Chapter 142: Chapter 33: Elf City_3
The Elf Queen’s eyes also sparkled with a cold light as she spoke, "Tian Ying, where are those friends who have come to help us? Can we trust them?"
Tian Ying replied respectfully, "Your Majesty, they’re currently resting near the Elf Lake. They should be trustworthy. Do you recall Yan Fei, the Clan Leader of the Pu Yan Clan? His son, along with others, are part of the group. The young boy who repelled our enemies is still unconscious. I believe they won’t pose a threat to our clan."
The Elf Queen sighed, "Very well, gather the other Elf Envoys. I need to discuss some matters. Perhaps we do need help from these foreign friends."
In a treehouse on the shore of Elf Lake, as everyone was enjoying sweet fruits, Ah Dai slowly woke up from his stupor. He was engulfed by a feeling of extreme weakness. He moved his limbs slightly, involuntarily groaning. His True Qi was nearly depleted, with only a faint energy fluctuation remaining, and his spiritual power was completely drained from urging the Dragon’s Blood.
Xuan Yue was the first to notice that Ah Dai had awakened. She quickly grabbed his hand and asked worriedly, "Ah Dai, how are you feeling? Is anything wrong with your body?"
Ah Dai shook his head and replied, "I’m okay, just feeling tired. Yue Yue, where are we?"
The others crowded around, and Moon Scar said, "We’ve arrived within the Elf Clan territory. This is the Elf City."
Ah Dai nodded and asked, "Are the Elves safe now?"
Xuan Yue replied, "Don’t worry, the enemies have all disappeared. Many members of the Elf Clan came afterward and brought us here. Here, have some fruit first." Saying this, she handed over a purple fruit.
Ah Dai tried to reach out and take it but didn’t have the strength to do so. His arm dropped onto the grass, causing Xuan Yue to furrow her brows, her eyes filled with pain. She bit the fruit gently, making a small opening before pushing it towards Ah Dai’s mouth. The pale purple juice flowed into Ah Dai’s mouth, and he swallowed continuously until eventually, he had consumed all the juice in the fruit.
Xuan Yue discarded the fruit peel and asked, "Do you want more? There’s plenty."
Ah Dai gazed gratefully at Xuan Yue, he gently shook his head and softly thanked, "Thank you, Yue Yue."
Xuan Yue, recalling how she just fed Ah Dai, blushed and shook her head, saying, "What’s there to thank? Aren’t we friends?"
Miao Fei chuckled and said, "And very close friends at that! I think it’s time for you to explain, Ah Dai - how did you manage to scare off those bandits?"
At Miao Fei’s question, Ah Dai was instantly reminded of the murder in the forest. The image of the man turning into a corpse was vivid in his mind, and he felt a wave of nausea wash over him; he suddenly turned to the side and started vomiting violently. Everyone was startled; Yan Shi rushed toward him, patting him on the back, and asked with concern, "Brother, what’s wrong?"
After a while, when Ah Dai had nothing left to vomit, he stopped. His gaze blank, he whispered, "I...I didn’t mean to, I didn’t want to kill them."
Yan Shi sighed in relief, "I thought it was something serious. What’s wrong in killing a few men? I’ve killed way more than you have. They were all evildoers and deserved to die."
Yue Ji leaned forward, asking, "Take it this was your first time killing somebody, Ah Dai?"
Ah Dai nodded blankly, his voice lost as he said, "I...I didn’t want to kill him, they forced me."
Miao Fei replied, "What’s the big deal in killing a few people? Now, tell us, Ah Dai - how did you kill that skilled man in black? Who knew you were such a dark horse!"
Ah Dai lifted his eyes to look at Miao Fei, and after recalling the scene of him using the Sword of Hades, his eyes showed fear, and with a trembling voice said, "No, I...I don’t know, I don’t know."
Miao Fei frowned, saying, "You don’t know? How can you not know when you killed him, tell us, I’m really curious."
Suddenly, Xuan Yue pushed Miao Fei away and yelled angrily, "Stop pressuring him! Can’t you see how much pain he’s in? Let him rest a bit." She hugged Ah Dai’s upper body into her arms, laying his head on her thigh, and looking at his pain-ridden face, she felt a surge of heartache. Her beautiful eyes turned red, and tears fell onto Ah Dai’s shoulder.
Moon Scar signaled everyone to back off, pulling Miao Fei away to a corner of the treehouse. Everyone withdrew quietly, not wanting to disturb Xuan Yue and Ah Dai any further.
Gently stroking Ah Dai’s black hair, Xuanyue murmured, "It’s okay, it’s over now." She knew very well the contradiction between Ah Dai’s kind nature and the evil Sword of Hades. The stimulation he received was too much. How could he accept it?
Under Xuan Yue’s gentle touch, Ah Dai finally calmed down, holding Xuan Yue’s hand to his face, inhaling her faint scent, and peacefully fell asleep. Viewing his serene sleeping face, Xuan Yue felt contented. Allowing Ah Dai to hold onto her hand, she nestled her face in his hair and gradually fell asleep.
After what felt like an eternity, Ah Dai felt someone shaking his body. He slowly opened his eyes to see Yan Shi squatting beside him, calling his name.
