Chapter 1491: Chapter 162 The Death of the Maid_4

The Governor’s Mansion was patrolled by many soldiers. Ah Dai was soon spotted by the guards shortly after stepping inside. "Who are you? Halt! If you take another step, we’ll kill you without hesitation."

Ah Dai seemed to ignore the guards’ shouts entirely and kept walking forward. His arms emitted a series of sharp cracking sounds as the bones within shifted unnervingly, and a radiant white Life Battle Aura burst forth from his body.

A squad of ten guards quickly caught up to Ah Dai, surrounding him in the center. The tips of their long spears aimed straight at his chest. The leader of the squad spoke in a deep voice, "Trespassing in the Governor’s Mansion is a capital offense. Surrender yourself now, and perhaps His Excellency, the Governor, might show mercy and spare your life. Resist, and we will kill you on the spot."

Ah Dai slowly raised his head. His black pupils gleamed with bloodshot intensity, and an overwhelming, domineering aura exploded outward in an instant, radiating bone-chilling killing intent that swept across the area like lightning.

Though the ten guards were well-trained, they were utterly powerless against someone of Ah Dai’s caliber. The irresistible wave of dominance struck them with such force that terror tightened their faces. One by one, they collapsed to the ground, bleeding from every orifice, lifeless. The combined potency of his dominating aura and killing intent had become an invisible executioner, shattering their wills and leaving them dead, overwhelmed by sheer fright.

Ah Dai paid no attention to the lives he had extinguished. Without hesitation, he continued walking toward Tiro and Rong Rong’s room. The disturbance quickly alerted more guards to his presence. Within just a few dozen meters, over a hundred guards had gathered to surround him. Yet, under the indomitable force of his aura, none dared approach him within ten meters. As he walked forward, the guards retreated step by step, not a single one brave enough to make a move. However, this was the Governor’s Mansion of Mica Province, the residence of one of the Empire’s key officials, and it harbored many skilled fighters. While the ordinary guards were frozen in fear, several figures sped in from all directions. Sensing the growing threat, Ah Dai’s footsteps finally halted.

Dozens of figures came to a standstill. These people wore plain attire, yet their imposing presence was suffused with the glow of various colored Battle Auras. Their expressions heavy with caution as they stared at Ah Dai. Among them, a short elder with arms extending past his knees spoke in a deep, resonant voice: "Who are you, daring to break into the Governor’s Mansion at night and commit murder? I am Randa, Guardian Leader of the Governor’s Mansion. State your name and purpose for being here." Randa oversaw all five hundred Forbidden Guards within the Mansion. Gifted from birth and a stalwart practitioner of martial arts over many years, he commanded great skill and was recognized as the mansion’s top fighter. Even Tiro addressed him respectfully as "Master Randa." Since taking charge of mansion security, he had maintained an impeccable track record, earning the full trust and appreciation of Governor Teirhaus. When he first heard of a lone man invading the mansion at night, he was taken aback. While the Governor’s Mansion was by no means an impenetrable fortress, it wasn’t a place for just anyone to waltz through. Leading skilled helpers, he rushed to confront the intruder. Upon witnessing Ah Dai’s youthful appearance, Randa let out a slight breath of relief. In his mind, although Ah Dai exuded an impressive aura on the surface, he was still just a youth in his twenties. How much could he truly achieve, even if he had been training since birth?

Ah Dai smiled after hearing Randa’s inquiry. It was a sinister, haunted smile, sending an involuntary chill down the spines of those surrounding him. "My purpose is simple: I’m here to kill. Is that satisfactory? If you leave now, I’ll spare your lives. As for my name, perhaps you’ve heard it before. I... am Death—Reaper—Ah—Dai!"

The name "Ah Dai" meant nothing to those gathered, but the title "Death Reaper" reverberated sharply through the guards’ hearts. Randa’s entire body jolted, and he exclaimed involuntarily, "Death Reaper... you’re the Death Reaper!" The name of the Death Reaper had long spread across the lands of both the Empire of Sunset City and Tian Jing. Years ago, he had left countless corpses in his wake within the Empire of Sunset City, and more recently, annihilated hordes of members belonging to the Assassin’s Guild. Randa struggled to believe that the youthful-looking man before him was the infamous Death Reaper who had become a legend throughout the continent. A wave of tension rippled through him.

Ah Dai met Randa’s gaze, his icy stare driving a piercing chill into Randa’s chest, prompting him to instinctively step back half a pace. Ah Dai moved again, continuing his advance toward Randa. The radiant white Battle Aura abruptly retracted, leaving him indistinguishable from an ordinary man. Step by step, he pressed closer. Though Randa felt the weight of the Death Reaper’s notorious reputation, as the foremost fighter of the Governor’s Mansion, retreat was not an option. Blue Battle Aura flared intensely around Randa’s body as his disproportionally long arms thrust forward with violent vigor. He reached for Ah Dai with claws of sharpened aura that whistled through the air, targeting Ah Dai’s face and chest. His arms stretched unnaturally in midair, extending nearly half a foot longer, quickly bringing him within striking distance.

Ah Dai’s heart churned with surging killing intent. Randa’s aggression exacerbated the murderous wrath burning inside him. The wicked grin on his lips grew more pronounced, and he let out a cold sneer. His voice pierced the air like a razor-sharp blade into Randa’s soul. Randa’s forward-reaching hands faltered for the briefest moment, and in that instant, he realized something terrifying. Where Ah Dai had previously stood exposed and defenseless, two glowing hands shimmering with silver light suddenly materialized in front of him.

"Thunk!" Randa’s full-force blue Battle Aura crashed into Ah Dai’s silver radiance, and to his shock, his normally indomitable aura failed to even dent the shimmering light. Simultaneously, Ah Dai’s hands clamped onto Randa’s bony fingers. His icy voice rang out: "You’ve brought this upon yourself." A crisp cracking sound rang through the night as Randa’s prized arms shattered into fragments. The unbearable impact of Ah Dai’s Life Battle Aura completely ruptured Randa’s heart and veins. Overcome with despair and unwillingness, Randa slowly crumpled to the ground before Ah Dai, lifeless.
