Chapter 243: Chapter 54 Demon Summoning_1
The middle-aged man nodded and said, "I see, my name is Simon. I guess you can say I’m in charge around here. Give me your magic card, I’ll help you collect your monthly stipend and a magician robe."
Ah Dai quickly handed over his magic card and thanked, "Uncle, thank you."
Simon took Ah Dai’s magic card, glanced at it and chuckled, "It turns out that you are, like me, also a fire mage. We should exchange ideas in the future. Don’t be shy here. Witches coming here are like returning home. Oh, by the way, don’t call me uncle, I’m still very young! Haha." After talking, he turned around and walked to a counter, handed over Ah Dai’s magic card, and started talking.
The magicians nearby, who were chatting, all gave Ah Dai friendly smiles, and Ah Dai quickly responded. Among these magicians, surprisingly, four or five were powerful mages and they seemed to know each other well. A water element mage said, "The Empire of Sunset City seems rather quiet recently, I wonder what kind of sinister conspiracy those filthy guys are plotting."
An earth element mage, dressed in a yellow robe, scoffed, "Humph, a despicable race like the Empire of Sunset City should have been eradicated long ago."
"We can’t say that there are no good people in the Empire of Sunset City just because it’s evil. However, if they dare to provoke us, I believe that Washington will certainly teach them a lesson."
A young and mostly self-confident Advanced Fire Mage proudly said, "The Empire of Sunset City can’t possibly stand up against Washington. Even our unique magic force alone would cost them too much."
The previous water element mage said, "We can’t simply say that. Although the strength of the Empire of Sunset City is not as great as ours, they have indeed made a lot of money through the dark forces, to mention wealth, Washington is not their match! You all know, there are many large mercenary corps employed by the Empire of Sunset City on the continent, not to mention the alliance of the Assassin’s Guild and Thief’s Guild with them. If a real fight ensues, our situation would not look good."
Upon hearing this, everyone started contemplating. Ah Dai, hearing the name of the Assassin’s Guild, felt a surge of anger in his heart, and he said resentfully, "What is so great about the Assassin’s Guild? I will destroy them sooner or later."
The eyes of the magicians instantly fell on Ah Dai, that proud Fire Mage praised, "Good, young man, you’ve got guts. What is the Assassin’s Guild but a bunch of sneaky plotters? Their days are numbered. If I ever see an assassin from the guild, I, Sida, will kill him on sight."
The experienced Water Mage cautioned, "It’s good that young men should be high-spirited, but don’t be overconfident, the power of the Assassin’s Guild is still huge."
Sida snorted, although his opinion was different from the old magician’s, out of respect, he didn’t retort.
Just then, Ah Dai suddenly felt a strong murderous atmosphere permeating out. The shadowy figure flashed and was gone, a trace of subtle darkness rushed towards Sida. "Not good" Ah Dai quickly unleashed his True Qi to the limit. He darted out with a lightning-like speed, and reached out to grab the shadowy figure.
With a light ’Ding’, the shadowy figure was successfully caught by Ah Dai. It was a black short blade. Something was smeared on the blade, reflecting a faint light, and the person holding the blade was wrapped in a tight black suit, wearing a black hood, only a pair of bright eyes showed through, and no skin was exposed. The blade had a dark purple hue, indicating that it was laden with deadly poison, but in Ah Dai’s glowing yellow palm, it could not move an inch further.
It took a while for the magicians to react, and they exclaimed in unison, "Assassin."
Seeing that he couldn’t snatch back his blade, the Assassin suddenly let go, throwing his body at Ah Dai who was infuriated by the identity of the other party. As he struck back, the assassin’s body twisted oddly and let out a puff of smoke. He disappeared on the spot. Ah Dai, in the blink of an eye, sensed the sharp whizzing from behind. This speed was ineffective against Ah Dai. He moved his body slightly aside like a wisp of smoke and moved a foot away from his original spot. A dark light pierced through the empty air. Ah Dai snorted coldly. His short blade condensed True Qi, locking the assassin completely. The formidable pressure made the assassin pause, and Ah Dai took the opportunity, his short blade already at the assassin’s shoulder. A chill came out of the blade, making the assassin dare not move.
The whole exchange only lasted a few seconds. Sida was just about to chant a spell, but he saw that the assassin had been subdued by Ah Dai. When he saw the poisoned short blade in Ah Dai’s hand and considered how fast the assassin’s attack was, he was drenched in cold sweat. For magicians, assassins and thieves are the most horrifying enemies, as they strike when least expected.
Ah Dai took a breath and said with hatred, "You’re an assassin. Tell me where the headquarters of the Assassin’s Guild are and I’ll let you go."
The assassin had a mocking look in his eyes and snorted coldly. Suddenly he lunged his head towards the short blade. Before Ah Dai could react, the assassin’s throat was slit open by the sharp blade. Blood spurted out immediately. Although Ah Dai had his protective True Qi enveloping him and didn’t get stained with blood, the sight made him feel nauseous.
