Chapter 860: Chapter 29 The Killer Revealed_4

Ah Dai walked back to Xuan Yue’s side, and Xuan Yue whispered, "What, is he still feeling bad?"

Ah Dai nodded, saying, "Yan Shi and his wife really love each other deeply! I’m afraid it will take some time for him to recover. We need to take good care of him."

Xuan Yue handed a few steamed buns to Ah Dai, saying, "Here, eat these. I just gave some to everyone."

Ah Dai was startled and asked, "When did you make these steamed buns? How come I didn’t see you?"

Xuan Yue giggled and said, "Don’t you remember I was the last one to get off the wagon? Oh, that’s right! If there’s a chance, I’ll teach you the basic methods of using Dragon’s Blood. That way, you can carry steamed buns yourself and won’t have to bother me. However, when you use Dragon’s Blood, you should still avoid others; after all, it is a divine artifact." After coming out from the Pu Yan tribe, Xuan Yue had discarded the hierarchical views she once had towards Ah Dai. Whenever she thought of how Ah Dai protected her in the temple, a smile would inevitably appear on her face. She found that her fondness for the silly Ah Dai was growing deeper.

Ah Dai took a bite of the steamed bun and said, "Great! I also want to know what Dragon’s Blood is used for. You can tell me now."

Xuan Yue glanced at Moon Scar and the others resting nearby and whispered, "I can teach you, but you have to tell me what that evil thing inside you is," as Pu Lin the Prophet had mentioned.

Ah Dai’s heart jolted, shaking his head with some difficulty, he said, "It’s better you don’t know about it. Maybe you’ll see it yourself someday."

Xuan Yue pouted and protested, "No, I want you to tell me now. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone else. I promise."

Xuan Yue’s feigned anger was exceptionally charming, causing Ah Dai to be momentarily entranced. He murmured, "Will you really not tell anyone? Including your father?"

Xuan Yue solemnly nodded and said, "Talk now, my words are always reliable. I know that thing you have is unspeakable. I promise not to tell anyone, including people within the church. Is that fine? Whisper it to me."

The experiences in Tilu Temple had profoundly changed Ah Dai’s impression of Xuan Yue; subconsciously, he had begun to consider her his best friend. He cautiously looked around and whispered, "This sword was passed down to me by my uncle. He told me not to tell anyone because it’s incredibly evil. It’s called the Sword of Hades."

Xuan Yue was shocked hearing about the Sword of Hades and exclaimed loudly, "What? Hade—," but Ah Dai quickly covered her mouth. Anxiously, he said, "What are you doing? We agreed you wouldn’t say it."

The astonishment in Xuan Yue’s eyes gradually faded; she pointed at the hand Ah Dai used to cover her mouth. Realizing the warmth and slipperiness beneath his hand, Ah Dai noticed how elastic Xuan Yue’s skin was, especially her rosy, delicate cheeks and moist lips. He blushed fiercely, quickly letting go and said awkwardly, "Sorry, Yue Yue."

Xuan Yue breathed heavily a few times and complained, "How annoying, were you trying to suffocate me?"

Their commotion attracted attention. Miao Fei looked on with a tinge of jealousy and said, "Ah Dai, don’t bully Sister Xuan Yue, or we won’t let you off."

Yue Ji laughed and teased, "Miao Fei, what does their flirting have to do with you? Are you jealous?"

Xuan Yue’s cheeks flushed, and she thumped Ah Dai as she said, "It’s all your fault, they are making fun of us. You owe me; how are you going to compensate me?"

The naive Ah Dai looked at Xuan Yue wide-eyed, saying, "I, I’m already your follower, what more do you want me to do?"

Wan Li laughed heartily and said, "You could just give yourself to her."

Xuan Yue’s face turned crimson, and she scolded Wan Li, "Look at you, making fun of me," while she waved her magic wand, and a small orb of light shot towards Wan Li like lightning. Wan Li was just about to defend himself when the orb exploded near him, creating a small crater in the ground and showering him with dirt and grass. Startled, Wan Li quickly tried to appease her with a grin, "Miss Mage, I was wrong, I won’t do it again. Ah Dai, you better make it up to her fast, or she might lose it."

Ah Dai gave a wry smile and said, "I really can’t help it! I don’t know what else I could offer."

Xuan Yue huffed and said, "If you don’t know now, just owe it to me for now, and we’ll settle it when I think of something." After speaking, she pulled Ah Dai beside her and lowered her voice, "Was what you just told me true? Do you really have the Sword of Hades?"

Ah Dai instinctively touched his chest and nodded, "Yes! It was left to me by my uncle."

Although Xuan Yue was young, she had heard of the tales of Hades Sword Technique: Heaven Earth Shaker and Hades Sword Technique: Spirit Shock. Although the church had never encountered the legendary top assassin ’Nether King,’ the Pope had long decreed that if church personnel discovered the whereabouts of the ’Nether King’, information was to be reported immediately to the church. Her father had once told her, the most terrifying thing in the Assassin’s Guild wasn’t the mysterious guild leader but the ’Nether King’ who wielded the Sword of Hades. The sword, discovered by the third generation Pope, contained such immense evil power that it surpassed all other divine artifacts on the continent. The current Pope had mentioned that the Sword of Hades could be considered the foremost among all evils, incomparable even to ordinary divine artifacts. Xuan Yue could never have imagined that this legendary epitome of evil would be in the posession of the simple-minded Ah Dai. On the surface, Ah Dai didn’t seem like a person capable of evil, yet how could he wield such a profoundly malevolent weapon as the Sword of Hades? Trying to suppress her astonishment, Xuan Yue still spoke in a low voice, "So, this uncle who taught you the use of the Sword of Hades, he’s the top assassin ’Nether King’ of the continent? Where is he now? How did he come to give you the Sword of Hades?"
