Chapter 47: Abyss Qi
Tang Yin had made it to the Physique Transformation Realm! Once a cultivator formed their Qi Sea and reached the Physique Transformation Realm, they would be able to absorb Qi from the world with their Training Manual and store it in their Qi Sea once it was converted into their own Qi.
The Physique Transformation Realm cultivator could then consume the Qi stored within their Qi Sea to cast Martial Skills or to use their Qi to nourish and refine their body and advance their cultivation. The purpose of the Physique Transformation Realm was to allow cultivators to refine their bodies to be strong enough to completely fuse with their Martial Spirits, body and spirit.
Tang Yin had a few strands of Qi within his black Qi Sea, he wanted to control the Qi and see what it felt like. Tang Yin focused his attention on his Qi Sea and carefully controlled a strand of Qi, Tang Yin instantly felt endless shock and an epiphany struck him.
The strange energy that extended out from his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit into his right arm to form the Abyssal Sword and into his eyes to activate the Heaven Piercing Gaze was... Qi!!
Tang Yin controlled the strand of Qi within his Qi Sea to make sure he was not hallucinating, it was real, and many speculations had surged into his brain like a storm.
After a while, he had arrived at the most logical explanation. He believed that whenever he devoured a cultivator or Demonic Beast, the Qi within their body did not scatter away. Instead, his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit had acted as a storage place for this devoured and converted Qi.
Tang Yin also had a crazy idea which could confirm his theory. He controlled his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit and had it extend out the strange energy from within itself, he did not form the Abyssal Sword or activate the Heaven Piercing Gaze. Instead, he controlled it to surge into his Qi Sea.
If the energy from his Martial Spirit surged into the Qi Sea without any problems or interferences, he could confirm that the strange energy he had been controlling since the 3rd stage of the Spirit Channelling Realm was Qi.
The black Qi surged out of Tang Yin’s Martial Spirit like a tidal wave, it instantly arrived at his lower abdomen. Without any obstructions, the Qi rapidly entered his Qi Sea at a fast pace, before long, his Qi Sea reached full capacity. Tang Yin immediately controlled the Qi to stop surging out of his Martial Spirit.
Tang Yin could hardly control his second bout of excitement. The first bout was from the formation of his Qi Sea and breakthrough, the second bout of excitement was from validating his theory.
He had confirmed that the energy within his Martial Spirit was indeed Qi. This meant that all the Qi of the cultivators and beasts he had devoured did not dissipate but was absorbed and stored into his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit. His Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit could be considered as a second Qi Sea, except this ’second Qi Sea’ seemed to have an infinite capacity.
All the Qi he had unknowingly absorbed from all the cultivators and beasts he had killed was stored within his Martial Spirit. Tang Yin suddenly felt bitter, if he had known this before, he would have used all the Qi stored within his Martial Spirit to form a Qi Sea and jump straight into the Physique Transformation Realm bypassing the Spirit Channelling Realm.
An idea suddenly struck him as that thought appeared. Since he had killed so many cultivators and beasts in the past, didn’t that mean he had an almost infinite supply of Qi at his behest? ’Since the Qi within my Qi Sea and Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit are the same energy, I’ll name it Abyss Qi.’ Tang Yin thought to himself.
Cultivators in the Physique Transformation Realm mainly used the Qi they absorbed from the world or Spirit Stones to nourish their bodies. They would rarely get into fights as Martial Skills would consume a large amount of Qi from the cultivator’s Qi Sea. If the cultivator wanted to restore this consumed Qi, they would have to absorb more Qi from the world.
This was a cycle of being consumed and replenished. The only downfall was that most cultivators did not have high-tier Training Manuals, therefore, the Qi from the world would be absorbed at a very slow pace.
This was why most Physique Transformation Realm cultivators would not easily get into battles, they would rather consume the Qi within their Qi Sea towards refining their body and advancing their cultivation than on Martial Skills.
Of course, this did not apply to Tang Yin, his Heaven Devouring Abyss Martial Spirit could absorb the Qi from the world or Spirit Stones within a few breaths. He could be considered to have an endless supply of Qi.
Tang Yin knew all of this, he had read about it in the Maple Leaf library. Tang Yin had another theory he wanted to test out. Since the Qi from his Qi Sea and Martial Spirit were the same, would that not mean he could use the colossal amount of Abyss Qi within his Martial Spirit to refine his body and advance his cultivation by leaps and bounds within a few days?
Tang Yin did not hesitate, he controlled the Abyss Qi from his Qi Sea and made it circulate throughout his whole body. A Physique Transformation Realm cultivator only needed to circulate the Qi within their Qi Sea around their whole body, and slowly the Qi would be absorbed by the flesh and bones of the body and swiftly be reinforced and refined.
