Chapter 1610: Chapter 188 Sumeru Sword_2

The crowd took their seats by host and guest. Yun Ying said, "Xi Wen, where is Brother Di Si? Is he still training?"

With a sad expression, Xi Wen stood up, exchanged a glance with Ah Dai, and sighed, "Today, I have an announcement to make here." His voice, imbued with True Qi, projected far, allowing all the disciples of the Tian Gang Sword Sect outside the conference hall to hear.

Upon hearing Xi Wen’s words, the three Sword Saints simultaneously frowned. They came seeking the Sword Saint of the Tian Gang and had no desire to delay here. Goshawk was about to speak when Yun Ying stopped him with a look. Xi Wen paused for a moment before continuing, "What I’m announcing is that our mentor, the Sword Saint of the Tian Gang, has ascended to immortality."

"What?" Yun Ying, Goshawk, and Harry stood up in unison, massive and oppressive pressure emanating from them, causing the seven second-generation disciples of the Tian Gang Sword Sect to involuntarily take a step back. Outside the conference hall, all the disciples of the Tian Gang Sword Sect began to talk among themselves, with grief swiftly engulfing their hearts. For them, the Sword Saint of the Tian Gang was a legend akin to a deity. Many fourth-generation disciples had never even seen the Sword Saint, so upon hearing that the world’s number one master, whom they were most proud of, had passed away, how could they not be emotional? Yun Ying said solemnly, "Xi Wen, what happened? You need to give us an explanation."

Feeling the immense aura emanating from Yun Ying and the other two, a flash of light passed through Xi Wen’s eyes. He took a step forward without fear and said, "Esteemed seniors, in truth, our teacher passed away several years ago. However, before he left, he instructed us not to spread the news of his death until the Sword Sect had another Sword Saint. Only we, the second-generation disciples, knew about this. Please, all of you, be seated." A trace of tears flickered in Yun Ying’s eyes, and his body swayed slightly as he murmured, "Brother Di Si, I never thought you would leave like this. We were rivals and friends, yet I didn’t even make it to send you off for the last time. Ah—you know, we truly have grown old, and death is inevitable! Even with your supreme power, you still..."

With a somber expression, the temperamental Goshawk sighed, "Everyone has to die eventually, but for Big Brother Di Si to die like that, we are left without rivals."

Harry turned to look at Ah Dai, somewhat reproachful, "Did you know all along? Why didn’t you tell me?"

With red-rimmed eyes, Ah Dai replied, "I’m sorry, Uncle Harry, it was the master’s last wish; I couldn’t disobey it!"

Xi Wen took a deep breath and said loudly, "At the same time, I also announce that as of today, the position of Sword Saint of the Tian Gang is to be replaced by the third-generation disciple, Ah Dai, who shall become the new Sword Saint. He will also be our sect’s permanent overseer, with the authority to supervise any actions within the Sword Sect. Regardless of who it is, including myself, should anyone violate the sect’s rules, the overseer has the right to take direct action for punishment."

"Hold on. What right does he have to take over Brother Di Si’s position? He’s just a young brat and wants to stand above us three old geezers as the continent’s number one Sword Saint? That’s absolutely not possible."

Yun Ying glanced at Goshawk’s indignant appearance and said angrily, "This is the Tian Gang Sword Sect’s own matter. Don’t think that just because Brother Di Si has passed, you can act recklessly. I’m still here, and you should know what happens when you provoke me in this state."

Goshawk still maintained some fear of Yun Ying and snorted before sitting back in his place. Xi Wen bowed to Yun Ying and said, "Thank you, senior, for your generosity. However, the Tian Gang Sword Sect will certainly give the three seniors an explanation. It was decided way back when the teacher passed that Ah Dai would engage in a Sword Saint contest with the three of you. Today I officially announce his status only to provide him with a rightful position."

The sorrow in Ah Dai’s eyes vanished, replaced by a composed expression as he lightly stepped forward, landing in front of Yun Ying, and said, "Honored seniors, please guide me."

Harry walked over to Ah Dai, patted his shoulder, and said, "Now that Big Brother Di Si has died, I have lost the heart for a fight. I suggest we cancel this gathering of four Sword Saints. In our hearts, Big Brother Di Si remains the strongest." A warmth stirred within Ah Dai’s heart, understanding that Harry’s words were primarily to prevent Goshawk from taking vengeance during the contest. Gratefully smiling, he said, "Uncle Harry, as the heir to the master’s Sword Saint title, I request this opportunity from the esteemed seniors. I cannot let the master, who has ascended to another world, be disgraced. If the esteemed seniors no longer need rest, then let us proceed to the back mountain." With that, he gestured invitingly.

"Ah Dai, have you lost your mind?" A voice full of anxiety reached Ah Dai’s ears, causing him to startle and look toward the source, only to find it was the Ice Skeleton speaking. A flash of anger crossed Goshawk’s eyes as he spat, "Fourth One, shut up." Under his master’s pressure, the Ice Skeleton took a deep look at Ah Dai before retreating to the side. Offering a regretful smile, Ah Dai shook his head slightly at the Ice Skeleton.

Goshawk glared at Ah Dai and said, "Kid, what do you want with my disciple? Do you intend to kill another one? Fine, I do not object to you replacing Big Brother Di Si, but if you die by my hand, you can’t blame anyone. Lead the way." Ignoring his threat, Ah Dai paid his respects to Yun Ying and Harry, then led the way out of the hall. With him as the guide, Yun Ying and the other eight, along with Xi Wen, his seven brothers, and Xuan Yue, arrived outside the Back Mountain Stone Cave where the Sword Saint of the Tian Gang used to train. Ah Dai walked all the way to the edge of the cliff beside the cave before stopping, standing with his hands behind his back, the mountain breeze stirring, giving off an ethereal feeling. Yun Ying, Goshawk, and Harry leapt gracefully, landing in front of Ah Dai, while the rest of the spectators retreated in unison. Only after retreating several hundred meters did they stop, with the seven of Xi Wen’s group simultaneously activating their protective qi, ready at any moment to withstand the energy aftershocks of these four peerless masters’ exchange.
