Chapter 448: Chapter 95 Accept Task_5
Feeling warmed by his words, Xuan Yue whispered, "Big brother, thank you. I, I..."
"Alright, you don’t need to be thankful. Aren’t we friends? Let’s go." he said.
Xuan Yue longed to reveal her true identity to Ah Dai immediately but each time she thought of ’Bing’ in Ah Dai’s heart, it felt painful. She had prodded many times, but Ah Dai always evaded it and never talked about Bing. The less Ah Dai said, the sharper the thorn in her heart. Gritting her teeth, Xuan Yue decided to continue hiding until she figured out the whole Bing issue before disclosing her identity to Ah Dai.
Having left the inn, they sauntered down the street. Suddenly, Xuan Yue spotted a tailor shop not far ahead. She urged Ah Dai, "Big brother, let’s go, let’s make you some suits to wear so that those vulgar guys won’t give you that look."
Ah Dai sighed, "No need. I don’t have a lot of money on me. What’s more, I am a commoner, so let them look at me however they wish."
Stubbornly, Xuan Yue asserted, "No way, I can’t just watch. Today at the restaurant I almost had an argument with the waiter and besides, we’ll have thousands of Gold Coins tomorrow. We won’t worry about meals. Let’s go, didn’t you say you would listen to everything I say? No resistance. Follow me quickly!" Without allowing Ah Dai to retort, she forcibly pulled him towards the tailor shop.
In the tailor shop, various colored fabrics were neatly arranged, and a variety of dazzling ready-mades hung on the walls.
Seeing Ah Dai and Xuan Yue coming in, the shop assistant hurriedly asked, "Good day! Are you here to make clothes?"
Xuan Yue pointed to Ah Dai and said, "My big brother wants to make some clothes. Big brother, what color do you like?"
Ah Dai bitterly smiled, "Brother, I think forget it. I have several suits of clothes already. They are enough."
Xuan Yue insisted, "No, we must make the clothes. Quickly, what color do you like? If you don’t answer, I’m going to pick them for you."
An hour later, they left the tailor shop. Under Xuan Yue’s insistence, they bought three suits of samurai-styled clothing for Ah Dai. The quality was excellent, costing Ah Dai ten gold coins which made him wince in pain. Ten coins, how many steamed buns could he buy with that!
"Cheer up, brother, look, donning new clothes makes a world of difference. Your martial arts are profound, and you naturally exude a certain aura. With the clothes enhancing it, how spirited you are!"
Helplessly, Ah Dai looked at the light blue suit he was wearing and felt like he had become a different person. The light blue fabric was incredibly soft and resilient. Bystanders’ gaze no longer looked at him as a servant. Xuan Yue had picked this light blue suit for him, saying it complemented his blue hair nicely.
Suddenly, a gruff sound cried out, "Dammit, looking for death are we? Dare to touch my stuff? I’ll kill you!"
"Ah-----" A scream sounded, Ah Dai and Xuan Yue instinctively looked in that direction. There was a crowd of people clustered together, not sure what they were looking at.
Ah Dai said, "Brother, should we go over and take a look?"
Xuan Yue was stunned. Ah Dai was usually not a fan of such commotion, what was happening today?
The constant screams came from the crowd. They wedged their way through, Ah Dai used his gentle fighting aura to push aside the onlookers and get to the center. A burly man was violently beating a skinny boy. The boy was hit to the point of spitting blood and he fell to the ground, clutching his head, constantly screaming out.
The surrounding onlookers kept shouting, "Kill him, kill the thief," "He deserves it. Who told him to steal things, he deserves this."
Ah Dai felt a pang in his heart. Was this person being beaten up a thief? Looking at the thief filled with scars and wounds, Ah Dai couldn’t help but think of the scene when he was beaten up in the City of Nino for failing to steal the fish. The feeling of painful memory was still vivid. He instinctively shouted out, "Stop it." He stepped out and grabbed the burly man’s hand.
The burly man was wearing standard mercenary clothes, possibly in his thirties, his face full of hard muscles. Anger flared, he cursed, "None of your damn business! Get lost." With a massive heave, he sought to fling away Ah Dai’s hand. Yet, how could his skills compare with Ah Dai’s? Ah Dai sighed, negated the burly man’s fighting aura and said, "Brother, let it be. He became a thief for his own reasons. You’ve hit him, let’s not make it difficult for him anymore."
The burly man, unable to withdraw his right hand, was instantly furious, his left arm swung up, throwing a punch at Ah Dai’s face.
Ah Dai’s brow slightly knitted as his True Qi instantly turned into a fighting aura. A surge of white light burst forth, but he didn’t want to hurt people. The burly man could only feel his fist being enveloped by an energy force, unable to advance any further. Realizing that it was the power of fighting aura, his aggressive face changed immediately, nervously he yelled, "You, what do you want to do?"
Ah Dai lightly swung the hand holding his fist, tossing the burly man’s body to one side, he calmly said, "I don’t want to do anything. I just don’t want you to trouble him anymore." Ah Dai then walked over to the badly injured boy. The white glow appeared again, Ah Dai used his True Qi to heal the boy’s wounds.
Xuan Yue walked over to Ah Dai, whispering, "Big brother, let me do it."
