Chapter 1230: Chapter 106 Heart Torn Apart_3

Ah Dai stared dumbfounded as he listened to Xuan Yue’s words, muttering, "Brother, I’m sorry, I..." He sighed deeply, made up his mind, and since he had already refused, he wouldn’t explain further. Ending this relationship might not be a bad thing after all. As long as he no longer saw Yue Yue, she would eventually forget about him.

Xuan Yue, a bit impatient, said, "Don’t say sorry, you haven’t done anything to apologize to me or my sister for. How can one force feelings? Anyway, we haven’t eaten anything all day, I’m hungry, and I think you are too, so let’s go have some food first, then visit the Mage Guild and the Mercenary Guild. You used to say that you would listen to me no matter what." She just wanted to distract herself from thinking about anything related to Ah Dai, as the pain in her heart was nearly driving her mad. If she didn’t distract herself, she feared she might actually go crazy.

Ah Dai nodded, put on his coat, and said, "Then let’s go now." Both of them, with heavy hearts, casually ate at the inn, chewing the tasteless food and mechanically swallowing it down, ending the meal in silence.

Andis City was located in the northwestern part of the continent. Although it wasn’t as cold as the City of Nino, there was still a slight chill. Today, the sky was cloudy, with the sun hiding behind the clouds, only occasionally showing a faint light. Andis City boasted the largest Mage Guild on the continent, of course, including both the Tian Jing Empire’s Mage Guild and the continental Mage Guild combined. Both guilds, each commanding about a third of the power in the large city, had always been competing, with the continental Mage Guild always prevailing due to its numerical superiority and long history. Both guilds had very large buildings, facing each other across the wide central avenue of Andis City. Although the mages from both guilds sometimes came into conflict, due to the intervention of the Yajin Tribe, no significant damage had occurred. Today, the usual traffic of mages entering and exiting both guilds was unusually quiet, and there seemed to be a heavy atmosphere in the air.

"Big brother, shall we go to the continental Mage Guild?" asked Xuan Yue, quietly looking at the two similar buildings.

Ah Dai nodded, saying, "Didn’t you say yesterday that you wanted to come to the Mage Guild to validate your own strength? Let’s go get your level confirmed first." Since leaving the inn that morning, both were intentionally avoiding each other, even their conversations revolved around trivial matters.

"But, which one is the continental Mage Guild?" Xuan Yue voiced her confusion.

Ah Dai was startled, indeed, both buildings looked nearly identical, both fronts were emptily unmarked, and he hadn’t clarified during his earlier inquiries which was which.

Xuan Yue grabbed Ah Dai’s hand, saying, "Let’s just pick one. If it’s not the right one, then it must be the other." Saying this, she pulled Ah Dai toward the Mage Guild on the northern side.

The Mage Guild was surprisingly quiet. Not only were there no mages coming and going, but when they entered the main hall, they also did not see a single mage. Xuan Yue walked to the center of the magic hexagram drawn on the hall floor and shouted, "Is anyone there?" There was no response, and Xuan Yue huffed, "That passerby said Andis City has the most mages on the continent. Where are they all?"

Ah Dai also felt it strange. No matter which Mage Guild it was, it shouldn’t be this quiet early in the morning. Could something have happened? It can’t just be a coincidence.

"Who’s there! What are you yelling for? Don’t you know this is the Mage Guild?" a somewhat hoarse voice called out.

Ah Dai and Xuan Yue looked toward the direction the voice came from, and a middle-aged mage in a red magic robe, clearly a Fire Mage, emerged from the back of the hall.

Ah Dai hurried forward, politely saying, "Hello, we’re here for a magic certification. Why are there so few people here?"

The middle-aged mage eyed Ah Dai and Xuan Yue, who were plainly dressed, and said, "The guild isn’t conducting mage certifications today, but you can stay here until the branch chief returns and then get your certification. However, you must first perform some magic to verify that you indeed are mages."

Xuan Yue frowned, "A guild this big and there’s no one available to conduct certifications?" She didn’t cast any spell, just casually waved her hand and a light bullet immediately flew towards the mage.

The middle-aged mage was shocked, having never seen magic performed without a spell. In his panic, unable to use magic to defend himself, he had no choice but to step backward and duck.

Xuan Yue pursed her lips, smiled, and with a slight movement of her spiritual power, skillfully controlled the light bullet to chase after the crouching mage. The mage’s face turned pale under the brightness of the white light; just when he thought he was going to be hit, with just a pop, the light bullet disappeared. Laughter like silver bells echoed through the hall from Xuan Yue, as if she was releasing the dissatisfaction of the previous day.

Seeing Xuan Yue laugh, Ah Dai relaxed slightly, not blaming her for the prank.
