Chapter 1459: Chapter 155 Assassin’s Guild_4
Another assassin said, "Who doesn’t know that you’re the infamous King of Killers? Thirty years as an assassin, and your murderous streak hasn’t changed one bit. You’re a born killer!"
"Haha! Someone like me is the epitome of a qualified assassin! Isn’t it my ruthless nature that the Master appreciates? By the way, the Master mentioned earlier that after tomorrow’s daytime training, everyone can relax in the evening. Apparently, the Grand Duke is hosting a banquet to entertain us elite assassins. I wonder what kind of beauties the Grand Duke will bring to offer us this time. I could really use a chance to let loose."
The Vice President chuckled lewdly, "Oh, relaxation won’t be an issue – the Grand Duke’s offerings are never disappointing. But, be careful not to let those little temptresses drain you so much that your hands and legs go weak – can’t even lift your sword. Haha."
The assassin blushed and replied, "I’m quite disciplined, actually – no more than three rounds a night. Indulging every now and then doesn’t hurt though, right?"
"Honestly, were it not for that so-called Grim Reaper kid, we might’ve never known that the headquarters is actually located inside the Grand Duke’s Mansion. Every time the Master summoned us before, it was always to one of the branch divisions. But this time, we’ve uncovered quite a few secrets of the Guild!"
The Vice President grunted and said, "Do you really think knowing more of the organization’s secrets is a good thing? The more you know, the greater your chance of meeting a grim end. Sometimes, it’s better to be blind and deaf, knowing nothing at all."
Hearing this, Ah Dai couldn’t help but feel elated in his heart. He understood perfectly well that once the banquet was held, the vigilance of these Assassin’s Guild experts would undoubtedly be reduced. That would be the ideal moment for him to strike.
The Vice President continued to chat with the assassins as they wandered deeper into the courtyard, their conversation revolving persistently around the debauchery planned for the banquet tomorrow night. Taking advantage of their gradual distance, Ah Dai pressed against the wall behind him and, under the cover of darkness, quietly slipped out of the Grand Duke’s Mansion. He had already made up his mind: tomorrow night, he would unleash all his strength to slaughter the assassins in this place.
Mie Feng noticed Ah Dai sneaking out of the mansion and hurriedly approached him, asking in a low voice, "How are things? Are the guards inside strict? When are you planning to make your move?"
Ah Dai nodded, cautiously glanced around, then whispered, "Let’s go back to the inn to discuss further." Without waiting for another word, he pulled Mie Feng back along the way they had come.
Hidden in the shadows, Xi Wen and his group watched in surprise as Ah Dai left so quickly. Yan Li remarked, "He’s out already. Could he have gotten his revenge? No way. With so many assassins returning here months ago, even if they let him kill them without resistance, it wouldn’t go that fast!"
Yan Shi mused, "No, something’s off. Ah Dai likely didn’t act tonight. Otherwise, there would’ve been some sort of commotion in the Assassin’s Guild. He’s become much more composed than he was before. Tonight must’ve been reconnaissance, but he won’t delay for long. He’ll definitely make a move within these next few days."
Xi Wen nodded in agreement, "That sounds right. Alright, let’s head back to rest. We should still monitor the situation here in shifts. Yan Li, you keep an eye out here, and if there’s any movement, call for us immediately."
The night deepened, and the streets were left with only a scattering of pedestrians—or more accurately, gamblers thrown out of casinos after losing everything. Back in the inn’s room, Ah Dai spoke with excitement to Mie Feng, "Mie Feng, thank you. At last, I’ve found the Assassin’s Guild’s core stronghold. I overheard them talking inside – tomorrow night they’ll be hosting some banquet. That will be my best chance to act. Tomorrow, you shouldn’t come with me. As long as I survive, I will return here to find you."
Mie Feng’s eyes revealed a hint of sorrow. Softly, she replied, "Tomorrow, you must be careful. If things don’t go as planned, retreat immediately, understood?"
Ah Dai replied with determination, "I won’t retreat. Until every assassin is annihilated, I won’t leave that place. Owen, Uncle Owen, may your Heavenly Spirit bless me so I can find the Master and avenge your and my master’s daughter’s blood feud. Mie Feng, return to your room and rest. Before tomorrow night, don’t disturb me. I need to meditate and ensure I’m in peak condition."
Mie Feng nodded quietly, "Alright then. Tomorrow night, I’ll see you off." With that, she lowered her head and left the room.
Ah Dai took a deep breath, calming his excitement, and sat cross-legged on the bed. He began channeling the Liquid Life Essence in his Dantian according to the method outlined in the Shengsheng Technique. The five-inch-tall Golden Body within him radiated brilliance under his deliberate control, while the dense liquid True Qi cycled endlessly, rising to the Heavenly Spirit and descending to the bubbling spring beneath. Within moments, a sense of warmth and serenity enveloped him, and his consciousness fully immersed into the meditative practice. Perhaps because his desire for revenge was nearing fulfillment, the flow of True Qi through his meridians felt exceptionally smooth, and his power quietly grew without resistance.
After completing eighty-one cycles of cultivation, Ah Dai felt that he had achieved his optimal state. The True Qi within him surged, ready to explode. The secondary Golden Body at his chest seemed to have shrunk further, while the Golden Body within his Dantian had expanded close to six inches tall. He knew that the night’s training had further increased his abilities. Slowly, he gathered the circulating True Qi from his meridians back into his Dantian.
Awakening from his meditative state, Ah Dai glanced outside to see the darkening sky. Distant in the horizon, a fading sunset gradually sank below. The day had transitioned into the second evening. Ah Dai’s lips curled into a cruel smile. Assassin’s Guild, Master, here I come. The Grim Reaper will claim every one of your sinful souls.
