Chapter 304: Chapter 66 Golden Swallowing_4

The besieging soldiers no longer dared to advance, standing dumbfounded in place. Ah Dai looked at the fresh blood flowing from Sheng Xie’s back, his heart aching tremendously. He shouted with his spiritual power, "Xiao Qie, what are you doing?"

For the first time, Sheng Xie ignored Ah Dai’s call. Its crouching body gradually stood upright, Golden Horn no longer radiating golden light, accumulating a golden energy sphere with a three-meter diameter in mid-air. Sheng Xie was using the power only an adult Dragon King possessed; the Dragon language spell - Golden Swallowing. It was a special attack with a wide-range of destruction, only usable by the Dragon King. In order to use this special attack of the Dragon King, Sheng Xie had drained all its potential, which left it to sleep for more than two years. However, what it didn’t know was that the appearance of this Dragon language spell made the Bone Dragon, which had absorbed souls and become stronger, completely loyal to it.

Sheng Xie slowly raised a front claw, its golden dragon eyes sweeping the diminutive human soldiers around it, revealing a flicker of contempt. It cried out lowly, seemingly saying something. Suddenly, a brilliant golden light erupted from its dragon eyes and the golden energy sphere in the sky completely detonated. The immense divine energy illuminated the whole night sky. The golden glow shone like the sun, covering the earth. Apart from within the fifty-meter radius centered on Sheng Xie, hundreds of square kilometers were blanketed with golden light. The soldiers of Dark City hadn’t even time to cry out before they vanished. As Ah Dai and his comrades watched, their surroundings became a sea of gold. The intensity of this surging energy made Ah Dai question whether he could survive within the golden radiance, even if he was at the peak of his powers, creating a protective layer and desperately protecting his body. This attack, seemingly forbidden, was too spectacular, even Ice, teetering on the brink of life and death, watched in fascination.

Dark City was one of the three major cities of the Empire of Sunset City and covered more than 16,000 square kilometers. The night of March 23, 995 on the Sacred Calendar, was a day all of Dark City would never forget. At midnight, when most of the civilians were in deep sleep, the Northwestern region of the Dark City suddenly brightened, as if a deity was caring for its subjects with its sacred light. A huge golden light originating from one point spread rapidly, illuminating the entire city. But it was neither a divine omen nor holy light, it was a destructive glow that brought death. Within one minute, in the northwestern Dark City, about one percent of the city disappeared in the golden light, devoured into oblivion. Everything happened so simply, yet so realistically. Over sixty percent of Dark City’s guards disappeared in this apocalyptic attack.

The golden light lasted for a minute, gradually disappearing and leaving the surrounding area desolate, as though the buildings never existed. The night sky reclaimed its tranquility, and only the panting of everyone could be clearly heard. Sheng Xie collapsed onto the ground, its voice echoing in Ah Dai’s heart, "Bro...bro...put...me...into...Divine Dragon’s Blood...going to...sleep...can’t...help...you...for a while...be...careful..."

Ah Dai chanted the spell of the Divine Dragon’s Blood, sadly recalled Sheng Xie back into it. Sheng Xie’s efforts weren’t in vain, there were no more soldiers or magicians pursuing them, just faintly visible survivors a kilometer away. Ah Dai looked at Ice in his arms, patted the Bone Dragon’s neck and shouted: "Let’s go, let’s break through Dark City."

The Bone Dragon seemed to have been scared stiff by Sheng Xie’s earlier attack, taking a moment to react. It howled, its huge dragon feet charging towards the direction Ah Dai pointed. The surviving soldiers were stunned, scattering when they saw the ferocious Bone Dragon. No one tried to stop Ah Dai and his group again. Soon, at the rapid pace of the Bone Dragon, they reached the West City Gate. The high and wide city gate was closed, and the gatekeepers shot arrows at them. A rain of arrows poured out, trying to stop Ah Dai’s group.

Ah Dai ordered the Bone Dragon to halt beyond the range of the bows. A cold light flashed in his eyes as he carefully placed Ice onto the Bone Dragon’s broad back. He called the Iron Bow from the Divine Dragon’s Blood and took a deep breath, summoning the little remaining energy within him. A glowing, yellow, long arrow appeared on the bowstring. Ah Dai roared, forcing his strength to draw the bow to a full moon, "Destroy everything blocking my path." The bowstring hummed as the arrow vanished.

Once again, the Bone Dragon felt fear. The attack unleashed by its boss was nothing it could fight against!

Although Ah Dai’s aim was off, the gate was too large to miss. The arrow struck the left gate with the strength of explosion, blowing a hole with a diameter of three meters, causing the entire fortifications to shudder. Ah Dai shouted, "Charge!" The Bone Dragon charged without hesitation, dust billowing behind it. Ah Dai’s striking arrow had stunned the soldiers on the fortifications, and the previous terrifying golden light had them dumbfounded, forgetting to attack. By the time they remembered to stop Ah Dai’s group, the Bone Dragon had already carried them to the gate. The hole in the gate was too small for the Bone Dragon. Its dark purple eyes lined with a twinkle, it opened its huge mouth and sprayed out a faint purple light. It followed the large hole Ah Dai had opened and completely melted the remaining part of the gate. The Bone Dragon used Corrosive Flame, a skill it had developed after absorbing thousands of souls and increasing its power. Seeing the effect it had made, the Bone Dragon howled in excitement, charging out without looking back, instantly doubling its speed. The scattered arrows from behind couldn’t break through Ah Dai and his members’ defenses.
