to the side, watching Henry eat with her jaw agape. She had never seen him eat so much food, and it looked like he still wasn’t full.
"Lord, do... do you need more?" Ailia stammered.
Henry nodded. "Of course. Have Orianna prepare some more food. I’ll probably need double the portion."
Ailia stared at Henry in shock, then hurried back to the kitchen to have Orianna start preparing more food.
A short while later, she returned with more roast meat, roast chicken, and bread for Henry. He began to feast again, his appetite seemingly without limit.
Just then, Claude and Bain walked in. The moment they saw Henry, they were stunned by his current appearance.
Henry wasn’t just taller; sitting in the chair, he looked like a small mountain. His clothes also seemed extremely tight, revealing the clear definition of his muscles underneath.
Bain couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration, "Lord, for any enemy to die by your hand would be their honor."
Bain’s gaze was soon drawn to the gigantic armor and battle-axe nearby. He walked over to the armor and carefully examined the runes and patterns on it.
"This equipment is incredible. It looks very special," Bain marveled.
Henry nodded. "Yes, Bain. They are very special. Only a true Warrior can wield them."
He continued eating until his hunger was finally sated.
"Alright, what did you two want to talk to me about?"
"Lord, after continuous marching and fighting, our army needs a day of rest. We can’t set out again until tomorrow. Though the soldiers’ morale is high, their bodies also need to recover."
Henry nodded. "Bain, let the soldiers rest. Give them extra rations tonight. It’s not like we’re short on military supplies anymore."
Claude then reported, "Lord, the enemy’s heads have been piled up as you commanded. We have displayed them around the camp.
Furthermore, I suggest we wait for the Grassland Warriors and serfs to arrive before we advance further. They can ease the pressure on our logistics personnel and also give our soldiers time to rest and reorganize."
"Your advice is sound, Claude. Pass down the order to reinforce the camp’s defenses. We may be stationed here for the next few days.
Oh, and have Philip pay attention to the sanitation issues regarding the soldiers’ waste."
Ailia quietly observed Henry from the side. She could feel the leadership and thoughtful decisiveness emanating from him.
Ailia still remembered the day she was hired by Henry. It was a world away from the current situation.
"Lord, have you used this battle-axe before? Do you want to try it out?"
Both Bain and Claude overlooked one question: where did this armor and weapon come from?
They didn’t care. Henry was their lord. If he said the moon rose during the day and the sun rose at night, they would wholeheartedly agree.
Henry walked over, picked up the battle-axe, and said, "I actually haven’t used it. Why not give it a try?"
"Try it!"
Henry was amused by Bain’s eagerness. It made sense. A battle-axe this enormous, bigger even than an Execution Axe, would naturally make one curious about its power.
Holding the giant battle-axe with Two Hands, Henry walked out of the tent to an open area outside the camp.
The soldiers on patrol and changing guard duty noticed Henry’s actions and looked over curiously.
’What is the Lord doing? Why is he carrying such a huge battle-axe?’
