Chapter 52: Xiao Fei’s Awakening
Tang Yin stood beside a large tree, in his hand was the Demonic Beast Core of a Mid-tier Rank 2 Demonic Beast. He had just finished devouring a Mid-tier Rank 2 Earth Bear.
A month and a half had passed by since he killed the Stone Ape. Tang Yin had spent most of the time battling against Mid-tier Rank 2 Demonic Beasts. He was injured in almost every battle but devouring the Demonic Beast after killing it allowed him to recover instantly.
He killed all the Low-tier and Mid-tier Rank 2 Demonic Beasts he encountered and mercilessly devoured them. Tang Yin had even run into a few High-tier Rank 2 Demonic Beasts but he escaped before they could discover him, or he used the Heaven Deceiving Art to transform into a stone or bush to avoid the High-tier Demonic Beast.
After a month and a half of trial and error, Tang Yin had finally reached the peak of the 3rd stage of the Physique Transformation Realm. As long as he went through the reconstruction process, he would be able to advance into the 4th stage.
If any other cultivator saw the speed at which Tang Yin’s cultivation rose, they would be endlessly shocked. Normally it would take a cultivator a year or even a few years to advance even a single stage within the Physique Transformation Realm. Yet Tang Yin had only spent a few months reaching the peak of the 3rd stage and could advance into the 4th stage at any second.
Besides reaching the peak of the 3rd stage, Tang Yin had also accumulated a large amount of Abyss Qi within his Martial Spirit. After he advanced to the 4th stage, he would have enough Abyss Qi to advance even further into the 5th stage. But Tang Yin did not consider this, all would happen in due time.
The amount of Demonic Beast Cores he had collected over the past month and a half was innumerable. He could easily make a large fortune by selling them all, this was the reason why he did not Devour them.
Tang Yin left the Inner Ring; he headed back to the cave he was in the last time. This was so he would face the least amount of risk while he was going through the reconstruction process.
In 15 minutes, he had already arrived back at the familiar cave. Nothing had changed, Tang Yin went to the centre of the cave and sat down cross-legged. Just as he was about to start the reconstruction process, he felt a little tug from inside his large black robes.
Tang Yin was stunned before joy appeared on his face, he quickly took out a ball of black fur and feathers from his pocket. It was Xiao Fei! She trembled lightly before bursting into a ball of black flames.
Tang Yin had already moved away, he had predicted this would happen as it always did whenever something happened to Xiao Fei. Xiao Fei’s eyelids trembled before flying open, she let out a sharp screech from her beak.
Her body instantly started swelling before she rapidly grew bigger and bigger. Tang Yin witnessed Xiao Fei growing as large as 30 feet, she had shrouded the cave with her black and red feathers.
Xiao Fei let out another shrill screech, the black flames surrounding her body surged towards her rapidly. Within an instant, the black flames had been absorbed back into Xiao Fei’s body.
Xiao Fei looked towards Tang Yin from the air, and she suddenly charged towards him. Her body size then shrunk until she returned to that little chick from before and landed in Tang Yin’s hands.
"Xiao Fei, have you completed your evolution?" Tang Yin asked while gently staring at Xiao Fei. "Master, I feel like I’ve become much stronger than before." Xiao Fei replied.
Tang Yin felt as if a thousand thunderclaps had just rung out within his head, "Y-You can talk?" Tang Yin looked at the cute little black chick before him with a dumbfounded expression.
When he was reading about Demonic Beasts, it was specifically stated that most Demonic Beasts did not have high intelligence. Only Rank 5 Demonic Beasts equivalent to Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators had intelligence similar to humans and could therefore communicate with cultivators.
The aura Xiao Fei exuded told him that she was only a Rank 2 Demonic Beast, she should not even have such high intelligence let alone be able to speak.
"Master, you don’t look good, are you alright?" Xiao Fei saw the dumbfounded look on Tang Yin’s face and asked in concern. Tang Yin snapped out of his shock which he still couldn’t force down.
"Xiao Fei, how can you talk?" Tang Yin did not give up but persistently questioned Xiao Fei once again. "I don’t know, I just woke up and could speak." Xiao Fei replied with an incredibly vague answer.
Tang Yin did not press Xiao Fei any further, "Xiao Fei, I’m about to undergo reconstruction, guard the cave." He gave out a simple order to her before sitting cross-legged once again.
"Master, rest assured, with me around no one will dare to disturb you." Xiao Fei had a prideful expression as she assured Tang Yin, she seemed to be really confident in her newfound strength after her awakening.
