Chapter 984: Chapter 54: Demon Summoning_5

At this moment, the spells of the six Old Magicians had been completed, and massive magical energies of different colors enveloped the Bone Dragon and the black hexagram like layers of barriers. The Dark Creatures that had emerged earlier instantly turned to ash in the face of the powerful magic. However, what astounded the other magicians was that the enormous Bone Dragon seemed unaffected by the magic, except for some trouble caused by the Earth Magic’s fissure and rock surge; otherwise, none of the other spells had any effect on its white skeleton.

The Bone Dragon seemed to have been angered by the magic, its body suddenly lashing sideways, its bone wings, though unable to lift it into flight, flapping incessantly. Its massive tail swept towards the wall, and with a thunderous crash, a section of the Mage Guild’s barrier-protected wall collapsed. Fortunately, the Guild had two courtyards, or the passersby would have been scared to death by the Bone Dragon’s terrifying appearance.

Ah Dai, who was stuck in the roof, had somewhat recovered. He struggled to free himself when suddenly, he felt the Dragon’s Blood in his chest stir and tremble continuously. Realizing this was a sign of Sheng Xie’s awakening, he clearly understood that he had nearly lost his ability to fight after the Bone Dragon’s sneak attack. Perhaps only Sheng Xie could help. Suffering from the heavy blow, Ah Dai did not think of the amazement Sheng Xie’s appearance might cause the mages present and resolutely recited the spell of Dragon’s Blood.

A blue ghostly light emerged from Ah Dai’s chest, followed by a loud and clear Dragon’s Roar. The Bone Dragon paused, looking up in Ah Dai’s direction, when a huge gray shadow plummeted from the sky and with a thunderous boom, knocked the Bone Dragon flying into the center of the hall. This imposing gray shadow was none other than Sheng Xie. Sheng Xie’s appearance had changed once again after having consumed the inner core of the millennia-old spirit snake. Its scales shimmered with a silvery-gray light, gaining an extra layer of luster compared to before, its body over four meters long, with vast wings unfurled, and the seven golden spines on its back were now even bulkier, emitting cold light from its golden eyes. Having a contract of equals with Ah Dai and sharing a spiritual connection, it naturally knew the Bone Dragon was the assailant who had severely injured Ah Dai. It gazed down with immense pressure and anger at the Bone Dragon, now scattered in disarray.

Adult dragons typically measure over fifteen meters in length, so this seven-meter-plus long Bone Dragon was merely the skeleton of a young dragon that had died and was invaded by a soul from the Dark Demon Realm, which is why it retained formidable strength. Although it had lost consciousness, the dragon’s instincts made it acutely aware of the power of the dragon in front of it. Its massive skeleton shook with fear, not daring to advance.

All the magicians were stunned, watching in bewilderment as the two formidable creatures faced off. Sheng Xie cared not what the opponent was; Ah Dai was the being closest to it, and harming Ah Dai was equivalent to harming itself. Giving an enraged roar to the heavens, Sheng Xie suddenly dashed forward, aiming straight for the Bone Dragon. As the Bone Dragon had lost its flesh and possessed only average physical attack ability and very strong magical resistance, its speed could not compare to Sheng Xie’s. After consuming the spirit snake’s inner core, Sheng Xie’s strength had increased significantly. Despite being smaller in size than the Bone Dragon, it was no less powerful, clamping its jaws on a bone in the Bone Dragon’s chest, yanking it with force, lifting the Bone Dragon and then tossing it aside. The bone Sheng Xie had bitten was now broken. Its golden eyes emitted two faint beams of golden light, and Holy Lightnings shot out, accurately hitting the green lights within the frightened skulls of the Bone Dragon. Divine Energy was precisely the bane of Dark Creatures like the Bone Dragon. The Bone Dragon let out a pitiful scream, its body violently convulsing. The Soul Energy within its head was the foundation of its physical support, and having suffered a heavy blow, its entire body began shaking uncontrollably. It curled up, its previous arrogance disappeared, bowing its head and not daring to look at Sheng Xie, resembling a pitiful creature awaiting its demise.
