Chapter 387: Chapter 82 Leaving the Papal Court_5

Suddenly, a sharp gust of wind rushed toward them from nearby. If Ah Dai didn’t halt his steps, he would definitely be hit by the gust. Left with no choice, he freed one hand to press on the ground, changing his forward momentum into upward force, floating up into the air to avoid the attack. About a dozen elves appeared before him, two of which were elf mages muttering a spell while the rest had their bows drawn, ready for battle.

Ah Dai was very anxious, he used his battle energy to amplify his voice and shouted, "Don’t take action, quickly guide me to the Elf City. Princess Xing Er is dying."

The elves were taken aback. They had just noticed Ah Dai cradling an elf in his arms and thought he was a poacher, which was why they had attacked him. After hearing Ah Dai’s explanation, the leader of the elves held back the imminent attack from his tribesmen, questioning curiously, "You said that you’re holding Princess Xing Er? What’s your name?" Most of the elves, including the leader, had never met Ah Dai and his companions before.

Cold sweat covered Ah Dai’s forehead out of urgency as he forcefully said, "I am Ah Dai, assigned by the Elf Queen to bring Princess Xing Er back. Her bloodline of the Elf King is almost lost, so please make way. We must reach the Elf City as fast as possible." If the elves were to continue their questioning, the frantic Ah Dai was prepared to fight them off. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Thankfully, after the Elf Queen had traveled back from Sunset City to the Elf Forest, she had informed everyone about rescuing the Elf Princess and commanded them to immediately report any sightings of Ah Dai and his companions bringing the princess back. Upon hearing Ah Dai’s explanation, the leader of the elves was taken aback, his doubts dissolving, and quickly said, "I apologize, we didn’t know it was the princess. Please go ahead, we will lead the way." Saying so, he ordered his tribesmen to fly forward and lead the way for Ah Dai. Without their guidance, in the maze-like Elf Forest, Ah Dai would have had no way to find the location of the Elf City.

Finally, having passed through the barriers set up by the Elf Clan, Ah Dai once again saw the beautiful Elf City. The pure waters of the Elf Lake were sparkling under the rays of sunlight penetrating through the large trees and looked utterly enchanting. Ah Dai felt Princess Xing Er trembling non-stop in his arms. With a firm heart, he applied his battle energy to envelop her delicate body and hurled her towards the Elf Lake. Encased in white light, Xing Er flew in a graceful arc, landing precisely in the lake next to the ancient Elf tree, splashing water in all directions. Watching Xing Er fall into the lake gave Ah Dai somewhat of a relief, but both the continuous sprinting and the worry in his heart had left him utterly exhausted, and he began to gasp for breath. At this point, he couldn’t determine whether Xing Er’s bloodline of the Elf King had vanished or not. After all, when she was about to awaken earlier, he had used his battle energy to put her back to sleep.

Seeing Ah Dai throw Xing Er into the lake, the elf who had been leading the way was immediately enraged and shouted, "What are you doing?"

Gasping for breath, Ah Dai explained, "Her bloodline of the Elf King is on the verge of disappearing. She needs to absorb the spiritual energy from the Lake of Elves."

The criticizing elf flew up, heading towards the spot where Xing Er had fallen into the water, while stubbornly saying, "Us elves can’t swim, let alone the princess who is still unconscious. What if you’ve drowned her?"

Ah Dai startled, just as he was about to say something, he saw five figures flying out from the ancient Elf tree. Among them was the Elf Queen. She flew directly onto the lake’s surface, and with a flash of green light, she fished out Xing Er’s water soaked body. Ah Dai took a leap, and stepping lightly on the water, he flew next to the Elf Queen, grabbing onto a vine hanging down from the ancient Elf tree. He said to the Elf Queen, "Auntie, look! I fear that Princess Xing Er’s bloodline of the Elf King..."
