Chapter 1272: Chapter 116: Yajin Clan Leader_2
With Xuan Yue’s laughter, all the waitress girls also burst into giggles, filling the hall with delightful, bell-like sounds.
Ah Dai, seeing the Warrior’s face flushed red, softened his heart and withdrew his True Qi immediately; "Thump, thump, thump," the Warrior staggered back several steps, falling onto his behind right at the entrance of the spiral staircase. He touched his smooth head and said in humiliation and anger, "Fine, kid, you just wait." With these harsh words, he scrambled and rolled back upstairs.
Xuan Yue took hold of Ah Dai’s arm, excitedly exclaiming, "Big brother, you were awesome! Let’s see if that bald gorilla dares to be arrogant again."
Ah Dai smiled wryly and said, "Brother, I intercepted it because I was afraid you’d hit him too hard. You can’t just think about killing people whenever something comes up!" As it turned out, at the moment the Warrior attempted to grab Xuan Yue, Xuan Yue had been ready to kill him with Phoenix’s Blood. Ah Dai clearly felt the intense killing intent emanating from Xuan Yue. Although she was a Mage, she was of a Mage Instructor level; the Warrior’s attack, however fast, wouldn’t have done any good. It was to avoid a fatality—and to stand up for Xuan Yue—that Ah Dai had stepped forward, saving the Warrior’s life in the process.
The waitresses gathered around again, startling Ah Dai; he feared facing the same predicament as Xuan Yue just had and quickly said, "Ladies, please clear out. The person we’ve offended is the Clan Leader of the Yajin Tribe; if he finds out you aided us, I fear he won’t let you off so easily."
The waitresses halted their approach, with one of them saying, "Then, then you must ensure Da Hei and Er Hei’s lives are spared!"
Olivia promised with all his heart, "Don’t worry, with us here, no one can harm them."
Once the waitresses dispersed, Ah Dai and Xuan Yue both let out a sigh of relief, and upon looking at each other, couldn’t help but laugh together.
Olivia, with a look of resignation, said, "You two bosses are really something, offending the biggest authority of the Yajin Tribe before even leaving Andis City."
Xuan Yue glared at him and retorted, "If you’re scared, you might as well hurry back to the Mage Guild. Since this is supposed to be a trial, one must experience everything. Besides, those two little sea dogs are so pitiful! Shouldn’t we rescue them?"
Olivia thought to himself, weren’t you just enjoying eating animals back in the private room? "Fine, then I’ll just have to risk my life in the company of nobles." In fact, he felt not a shred of fear at heart. With Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, equivalent to Mage Instructors, here, whoever came would likely leave at a disadvantage, and it wouldn’t be impossible to fight their way out of Andis City if need be. He still vividly remembered how Ah Dai had shattered the defenses of the Larthas Eight-Turn Flame Dragon.
Xuan Yue leaned over the edge of the pool, watching the two sea dogs swim back and forth, and spoke softly, "Don’t worry, we will surely protect you."
Footsteps sounded from above, and Ah Dai discerned from the noise that there were seven people. The bald-headed Warrior appeared first, pointing at Ah Dai’s group and saying, "It’s them." Behind him was a middle-aged man in extravagant clothing, his brows deeply furrowed with a look of urgency. He strode quickly to the front of Ah Dai’s trio and asked, "Esteemed Mage masters, what is the meaning of this? How did you come into conflict with the Clan Leader’s trusted aide?" The sea dogs were his beloved pets; how could he bear to let someone eat them? But he couldn’t afford to offend the Yajin Clan Leader either. Faced with the three young Mages before him, he felt extremely troubled.
Xuan Yue coldly said, "You should ask that bald gorilla. Who let him be so arrogant?"
"It seems to me that you are the arrogant ones." A charming voice rang out, and a young girl in a light yellow dress descended. She wore an expression of anger, radiating an invisible aura of authority. The girl had a tall and slender figure with an exceedingly beautiful appearance, looking to be in her twenties. Her long golden hair cascaded down her back, and her fair complexion was framed by a pair of sapphire-like large eyes. She had a white sword sheath hanging at her waist, with golden tassels swaying gently. As her gaze met Xuan Yue’s, she paused slightly, a trace of unusual light flickering in her eyes.
The bald-headed Warrior respectfully said to the girl, "Clan Leader, they prevented the chef from catching the two sea dogs and even humiliated me."
Ah Dai and Xuan Yue both felt a shock to their hearts; they had imagined the Clan Leader of the Yajin Tribe to be an old man over fifty, but instead, it was a girl in the bloom of youth.
The girl descended the spiral staircase, with four people following her, two of whom were dressed like the bald-headed Warrior, while the other two were middle-aged men with red hair. Ah Dai distinctly sensed that among these people, the two red-haired individuals were the most powerful, followed not by the girl’s guards, but by the girl herself. The strength of the two red-haired individuals seemed even beyond that of the Blood Skull, prompting Ah Dai to be on guard.
The girl, staring at Xuan Yue, asked, "Are you from the Mage Guild?"
Olivia replied, "Hello, Clan Leader Di Ya, we are from the continental Mage Guild." As he looked at the beautiful Yajin Clan Leader, a spark of heat flickered in his eyes.
Di Ya glanced at Olivia and said, "This is the land of the Yajin Tribe, not the Empire of Huasheng. I hope you don’t stir up trouble. I can disregard this matter if you leave immediately." After all, they were Mages, and she felt compelled to show some courtesy.
