Chapter 1486: Chapter 161: Meeting the Maid Again_4

Ah Dai’s low voice startled the girl in pink, causing her to abruptly turn around. Just as she was about to scream, Ah Dai covered her mouth. He spoke in a deep voice, "Don’t scream. I mean no harm. I’m her friend. Tell me, what happened to her?"

The panic in the girl’s eyes gradually faded. She blinked at Ah Dai. Upon releasing his hand, she stared at him in fear, took two steps back, and shielded Tifya behind her. Her voice trembled as she asked, "Who... who are you? What do you want? Did the young master send you to harm my lady?"

Ah Dai frowned and said, "I already told you, I’m your lady’s friend. Tell me, what happened to her?"

The pink-clad girl remained wary. Wiping away her tears, she spoke with bitterness, "You must have been sent by the young master. How hateful you all are! Haven’t you harmed her enough already? If you want to kill her, then kill me first." She spread her arms and stood protectively in front of Tifya, glaring at Ah Dai with hatred.

Ah Dai noticed that Tifya’s breathing was growing fainter. Knowing time was of the essence, he waved his hand and a burst of white True Qi shot out, instantly restraining the frail girl in pink. With a gesture of pulling and releasing, he moved her aside and seated himself where she had been moments ago. From under the blanket, he lifted Tifya’s arm and channeled his True Qi to probe the state of her internal energy. Shock flashed repeatedly in Ah Dai’s eyes as he assessed her condition—it was far worse than he had imagined. Tifya’s body could only be described as decayed. Her internal functions were nearly entirely depleted, with only a faint heartbeat proving she was still alive. Her dire state was far worse than the injuries Mie Feng had sustained from the master’s attack that day. Except for a single breath of life, she was no different from the dead. A silver radiance emanated from Ah Dai’s palm, transforming into a ribbon of light that swiftly connected several points around Tifya’s heart, stimulating her organs with the vitality of True Qi. Simultaneously, his other hand continuously channeled threads of True Qi into Tifya’s body, nourishing her failing organs and meridians.

After a while, a faint flush of redness appeared on Tifya’s face, making her seem slightly better. Seeing this, the young maid finally realized Ah Dai truly meant no harm toward Tifya. Her eyes, previously filled with resentment, now showed excitement as she nervously observed the changes in Tifya’s condition.

Ah Dai took out the Dragon’s Blood from his chest and softly chanted his most powerful recovery magic in the light element, "Using the Dragon’s Blood as a guide, O mighty Sky God! I beseech you, unleash your limitless Divine Power upon me, to save this life before me and restore her vitality and spirit." A blue radiance flowed from the Dragon’s Blood, gradually transforming into white as it filled the room with an aura of divinity. Ah Dai continued his chant, "Light of Recovery, I command you in the name of the Sky God—release all your energy, lend me the power to heal, mend the wounds before me, and bring forth new life. —Divine Cure." This was a seventh-level recovery magic of the light element. Though its power was still far inferior to the Divine Healing Technique used by Xuan Yue and the Pope, it was far stronger than the Light Therapy Ah Dai had previously used to save Mie Feng.

A white six-pointed star appeared before Ah Dai, with golden light forming at its center. The golden markings on the Dragon’s Blood began to shine, and with the continuous infusion of Ah Dai’s True Qi, the seventh-level recovery magic was finally activated successfully. The golden light surged suddenly, its intensity temporarily robbing Ah Dai and the maid of their vision. The powerful healing energy of the golden light shot into Tifya’s chest. Under the infusion of golden radiance, Tifya’s frail body quivered violently, and her pale face was bathed in the glow, looking much more comfortable.

The golden light gradually subsided, and Ah Dai and the maid regained their vision. He once again directed True Qi into Tifya’s body, nervously sensing her condition. After a moment, Ah Dai’s expression changed. Though the immense Holy Power of the Divine Cure had indeed brought significant improvement, it had only healed most of Tifya’s internal injuries. Her damaged organs had not been fully repaired, and her lost vitality showed no signs of recovery. Recovery magic worked wonders on physical injuries, but for deep-seated ailments like Tifya’s, its effect was minimal. Even if the Pope himself executed the Divine Healing Technique, saving a gravely injured Tifya would be nearly impossible. Looking at the kind young girl before him, a trace of sorrow appeared in Ah Dai’s eyes. He had done all he could; even if he channeled all his True Qi into Tifya’s body, it would be futile in saving her.

With a casual wave, Ah Dai released the maid’s restraint. He let out a sigh and said, "I’m sorry. I’ve done my best. As the saying goes, medicine can cure no terminal disease; divinity aids only those predestined. Your lady’s ailment is far too severe. Alas, you must accept this with grace." Although he had only met Tifya once, Ah Dai felt a deep sense of kinship with her. Failing to save her left him feeling profoundly sorrowful.

The maid collapsed to her knees with a thud, sobbing as she cried, "Sir, please—I beg you, save my lady! You must have a way. My lady has suffered so much. Please, save her!"
