Chapter 1149: Chapter 89 Death Ambush_2
Ballon suddenly leapt up from the ground, his eyes flashing with complex emotions.
Ballon said, "Tell me, do you like Yue Yue?"
Ballon nodded firmly.
"That’s settled then. Since you’ve identified your target, you ought to pursue it steadfastly. Even if you truly fail, at least you’ll have tried. Could you live with any regrets? Where is Yue Yue now?"
Revived by his father’s words, hope reignited in Ballon’s heart, "Yue Yue left the church three days ago, she might be looking for that kid named Ah Dai."
Ballon slapped his son on the head, scolding, "You fool, Yue Yue has left and you are still not going after her. Do you think by sitting here, Yue Yue will end up in your arms? If you let her spend more time with that kid, and they do something, you’ll have no chance. Get lost, don’t make me watch you mope around here."
"I’ll go right now," Ballon turned and ran out, but was grabbed by Ballon. "Wait," he pulled out a golden Token from his chest and stuffed it into his son’s hand, "With my Token, Sacrifice Halls everywhere will assist you. Yue Yue’s appearance is easy to recognize, the rest is up to your efforts."
Ballon clutched the Token tightly and, looking into his father’s encouraging eyes, said excitedly, "Dad, thank you. I won’t let you down." With that, he ran out of the room.
Ballon smiled softly to himself, "That’s like my son, wishing you good luck, kid." He was about to leave the room when Luo Shui rushed in, "What’s gotten into our son? Why did he dash out so eagerly?"
Ballon chuckled, "That silly boy is troubled by love. I’ve straightened him out. Don’t worry. He’s gone to chase Yue Yue. I believe our son can do it. So, how about some reward for me?"
Luo Shui glared at Ballon, "With those half-baked efforts of yours to counsel our son?"
Ballon boasted, "If I weren’t so capable, how could I have chased such a great beauty like you?" Saying this, he wrapped his arms around Luo Shui.
Luo Shui’s face turned red, murmuring, "I only agreed out of pity for you back then. How dare you hug me without permission, get on with your chores, don’t complete them today and you’ll be sleeping on the sofa tonight." With that, she slipped from her husband’s embrace and ran off with a triumphant smile.
Ballon sighed bitterly, helplessly following behind her.
One month later, in the Illusive Forest.
Ah Dai stood in front of the wooden house, quietly watching the mist before him. It was time to pray for Goris once again. Since he’d received Goris’ Wish, he always felt Goris was by his side, so every morning before breakfast, he silently prayed for a while.
For a whole year, Ah Dai repeated the same routine almost daily: morning prayers for Goris, breakfast, and the rest of the day spent immersed in the intricate devices Goris had left behind. Over the year, his Martial arts skills made little progress—he still hadn’t broken through the eighth Realm of the life-giving formula to reach the ultimate level—but he had thoroughly studied each of the intricate devices according to Goris’ notes, deeply indulging in the crystallization of Goris’ wisdom. Goris’ Wish had also become his best companion; after a year of effort, it had become the first Divine Artifact Ah Dai fully controlled. Ah Dai discovered that Goris’ Wish not only had the ability to Instant Teleport three times a day and create a Clone for an hour but that its Instant Teleportation could also affect other objects. Ah Dai’s favorite was the Clone ability. Whenever he felt lonely, he would summon his own Clone. Initially, the Clone would mimic his actions, but over time, Ah Dai found he could control the Clone with spiritual power. To achieve this, his nightly meditation had turned into thoughtful contemplation. With the True Qi flowing through his body, and the original practice of controlling the Qi for combat, Ah Dai’s spiritual power was already strong. With continual contemplative practice, his progress was rapid. He could now have the Clone do anything he wished. With just a thought, Goris’ Wish would respond to his instructions.
Ah Dai kept Goris’ final exhortation in his letter in mind. He did not venture into practicing all the Magic Goris had left, only the Space Seal that interested him the most. With this spell, he could store many items even without needing Dragon’s Blood. All of Goris’ creations were sealed away by him using the Space Seal.
After the prayer, Ah Dai rose and became a wisp of a shadow entering the orchard. Using his memory, he accurately caught one sweet fruit after another in the bamboo basket with the Qi turned into threads. Returning to the wooden house, Ah Dai sat on the step, eating fruit and reckoning the days since his arrival. Excluding the initial days below, he was surprised to find that a whole year had already passed. Ah Dai sighed, "Time flies so fast. It’s already been a year. Master Goris, I have fulfilled my promise. Now, I’m off to avenge Uncle Owen. I think you won’t stop me. No matter how long it takes, I will fulfill this last wish. If I’m still alive by then, I will return to accompany you for a lifetime."
