Chapter 787: Episode 2 Chapter 14 Hades is Gone_2
The five years that I spent with you were the calmest and most satisfying years of my life. Once you leave here, don’t run off immediately. Take all the food from the house and hide near the pile of rocks for ten days before you continue on your journey. The Assassin’s Guild will not let me go easily, and you will have to be careful. Ah, yes, you can use magic, at least on the level of a Junior Magician. If you walk west from here, you will come to the land of the Red Charming Clan. There, you will find a branch of the Mage Guild. Register yourself as a magician and wear a large magic robe to avoid detection. Moreover, magicians receive stipends which should be sufficient for your daily life. I had to flee the Assassin’s Guild hastily, unable to bring any assets with me. You will have to fend for yourself in the future. Go back to your teacher, Goris, and hone your skills in secrecy. Practice the Sword of Hades as much as you can before venturing out into the mainland for a safer journey. The two individuals I owe the most to are my junior sister and my master who raised me. If you find the opportunity, go and visit the Tian Gang Sword Sect. Always respect anyone who uses the same great sword as you." Owen’s glowing red face gradually dimmed as he continued to bleed blue blood from all his orifices. His body consumed the last of his remaining energy. He could no longer stay conscious and trembled as he spoke: "Remem...ber... on... the... mainland... avoid... contact... with three types... of... people... the... clergy... the... majority... of... them... are... too... upright... if... they... discover... the Sword of Hades... on... you... I’m... not... sure... what... might... happen... Also... avoid... the Assassin’s... Guild... and the Thieves’... Guild... Tell... Goris... I... said... hello... and... apologize... on... my... behalf... I... stole... his... student... for... several... years... He... must... resent... me... Ah Dai... Goris... may... not... be... a... bad... person... but... he... has... a... poor... reputation... on... the... mainland... Be wary... of... him... and... don’t... tell... him... about... the Sword of Hades. I... can’t... hold... on... withdraw... your... true... energy... burn... this... place... you must... burn... it... throw... the bodies... outside... in... and... leave... quickly... you... must... leave... quickly! I... wish... I... could... live... with... you... longer! But... I... have... to... go... now... you... must... take... care... of... yourself..." Before he could finish his sentence, the ’Nether King’ Owen, who had roamed the mainland for decades, suddenly passed away. Even in death, his face was still full of concern for the young man in front of him.
Owen’s hand gradually slipped from Ah Dai’s face. Ah Dai was completely in a daze. His heart felt as if it was being crushed by a heavy stone, making him extremely uncomfortable. Tears continuously flowed from his eyes, and he felt his heart turn icy cold. It was only then he realised how deeply he was attached to Owen. The uncle who had taken care of him with the utmost kindness and imparted all his knowledge to him was incredibly dear to him, and now, he was gone.
In the Sacred Calendar year 994, in June, the King of Assassins who had dominated the mainland for decades, departed from this world filled with hatred and unwillingness.
Owen’s corpse was rapidly cooling, the full toxicity of the Holy Water had taken effect, turning his body into a deep blue color. His handsome face was corroded by the poison, eroding all signs of life. Ah Dai stood up, wiping away the tears on his face. Despite his reluctance to leave Owen’s body, his mind was clear under the stimulating coldness of the Sword of Hades. He knew that the person whom Owen was most worried about before his death was himself. He could not let Owen down. He had to survive. Only if he survived, could he have any hope of avenging Owen.
With this thought in mind, Ah Dai ran back to his room, put the silver balls he had made and a few pieces of clothing into a bundle, and put all the food from the kitchen together, then returned to Owen’s side. He did all of this while shedding tears. His dearest person was gone, how could a mere seventeen-year-old child bear such a heavy burden?
A blister of blue liquid had melted underneath Owen’s body. His handsome face, now blue, was disfigured by the corrosive poison of the Holy Water. Ah Dai let out a loud cry, "No!". His uncle was already dead, and he didn’t want Owen’s corpse to be further destroyed by the poison. With extreme difficulty, he chanted the spell for the Flame Spell, "Fire elements that pervade the earth and skies! Bestow upon me the power to burn, in my name, I borrow your power, arise, scorching flames!" As Ah Dai recited the spell amidst sobs, a deep-blue flame appeared in his hand. Ah Dai closed his eyes, grit his teeth and let the flame scatter, completely engulfing Owen’s corpse. Under the extreme heat of the blue flame, Owen’s corpse soon turned into a pile of blue ashes.
