Chapter 158: Chapter 36 Battle of the Magic Teachers_4

Tian Ying was shocked and quickly said, "Earlier I escorted Ah Dai and Xuan Yue out of the Elven Territory. From what they said, they seemed to be planning to cross the Tian Gang Mountain Range and go to the Empire of Sunset City to search for our people. Ah Dai and Yan Shi seem to have some connection with the Tian Gang Sword Sect, so they should be heading there first."

Xuan Ye’s expression changed slightly, "The Tian Gang Sword Sect, that makes things easier. My Queen, I must not delay any longer. I need to catch up with that girl quickly, otherwise, it may be difficult to find her again if I lose her trail. I apologize again for the issues before, and when given a chance, Xuan Ye will surely bring Yue Yue to personally apologize to you." Saying that, he bowed deeply to the Elf Queen.

The Elf Queen returned the bow and said, "Please, no need for that, I ought to thank you for your help."

Xuan Ye nodded and said, "Rest assured, I will fulfill my promises."

The Elf Queen requested, "Please be kind to Ah Dai! Once you have news of our people, could you please bring them back here?"

Xuan Ye responded, then left the Elf Ancient Tree with the assistance of Ao Di. He hurriedly led his men towards the Tian Gang Mountain Range in the direction of the Empire of Huasheng.

After Ah Dai and the others left the Elf Forest, they passed through a hilly area into the territory of the Aslan tribe in more than half a day’s time. During this period, they didn’t encounter any Alien Races from the Tian Yuan Clan.

Finally returning to the flat plains, the speed of the group’s journey suddenly increased. While crossing over the hills, Xuan Yue, citing her lack of stamina, stubbornly made Ah Dai carry her on his back. Of course, her weight was nothing for Ah Dai, but carrying her, there was always an uncomfortable prickling feeling. The faint scent from Xuan Yue’s body had caused Ah Dai to be at a loss multiple times, and the sensation of their bodies touching had frequently left him feeling awkward. Yan Li also offered to carry Xuan Yue, but for some reason, Ah Dai uncharacteristically declined, seemingly feeling like he would be at a disadvantage if Yan Li carried Xuan Yue instead.

"Yue Yue, we’re on a flat road now, you should get down and walk." This was probably the umpteenth time Ah Dai had suggested that Xuan Yue get down.

Xuan Yue giggled and shook her head, "No, I want you to carry me. You guys walk too fast, a girl who knows no martial arts can’t keep up!" After almost a full day on Ah Dai’s back, she was started to get used to it, especially feeling comfortable in her sleep on his broad back.

Ah Dai shook his head in helplessness and continued his journey.

Yan Li chuckled, "My friend, just accept your fate. After all, it takes two to tango."

Ah Dai responded with a bitter smile, "Brother Yan Li, please stop teasing me."

Seeing Ah Dai’s "miserable" expression, Yan Shi also couldn’t help but smile, "We’ve been walking for quite some time now. I’m a bit tired. Let’s find a place to rest."

Xuan Yue responded, "Sure, let’s rest here. The Aslan Tribe really is strange. They don’t have a single tree. All around us are vast grasslands."

Upon hearing Xuan Yue agree to a break, Ah Dai quickly set her down. Xuan Yue gave him a dissatisfied look and sat down on the grass, using her hand to block the glaring sunlight. Yan Shi and Yan Li also stopped and lied down comfortably on the ground. Yan Shi said, "That’s how the Aslan Tribe is. They’re all a nomadic group, usually living in sturdy tents. The Aslan’s light Cavalry is very famous on this continent. They’re also the largest race in the Federation of Sodom. When we run into an Aslan tribe, we can buy a few horses from them which will make our journey faster."

Xuan Yue replied, "Buy horses? Do you have money? Ah Dai and I have already spent most of ours." Indeed, most of their funds were spent on the luxurious carriage they had previously bought. If they bought horses, they wouldn’t have money for food and accommodation.

Yan Shi looked puzzled and turned to ask Yan Li, "Did you bring any money, brother?"

Yan Li shook his head, "When have we ever used money in our Clan? I’ve never used that stuff."

Ah Dai said "It seems we still have to walk. If we could find a city, perhaps Yue Yue and I could collect our monthly wages from the Mage Guild, and then we’d have some money to spend." Honestly, he didn’t want to ride a horse. He could still remember the painful experience he had the first time he rode one.

Yan Li laughed, "We don’t need that yet. There’s always a way. Though we don’t have money, we do have strength. When we get to the Aslan Tribe, maybe we could do some work for them in exchange for some money! How can we travel without horses? That would be too slow."

Yan Shi smiled wistfully, "I never thought I would see the day where I have to sell my labor."

Xuan Yue giggled, "So, you guys really are going to sell your labor? That’s going to be fun, I can’t wait to see you guys huffing and puffing away. Actually, we should have stayed in the Tian Yuan Clan’s territory for a few more days. I haven’t seen other races yet. Brother Yan Li, what do you think Dwarves look like? Are they shorter than you?"

Yan Li sprang up to a sitting position, proudly proclaiming, "Of course they’re shorter than me! To a Dwarf, I must surely be a giant." His words immediately started everyone laughing.

The fruits they brought from the Elf Clan were long gone and they could only eat some steamed buns they had stored in Xuan Yue’s Phoenix’s Blood to stave off their hunger. The storage ability of Phoenix’s Blood was truly remarkable. It had been quite some days now, but the buns were still fresh with no signs of dryness or spoilage.
