Xuan Yue had only just fallen asleep. How could she possibly sleep when faced with the man she adored? She had been watching Ah Dai as he slept. Ah Dai got up from the bed, stretched his body, and walked outside to the yard where Sheng Xie was still sound asleep, digesting the nutritious fruits he had eaten the day before.
Ah Dai suddenly remembered the two books Xuan Re had given him. He went back to his room to get them and sat down in front of the wooden house to read them. After learning about Xuan Yue’s and the Pope’s identities the previous night, he wanted very much to forget Xuan Yue, thinking it was the only way to avoid further pain. But, could he really forget her? Despite reading the books, he could not calm his heart. It was as if every page had a portrait of Yue Yue on it.
Half a month later, in front of the wooden house deep in the Illusive Forest, a loud shout echoed. Five balls of Holy Light Bomb imbued with a strong Sacred Aura were fired from Xuan Yue’s Angel Wand directly towards Ah Dai.
Watching the level-five divine Attack Magic, Ah Dai showed no signs of panic. With confidence shining in his eyes, his hands behind his back, a Dragon-shape burst of energy radiated from his chest, instantly enveloping his body. The five Holy Light Bombs hit the blue energy precisely, exploding into a shower of light but inflicting no damage on Ah Dai.
Xuan Yue put down her wand, nodding in satisfaction, and said, "Big brother, you’ve made incredible progress! You’ve already mastered the basic usage of the Divine Dragon’s Blood ultimate defense, the Dragon God Body Cover, in just a few days."
Ah Dai smiled and replied, "I have you to thank for your guidance! However, this Dragon God Body Cover is truly incredible. It can block any attack as long as the energy doesn’t surpass the power of the Divine Dragon’s Blood and my own energy, it will be hard to hurt me. Regrettably, the highest grade magic within the Divine Dragon’s Blood itself consumes a lot of spiritual power. Not to mention, I can only barely use the most basic Dragon God Body as of now."
Xuan Yue replied, "You’ve done well already. It’s not something that can be mastered in a day or two. I’ve practiced the Phoenix Body for so long and can only make the Phoenix’s form clearer. We’ve got control over the defensive abilities of these two artifacts when we can summon a fully formed Dragon and Phoenix. Let’s take it slow, one day we will get there."
A massive black figure dropped from behind Ah Dai, a huge dragon head peered over. It was Sheng Xie. He nudged closed to Ah Dai, his front claws pointing at his own chest, his large eyes blinking in an exceptionally comical way.
Ah Dai chuckled and said, "Xiao Xie says, it is the dragon I summoned!"
Xuan Yue also laughed. During these days, because she has healed Sheng Xie, he had grown very close to her. She liked this big goofy guy very much, "Yes! How could I forget Xiao Xie, he’s the real dragon you summoned, Ah Dai. I’ve seen in the church books that none of the dragons described are like Sheng Xie. Perhaps, when Sheng Xie fully matures, his power might exceed that of the Dragon’s Blood. It is your fifth artifact!"
Sheng Xie, looking proud, lay on the ground and put his big head between Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, demonstrating that they should not ignore him.
Xuan Yue giggled and said, "Sheng Xie, stop messing around. Let your big brother Ah Dai focus on practicing how to use the artifact. He has to protect us in the future!"
Although Ah Dai’s martial arts skills hadn’t improved much during his year in the Illusive Forest, he kept improving his spiritual power to control the Artifact Gors Wish. In addition to his previous training to control energy conversion, his spiritual powers were near the Magus level. When Xuan Yue discovered this, she was surprised. To control magic artifacts such as the Dragon’s Blood and Ring of Guardian, one needed immense spiritual power. Although Ah Dai couldn’t fully exploit the effects of these two artifacts, being able to master their basic uses in less than a month was a remarkable achievement.
Apart from using the Dragon’s Blood as a Spatial Bag to store items, it had two main abilities. One was using the Dragon’s Blood to amplify and use Light Magic within the limits of spiritual power. The other was to use the Dragon Blood’s original energy, which comprised offensive and defensive forms. Both the Divine Dragon Reincarnation and the Phoenix Rebirth attacking technique of the Phoenix’s Blood required too much spiritual power.
