Chapter 1268: Chapter 115 Golden Jade Restaurant_3

Xuan Yue was raised in the holy church and had never seen a sea dog before. The sight of the two rotund creatures filled her with delight, "How adorable! What are these?"

The waiter explained, "These are sea dogs our boss brought from the Tian Jing Empire Seashore. They are here for ornamental purposes and are very gentle by nature. Since they are from the harshly cold seashores of the far north and our local temperature is quite high, the pool water here is not only freshly brought from the seashore but also augmented with Ice Magic by mages of the Water Element on a regular basis. This makes the water much colder than usual so that they can adapt. These sea dogs have been living here for over two years and are very well-behaved." The waiter, looking at the sea dogs’ chubby bodies, showed a knowing smile, clearly very fond of them.

Olivia said, "These sea dogs are one of the attractions of the Golden Jade Building, and they are very rare in the inland areas. Xuan Re, haven’t you seen them before?"

Xuan Yue leaned over the pool railing, her gaze following the swimming sea dogs, "Yes, I’ve never seen them before! So there are such cute creatures as these. Can I touch them?" Xuan Yue looked hopefully at the waiter.

The waiter hesitated for a moment, then smiled and said, "Normally, guests are not supposed to make contact with them, but as mages from the mainland Mage Guild, you are our esteemed guests. The boss wouldn’t mind, so let’s make an exception this time." Saying so, she walked to the poolside, picked up a small bucket and came back, "Here are the small fish they love. If you feed them a few, they will become friendly with you."

Xuan Yue excitedly took the bucket, picked a small fish, leaned over the water, and shook it towards the sea dogs, "Come on! Here’s some tasty food for you."

Whether they heard Xuan Yue’s call or smelled the food, both sea dogs simultaneously poked their heads out of the water. Their bodies were about one meter long, their dark red pupils fixated on the small fish in Xuan Yue’s hand. They quickly swam over, their brisk paces contrasting with their bulky figures. Seeing them swim over, Xuan Yue was incredibly thrilled. With two splashes, the sea dogs emerged from the pool right in front of her, splashing her sleeves wet. The slightly bigger sea dog moved faster and swallowed the fish from Xuan Yue’s hand in one gulp. Xuan Yue took the opportunity to gently touch its shiny head, and it did not resist, just chewing on the delicious food in its mouth. Xuan Yue then took another small fish from the bucket and fed the other sea dog.

Olivia watched Xuan Yue playing tirelessly with the sea dogs and whispered to Ah Dai, "Big Brother Ah Dai, isn’t Xuan Re behaving just like a girl, all chirpy and excited?"

Ah Dai, watching Xuan Yue’s excited expression, smiled nonchalantly and said, "He has been living in the church since he was young. Naturally, he is thrilled to see something new. Let him play for a little while."

Xuan Yue fed the entire bucket of fish to the two sea dogs before she reluctantly stood up. Her sleeves were completely wet with the icy pool water. Rubbing her cold hands together, she turned to Ah Dai, "Brother, they are really adorable. If I have a chance in the future, I’d like to keep two of them in the church as well."

Ah Dai smiled and said, "Better not. They have a free and easy life in the ocean, which can’t be compared to being confined in a pool. Let’s go eat instead."

Xuan Yue nodded, her eyes lingering on the pool where the sea dogs seemed to be bidding her farewell with their gaze, "Yes, it’s so sad they are confined here!"

Following the waiter up the spiral staircase, they arrived on the second floor which was entirely reserved for private rooms, each room adjoining the next. The waiter led them to the largest room at the end, "This is the best private room on the second floor. Mage, is this okay for you?"

The room was lavishly decorated with a round table at the center large enough to seat fifteen people. All the utensils were made of silver, and there was even a bathroom inside the room – very considerate arrangements.

Ah Dai remarked, "It really lives up to being the biggest restaurant in Andis City, truly luxurious! Vila, since you’re our host, why don’t you order?"

"Sure." Olivia took the menu from the waiter and started flipping through it, "Let’s have a mixed snail dish, a portion of Northern Sea ice crab, three servings of lobster wings..." After a while, he had ordered more than a dozen dishes before Ah Dai said it was enough, and he stopped, "Alright, these will do. Make sure all the ingredients are fresh and hurry up. Oh, and bring us a pot of your signature dish first."

"Yes, Mage," the waiter said, taking the noted order and leaving.

Ah Dai said, "Vila, why so many dishes? Can we even eat all that? It’s too extravagant."

Olivia laughed, "I seldom eat such expensive food, but this is to apologize on behalf of Teacher Feng Zhi, isn’t it? How can we be stingy? Don’t worry, the dishes here are not large but are all very exquisite, uLocal Teacher Feng Zhi, regretting now at the Guild.
