Chapter 437: Chapter 93: Use of Divine Artifact _3

Listening to the thrilling experiences in Ah Dai’s story, Xuan Yue could feel her heart beating faster and faster. Although Ah Dai spoke calmly, she could almost feel the intensity of the fights and the fear afterwards made her shiver. Ah Dai had come back from the brink of death so many times. How much pain had he endured!

"Later on, we managed to escort the Elf Princess back to the Elf City on time, thus fulfilling the task given by the Elf Queen. After leaving the Elf Forest, I parted ways with Brother Yan Shi and came here. However, Master Goris left me and I can no longer see his familiar face."

Feeling Ah Dai’s sadness, Xuan Yue murmured, "Big brother Ah Dai, you’ve suffered so much. Those elves must be feeling so pitiful! I never knew the Empire of Sunset City was so dark. But why isn’t the Church purging them? These Dark Forces are totally blasphemous to the Sky God!"

Ah Dai snorted coldly, "Your church is merely pretending to be sacred. You’ve grown too accustomed to the financial support from the Empire of Sunset City. Why would you care if these Dark Forces, who provide lots of money, are committing blasphemy as long as they keep giving money?"

For the first time, Xuan Yue heard Ah Dai speak to her in such an acidic tone. She felt a stinging pain in her heart. In a low voice, she murmured, "I... I didn’t know about it. When I get back to the Holy Church, I will have my grandpa investigate."

Ah Dai was clearly affected by his hatred towards the Dark Forces of the Empire of Sunset City. He didn’t notice that Xuan Yue had sounded rather feminine. He sighed saying, "Forget it. You’re not the Pope. Even if you were, I doubt your father Xuan Ye Situ could change it. Your brother Xuan Re, please don’t tell Yue Yue what I told you tonight. If she asks, just give her an overview but don’t worry her, okay?"

Xuan Yue was taken aback, murmuring, "Big brother Ah Dai, you..."

Ah Dai sighed, "I just don’t want Yue Yue to worry. Don’t overthink it. It’s late, get some sleep."

Lying on her wooden bed, Xuan Yue felt her thoughts racing. How could she fall asleep after hearing about Ah Dai’s trials? She could hardly believe that Ah Dai, her beloved, had endured so much pain in the past three years. Her heart swelled with pity and her love for Ah Dai intensified. She yearned to warm his cold heart with her love. After wrestling with her feelings for a while, she turned around on her bed and said, "Ah Dai, have you fallen asleep?"

Ah Dai, who was just drifting off after pouring out his experiences in the Empire of Sunset City, was awakened by Xuan Yue’s voice. He murmured drowsily, "What’s up?"

Xuan Yue took a deep breath, her inner struggle evident. Eventually, her love for Ah Dai overcame her shyness, and she whispered, "Ah Dai, the floor is cold. Come to bed. We can both fit."

"Oh." Ah Dai didn’t think much of it. He got up from the floor and sat on the bed. Xuan Yue moved closer to the wall, making room for him. Ah Dai crawled under the warm blanket. The warmth from the blanket relaxed his body and deepened his sleepiness.

The bed wasn’t particularly spacious, and with Ah Dai’s tall frame, it felt quite crammed. Xuan Yue’s cheeks flushed as her body had unavoidably touched his. She lowered her head, feeling her body shivering slightly when she sensed her heartbeat racing.

Noticing her tenseness, Ah Dai thought she might be feeling cold. He instinctively reached over, pulled the blanket over her, and moved closer to her, "Sorry, the space is small. Make sure to cover up so you don’t catch a cold." He turned towards her side and his arm inadvertently fell over her as he fell into a deep sleep.

In the darkness of the room, the warmth from Ah Dai’s body was incredibly comforting to Xuan Yue.

Uninhibited by worries, she gently nestled in Ah Dai’s arms. The sense of familiarity suffused her being, slowly leading her into a peaceful sleep. If only she could forever sleep in Ah Dai’s arms like this! As Ah Dai’s steady breath fanned her face, she leaned closer to his modest-looking face and gently kissed his lips. An electrifying numbness shot through her body the moment their lips met, sending waves of warmth coursizing through her.

The next morning, Ah Dai stretched and slowly woke up from a night of deep sleep. He felt like his body and mind had truly rested. He found himself hugging something and looked down to see Xuan Yue’s blue hair. Her gentle fragrance was wafting in the air, stirring unfamiliar feelings within him. Ah, the blanket was too small. Brother Xuan Re must have been cold to cuddle up against him. Seeing the daylight outside, he knew it was no longer early. To suppress his strange feelings, he gently pushed Xuan Yue away and sat up from the bed.
