Chapter 1492: Chapter 162: The Death of the Maid_5
The surroundings suddenly became eerily silent. No one dared to step forward and attack Ah Dai. The number-one expert of the Governor’s Mansion couldn’t even withstand a single move from him. Ah Dai’s overwhelming presence had completely subdued the hearts of these guards. Sweeping his icy gaze over the soldiers who retreated as he advanced, Ah Dai said faintly, "I’ll say this one last time—move, or die."
The guards were paralyzed with fear. Some who lacked the courage had already started stepping aside. At that moment, someone suddenly shouted, "Everyone, attack at once! Kill him to avenge Lord Lan!" Under the rallying cry, the experts who had come with Randa lunged forward toward Ah Dai. For a moment, various types of battle energy flickered in the air, their sole target being the figure encircled at the center—Ah Dai. The brilliant glimmers of energy clashing against Ah Dai’s body created an otherworldly and harrowing scene. Cold light erupted in his eyes. Though the guards of the Governor’s Mansion were far from weak, they were barely comparable to the Stealth Killers of the Assassin’s Guild. Even if dozens of top-tier assassins attacked him simultaneously, he never flinched—so why would he fear these people?
Suddenly, a radiant burst of white battle energy erupted from him. In a flash, a silver mesh-like energy spread outward like lightning, radiating in all directions. The gossamer web of energy formed by his Solid State Vital Energy carried an unrivaled sharpness. Any other energies dissolving upon contact with it was almost a foregone conclusion.
Ah Dai let out a thunderous roar, yanking his hands inward. The "heavenly snare" mesh in midair suddenly morphed into a massive Light Blade over three meters long. With a swing of his right hand, the Light Blade slashed horizontally. Under the unyielding Silver Solid Energy of the Vital Energy’s Sixth Transformation, more than a dozen people were instantly cleaved into halves.
Now that the killing intent was ignited, Ah Dai could no longer suppress the grief and rage within his heart. Gripping the Light Blade with both hands, he moved like a tempest, manifesting a storm of battle energy lashing out in all directions like a ring of serrated death. It shredded everything in proximity to the guards like a monstrous, grinding meat machine.
Only in facing Ah Dai directly did these guards finally comprehend the magnitude of his overwhelming power. That silver whirlwind was pure terror incarnate. Flesh and blood fragments were flung outward continuously by its spinning force. In a matter of mere moments, half the guards had perished at Ah Dai’s hands. No one dared charge at him anymore. Those remaining were either frozen in fear or fled for their lives wherever their legs could carry them. For those too paralyzed to escape, all that awaited was the arrival of the silver whirlwind.
With a wet "squelch," one of the guards at the fore was reduced into a rain of blood by the vortex before him. Gazing at the mangled remains, Ah Dai began to regain some clarity. The silver vortex dissipated, his carnage halted—but the murderous intent in his eyes burned ever brighter. He strode in long, determined steps toward the rooms where Tiro and Rong Rong were. By this point, no one dared to stand in his way.
Amid all the commotion within the mansion, the Governor of Mica Province, Teirhaus, naturally caught wind of the disturbance. Hastily donning his ornate robes, he stepped forth to see over a hundred anxious guards standing outside his door. This nobleman, now approaching seventy years of age, erupted in a fiery rage. Since becoming Governor of Mica Province, he had never encountered such an audacious event. Someone had dared to invade his home to kill, and his own men failed to stop the intruder. Though the individual had yet to reach him directly, the rage boiling within Teirhaus defied description. Grabbing his Command Arrow from the desk with a grim expression, he bellowed, "Attend me!"
"Here, Governor! What are your instructions?" A Guard Captain knelt before Teirhaus.
Teirhaus panted heavily, his voice a deep growl. "Take my Command Arrow. Immediately head to the military camp outside the city and summon the army into the city. Lock down the entire area. I want this brazen assassin captured—dead or alive!" His slightly corpulent frame trembled lightly with suppressed rage, the wrinkles on his face twisting together into a grotesque snarl.
