Chapter 112: Chapter 27 Pu Yan History_2

Ah Dai asked, "Prophet Pu Lin, I am not entirely clear about what you’re suggesting. Are you asking for us to do something for your Pu Yan tribe?

Pu Lin replied, "You could say that, of course, I won’t ask for your help for nothing. First, let me tell you the full story, and then I’ll explain how our Pu Yan tribe requires your assistance. Whether within the Federation or across the entire continent, our Pu Yan tribe can be denoted as one of the oldest tribes in history. We are the earliest humans on the continent. Our tribe’s history can be traced back to over ten thousand years ago, long before the formation of the current three Empires and the Federation after the Demon God was sealed by the first Pope, the Savior of that time." Pu Lin walked over to the cavern wall and pointed at a mural and said, "Look at this."

Ah Dai and Xuan Yue followed his finger to the mural. Under the weak light of the gemstones, the colors in the mural had already peeled off significantly. It portrayed multiple people in clothing made from animal skins, wielding primitive weapons, and rushing towards a particular direction. Among them, a burly man with disheveled brown hair and an excited expression lifted his spear as if calling out to something. Pu Lin explained, "This is the most intact ancient mural preserved by our Pu Yan tribe. These tribesmen in the mural are our tribe’s ancestors. The burly man is our tribe’s first Clan Leader. As to how old this mural is, I’m not sure, but it certainly wouldn’t be less than ten thousand years. Back then, our ancestors led a very primitive lifestyle. From then on, our Pu Yan tribe became the race that cherished nature the most."

Pu Lin moved a few steps forward and pointed to the second mural, "This likely depicts the scene a thousand years after the first mural."

The second mural showed a valley, with caves set into the mountainside. The Pu Yan tribesmen, dressed in cloth, were continually entering and exiting these caves. Pu Lin explained, "After a thousand years of development, our Pu Yan tribe had started establishing its own civilization. Though they still lived in caves, they had begun farming." He didn’t explain much further, advanced a few more steps, and pointed to the third mural, which displayed thousands of Pu Yan tribesmen dressed in neat leather armor, carrying long-handled battle axes, arranged in tidy lines, exhibiting a very aggressive stance. Pu Lin explained, "This was the state of the Pu Yan tribespeople around five thousand years ago. We were already heading towards becoming a powerful tribe. Don’t these warriors look familiar? Yes, they are the prototypes of the Tilu warriors in the temple. Now look at the fourth mural."

The fourth mural portrayed a single man, a burly man with rippled muscles. He was wearing a simple cloth trouser, his upper body bare, and was holding a long-handled battle axe above his head as if roaring out something, his whole body radiating a dazzling yellow light. Pu Lin, with a reverence in his eyes, sighed and said, "The man in this mural is our Pu Yan tribe’s greatest hero, the Tilu God of War. He led our tribe towards its most glorious days. The Tilu temple that stands today was built to memorialize him. Under the Tilu God of War’s leadership, our tribe’s territory expanded rapidly. In thirty years, three-quarters of the continent was entirely occupied by our Pu Yan tribe. We can say that the continent at that time was called the Pu Yan continent. Our dispersed tribesmen intermarried with some of the other backward tribes in the region, which resulted in the varied skin tones of humans on the continent today. Apart from the equally ancient Nan Chuo people, our Pu Yan tribe can be said to be the ancestors of the people on the current continent. Ah, you probably don’t know this, but the present Empire of Huasheng is descended from the Nan Chuo people. The Nan Chuo people, unlike our tribe, didn’t aspire to expand their territory; they were a peaceful race. Although they only occupied a small part of the continent, they had our respect and coexisted peacefully. Time proved that the Nan Chuo people were more intelligent than us, at least they still hold nearly a quarter of the continent."

As Pu Lin spoke of the Pu Yan tribe ruling over three-quarters of the continent, his eyes sparkled with pride and excitement, as if he had been there himself. Especially when he looked at the mural of the Tilu God of War, his eyes were filled with reverence and admiration. Ah Dai and Xuan Yue were deeply engrossed in his story, quietly listening to Pu Lin’s narration, entirely immersed in the tales from thousands of years ago.

Pu Lin walked up to the fifth mural, the largest in the cavern, occupying nearly a fifth of the cavern wall. The mural resembled the present Pu Yan tribe’s village, with stone houses everywhere and joyful smiles on everyone’s face. Everyone was busy with their work, making it look like a golden age. Pu Lin sighed and said, "Our Pu Yan tribe’s heyday lasted for three thousand years. In those three thousand years, we were the indisputable rulers of the continent. This was the scene of that time, similar communities existed in every corner of the continent."
