Chapter 1069: Chapter 72 Marchioness_4
Ah Dai and the three others were running swiftly. Zhuo Yunfei took to the air, a green radiance emanating from her, surrounded by abundant vegetation, the perfect setting to use her Magic of Nature. Under her rapid spell casting, the nearby plants suddenly grew wildly, forming barriers that hindered the pursuing guards. The group moved incredibly fast and reached the manor walls in an instant. Ah Dai and the Yan Shi brothers leapt up, floating out of the manor, and fleeing frantically in one direction. The Silver Lady stood by the window, watching the figures of Ah Dai and his companions leave and knowing that her subordinates had no chance of catching up. She dared not recklessly follow, especially since the Sword of Hades the Grim Reaper carried posed a significant threat to her. The rage in her eyes burned fiercely; like the Catwoman, she was one of the twelve great Kings of Heaven of the Mysterious Organization. Watching her beloved "pet" being stolen, and being pushed to such a humiliating state fueled her anger to its peak.
The commotion had not yet disturbed the outside; the city of Mica City was unusually silent in the deep night. The clear skies and moonlight brought a faint glow to the dim land. The four headed towards the southern city gate. Before long, they saw the broad city tower. There were many guards at the city gate. Ah Dai looked at Yan Shi and asked, "Big brother, what do we do now? Charge out?"
Yan Shi shook his head and said, "Let’s climb over the city wall. Don’t make too big a scene."
Ah Dai looked worriedly at the blanket in his hands, the body of the young Elf within, its temperature continuously rising. He knew this must be a consequence of ingesting that something called the Harmony Dew; he had not come across such poison in Goris’s notes. Now, they needed to find a safe place to come up with a way to detoxify him.
The four of them carefully made their way to a corner of the city tower, quietly climbing up. Holding someone, Ah Dai utilized his exquisite energy of True Qi to spin a fine thread, which he used to pull himself up. The city wall guards were not particularly vigilant, with most soldiers dozing off. Without alerting any soldiers, the four successfully left the city and sprinted southwestward at great speed. Only after running out more than ten miles, when Mica City had turned into a shadow behind them, did they stop to catch their breath. Zhuo Yun excitedly approached Ah Dai, saying, "Did we rescue another one of our Clan members? Quick, let me see who it is."
Ah Dai laid the blanket on the ground and said with a wry smile, "Sister, this Clan member is male, and also naked, it might be better for you not to look."
Zhuo Yun’s face turned red, and she said, "Then you dress him first." After speaking, she turned her back towards Ah Dai.
Ah Dai took out a set of Yan Shi’s clothes from the Dragon’s Blood and unfolded the blanket. He was shocked to discover that the young Elf’s body had turned red, sweating profusely, appearing to be in great pain. As Ah Dai hurriedly dressed him, Yan Shi asked in surprise, "Ah Dai, what’s wrong with him?"
Ah Dai replied, "Big brother, I heard that dreadful Marchioness saying that he seems to have ingested a poison called Harmony Dew and something called Soft Muscle Powder too."
Yan Shi was taken aback; he had heard from his clan that Harmony Dew was a potent aphrodisiac that could stimulate lust. He quickly said, "Hurry, Ah Dai, try to use the Sword of Hades to help him calm down. If this continues, he’ll perish from his burning desires."
Upon hearing Yan Shi’s words, Zhuo Yun turned around. When she saw the young Elf’s face, she cried out in shock, as he was no stranger to her. He was her childhood friend and her betrothed, who she had not yet married—Rise. It had been during their secret rendezvous that the Guild’s men had seized the opportunity to capture them. She grabbed Rise’s shoulders, shaking his body, "Rise, what’s happened to you, Rise."
Ah Dai rested his hand on the hilt of the Sword of Hades, wrapping a strand of its cold dark energy with his True Qi and channeled it into Rise’s body. Rise’s body trembled and gradually calmed down.
Ah Dai grabbed his wrist, urging his own True Qi into Rise’s body, helping to drive out the two types of toxins. Under the neutral and harmonious energy of the True Qi, the not overly severe toxins in Rise’s body were slowly expelled, and at the same time, Ah Dai also removed the restriction that had been controlling his voice.
Rise let out a long sigh and slowly opened his eyes. Zhuo Yun saw that his previously clear eyes had lost much of their luster, turning dull and listless. "Rise, it’s me, you’re safe. Ah Dai and the others, they were sent by Her Majesty to save us. You’re safe," she comforted.
Rise looked at Zhuo Yun, a faint light flickering in his gaze, tremblingly he said, "Yun, is that you? Yun, I, I can’t believe I am seeing you again. I never thought I’d see you again."
Zhuo Yun embraced Rise’s upper body, comforting him, "It’s okay now, Rise, you’re safe. Once we rescue the other Clan members, we can go home." Observing their affectionate manner, Yan Shi’s eyes betrayed a trace of sadness as he stepped back and silently lowered his head.
Rise seemed to have regained some strength as he struggled out of Zhuo Yun’s arms, "Yun, I’m sorry." Tears glistened and streamed down his cheeks as he shook uncontrollably, murmuring, "Yun, my body has been defiled, I no longer deserve you, I can’t return to the Elf Clan, I can’t let my filth tarnish our Elf City. I’m so sorry, Yun." With a sudden move, his right hand thrust with the newly regained strength into his own chest.
