Chapter 146: Chapter 34 The Giant Dragon’s Egg_2

"My name is Ah Dai. Aunt, you don’t have to give me anything, I will save your people regardless." Faced with the gentle and kind Elf Queen, Ah Dai felt an overwhelming sense of familiarity. The Elf Queen had shown him a motherly love he had never experienced before.

Moon Scar went over to Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, saying, "Since the Death Mountain Range is so terrifying, we shouldn’t go there anymore. Brother Ah Dai, Miss Xuan Yue, I’m sorry, our Moon Scar Mercenary Corps cannot participate in the rescue mission of the Elves. After all, we still have to make our living on this continent, with many considerations to take into account. I’m sorry, Your Highness, even if you can guarantee our safety, for the sake of not involving our families, we can’t accept your request. Although the number of nobles in the three empires, Tian Jing, Sunset, and Washington, are not many, these nobles possess enormous strength. If they can hire several thieves from the Guild to perform their tasks, the nobles themselves must have considerable power. They can even know what is going on in every corner of the continent. Moon Scar can’t bear the consequences of opposing them. He also wants to help the Elf Clan, but he has a family, and he doesn’t want his parents to be implicated.

Yue Ji seemed to want to say something, but eventually didn’t. The atmosphere in the treehouse instantly fell a bit dense.

The Elf Queen shook her head and said in a low voice, "It’s alright. Everybody has their own ambitions, you have already helped us a lot. You are still friends of our Elf Clan."

Moon Scar nodded, left the treehouse, Yue Ji, Miao Fei, and Wan Li also followed him out.

The Elf Queen apologized, "I’m sorry for causing friction among you."

Yan Shi looked at Yan Li and asked, "What about you?"

Yan Li decisively nodded. Yan Shi had an approving look in his eyes and said, "Good, worthy of being my good brother, Yan Shi." After speaking, he rallied his energy, with a yellow aura shimmering in his right hand. His hand was like a knife as he swiftly shaved off all the brown hair on his head. Yan Li was doing the same thing too. After a while, they were both bald.

The Elf Queen and the Elf Envoys stared in surprise at what they were doing. Ah Dai couldn’t help but ask, "Brother Yan Shi, what are you doing?"

Yan Shi responded with a slight smile, "Good brother, our Pu Yan Clan has had a good relationship with the Elf Clan for generations. When they are in trouble, how can we stand by and do nothing? The most distinctive feature of our Pu Yan Clan is the brown hair on our heads. Only by cutting off these brown hair, can others be unable to distinguish our identity. This way we won’t cause trouble for our people. Your Majesty, we brothers have decided to help you find your missing people."

The Elf Queen’s eyes were filled with deep gratitude as she choked up and said, "Thank you, friends of the Pu Yan clan."

Ah Dai happily responded, "With the two brothers joining in, the chances of success increases. Yue Yue, what about you?"

Xuan Yue was taken aback, thought for a moment, and said, "Anyway, it’s an adventure, I’ll go too."

The Elf Queen whispered, "Young lady, you don’t have to force yourself. Make sure not to implicate your family. If anything harmful were to happen to you because of our Elf Clan, it wouldn’t be good."

Xuan Yue hesitated and then smiled, "Aunt, those nobles dare not offend my family. Don’t worry. I want to help you." She thought to herself that even if her father found out that she had offended the nobles, at the most he would scold her a bit. He shouldn’t be too hard on her.

Ah Dai nodded and replied, "Yeah, your dad is so powerful, who dares to offend him?"

Xuan Yue gave him a glare and said, "Can you speak less? Aunt Elf, what should we do to save your daughter and your people?"

The Elf Queen sighed, "What troubles me the most right now is not knowing where they were taken. The chances of being in the Federation are small. The other three empires, however, are all suspect."

Xuan Yue frowned and asked, "Aunt, how are we supposed to search such a large area! Even if we search the entire continent, we might not be able to find your daughter."

The Elf Queen replied, "I know it’s difficult, but to save them, I have some things for you. With these items, your actions will be much smoother." She then turned to look at the Elf Envoys, who all gave her a firm nod.

Without uttering a spell, the Elf Queen drew a green circle in front of her chest. Countless green light particles surged towards her from the surrounding air, the green circle shimmered with a gentle glow. As she silently recited something, the green light above her condensed into a clear green bracelet, radiating a soft halo. It was extremely beautiful.

The Elf Queen caught the bracelet in her hand, bit her finger, and let a drop of her blood merge into the bracelet. She chanted, "With my blood as a guide, and the spirit of nature as the medium, condense, Inquiry Ring." Her blood instantaneously melted into the green bracelet, the color deepened a bit and the central part of the bracelet started to glow. In the center of the bracelet, a red blood thread appeared, constantly shining with a faint halo. The Elf Queen then handed the bracelet to Xuan Yue, "This Inquiry Ring has my bloodline as a guide, and is very spiritual. Outside the Elf Forest, it would lose its glow, but, if an elf is within a hundred miles, it will glow automatically. The blood thread will point you in the direction of the elf. Whenever my daughter is within a hundred miles of the ring, the blood thread will condense into a ball. With this item, it will be much easier for you to find our people."
