Chapter 424: Chapter 90: Reunion with Xuan Yue_5

"No — I can’t let Sheng Xie die." Ah Dai was constantly shouting in his heart. His right hand slowly pressed onto Sheng Xie’s trembling body. He cast one last affectionate look at Sheng Xie and resolutely used Goris’ final wish for the last time to teleport.

The black light flashed and disappeared, with Sheng Xie’s gigantic body vanishing as well. Ah Dai had instantly transported him to a place thirty meters behind the others.

The moment Sheng Xie disappeared, Ah Dai’s body was fully exposed under the black energy blade. Without Sheng Xie’s Golden Horn Energy to block it, the black energy blade swiftly descended, aimed directly at Ah Dai’s head.

A trace of bitter smile emerged from the corner of Ah Dai’s mouth. At this point, he could not think of any way to counter the full force attack from the eight men. As a symbolic gesture, he formed a life-changing sword with his spiritual power and slashed it towards the black energy blade. At this moment, Ah Dai had cast his life and death aside, transmitting a message to Sheng Xie with his last bit of spiritual power, asking it to escape quickly.

Sheng Xie had been struggling against the immense pressure when suddenly it felt its whole body loosen, as it found itself in a different place. Clearly seeing the massive black energy blade slashing towards Ah Dai right in front of it, Sheng Xie’s heart raced, and the golden light from its horn was fully released, charging towards the eight men in the air. However, its movements were still slower than those of the black energy blade.

Time seemed to slow down at this moment. The trajectory of the cataclysmic slash was crystal clear. Ah Dai already felt the shadow of death looming. His life seemingly fading away.

"Don’t — " A shrill cry reverberated, a radiant golden divine light reached faster than Ah Dai’s life-changing energy sword, abruptly hitting the significantly weakened black energy blade head-on. A booming sound echoed as Ah Dai felt his body floating off the ground. In this split second, he seemed to be oblivious to anything else, only that final cry resonating around him. Ah Dai’s body crashed to the ground, he felt a jolt run through him, his vision turned black and all his senses descended into slumber.

The eight men were also badly injured. That radiant divine light contained a tremendous amount of attacking power, a power that was different from fighting spirit. When the energy filled with a sacred aura collided with their significantly weakened cataclysmic slash, a massive explosion ensued. At the same time they were violently shaken, Sheng Xie’s attack from behind had already reached them. A loud bang resounded, and all eight men spat out blood, flying backwards through the air. One of them, upon sensing the arrival of a powerful enemy and considering their situation, did not hesitate and shouted, "Retreat."

Eight silhouettes under the influence of residual energy disappeared into the Illusive Forest in just a few jumps, leaving only some fresh blood traces behind.

Sheng Xie didn’t have the luxury of pursuing the enemies. All it was concerned about was Ah Dai. Beating its massive dragon wings, it let out a mournful cry and flew towards Ah Dai.

A white figure reached Ah Dai faster than Sheng Xie. The surging sacred aura enveloped Ah Dai’s entire body. This timely saviour, who saved Ah Dai’s life, was none other than Xuan Yue, who had been searching for Ah Dai for a month after leaving the church.

Upon leaving the church, Xuan Yue was in such a hurry to find Ah Dai that she went in the wrong direction, forgetting the Pope’s advice. It took her two days to realize this, and then she found information about Phoenix’s Blood and Dragon’s Blood in the books given to her by the Pope. By using the connection between the two divine artifacts, she eventually found her way to the Empire of Tian Jing. Upon reaching the outskirts of the Illusive Forest, she immediately recalled Ah Dai telling her that his mentor lived there, which brought her great joy. She knew clearly that Ah Dai must be in there.
