Chapter 320: Proposal and Delivery
After bidding his farewells to Liu Hao, Tang Yin left the Neutral Cultivation Alliance Branch. Now he had completed everything. Even if he hadn’t, he didn’t have any time left. He had 2 weeks remaining which would be spent during his journey back to the Moonlit River Sect.
Without wasting any more time, Tang Yin departed. He was heading to the Moonlit River Sect.
Since he already knew the route due to his last voyage to the Moonlit River Sect, Tang Yin was able to avoid most of the areas brimming with life and danger.
He also utilized the full speed of his Mid-stage Principle Manipulation Realm body.
After crossing 14 Regions, he finally arrived at the Moonlit River Sect.
The journey was not as dangerous as the last time. The strongest being he encountered was a High-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast. He managed to detour around any cultivators he encountered due to the power of his divine sense.
Naturally, he silently killed all of the Rank 7 Demonic Beasts he ran into. In total, he collected 5 Low-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast corpses, 2 Mid-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast corpses and a single High-tier Rank 7 Demonic Beast corpse. As for the weaker beasts, they didn’t even realise that a human had passed by them.
There also wasn’t any trace of the Frost Wyrm. It seemed that it had already left the surrounding Regions and returned to its lair.
Other than this, nobody had tried to perform any type of divination on him. This was shown by the fact that Tang Yin’s Soul Sanctuary remained calm and unfettered.
Upon returning to the Moonlit River Sect, Tang Yin was greeted by the numerous Elders and important personnel of the sect. After some brief greetings, he returned to his mansion.
As he had expected, it was empty. Xu Yun and Qiu Yinzi had no reason to stay in an empty mansion. Therefore, they returned to their original residences.
There were around 3 days left till he would meet Qian Zhong who would then take him to the Hectic Chasm Holy Land. In that time, he would need to make some small preparations.
Around half an hour after he returned to the Moonlit River Sect, he was visited by 3 guests. Namely Xu Yun, Qiu Yinzi, Xu Cheng and the Orchid Blossom Saintess, Wan Mei.
Tang Yin felt a headache incoming, but he still chose to meet them. Although he didn’t care about them, they were still very close to Qian Zhong. Refusing them flatly would make him look arrogant and conceited.
Although Tang Yin did not care about what they thought of him, he cared about Qian Zhong’s impression of him. After all, Qian Zhong was his Senior Brother and also the person who would grant him access to the Hectic Chasm Holy Land.
Upon entering the main hall of the mansion, the group of visitors saw Tang Yin seated on the main seat.
"Please take a seat." Tang Yin offered amicably.
The group nodded and sat down around the large table. Xu Yun and Qiu Yinzi sat on one side whilst Xu Cheng and Wan Mai sat on the other.
"It’s good to see Brother Tang again." Xu Cheng said with a smile.
Tang Yin could only laugh wryly in his mind. Qian Zhong was his Senior Brother, wouldn’t that make Xu Cheng his nephew? Since Xu Cheng had called him ’Brother Tang’, wouldn’t that make Xu Yun his niece? But wasn’t Wan Mei trying to marry off Xu Yun to him? Everything was too complicated.
"Likewise." Tang Yin nodded. He didn’t think much of this though. Only Qian Zhong was relevant, everything else did not matter to him.
The group made small talk and chattered in an idle manner. They talked about the numerous things that had happened recently in the Bright Yang Continent, some rumours and other miscellaneous things.
After 10 minutes, Xu Cheng and Wan Mei revealed their true intentions of visiting Tang Yin.
"Brother Tang, I and my wife have come to offer a proposal. We want to marry Xu Yun to you." Xu Cheng said whilst pointing at Xu Yun.
’Finally, couldn’t you have started with this instead?’ Tang Yin thought. "This... I’ve already got a partner." Is what he actually said.
"We know. We want to give Xu Yun to you as a concubine. She has also agreed to this, we aren’t forcing her." Wan Mei chimed in.
’Again. Qian Zhong also offered me the same thing. This is annoying.’ Tang Yin rolled his eyes internally. "I’ve already talked about this matter with Senior Brother Qian before. I absolutely do not plan to take in any more partners." He finally revealed some of his earlier conversations with Qian Zhong.
It was time for the group to be surprised. Senior Qian had already talked about this? Why didn’t he tell them?
"Won’t you reconsider? We aren’t asking you to abandon your partner. We are only asking you to open your heart for another one." Xu Cheng was the first to snap out of his shock.
"I’ve already made my decision. If I change my mind in the future, I will inform you and Senior Brother Qian." Tang Yin shook his head helplessly.
After a few moments of silence, Wan Mei spoke, "What if Qiu Yinzi also becomes your concubine alongside Xu Yun?"
Xu Yun lifted her head, her expression changed from sorrow to hope. Qiu Yinzi was also shocked. She hadn’t agreed to this, neither had her father! But she chose to remain quiet, maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea...
Her father probably also wouldn’t mind and might actually agree, after all, Tang Yin was the most important person to Qian Zhong, maybe even more important than his own son, Xu Cheng!
Tang Yin was surprised. This was a first. Not even Qian Zhong had offered this to him in the past. It seemed that Wan Mei and her husband put extreme importance on him. Otherwise, they wouldn’t resort to such drastic measures to obtain his support.
What was the sacrifice of 2 women for the complete support and backing of Qian Zhong? Besides, the 2 of them had already agreed. Qiu Yinzi’s silence was akin to agreeing to this matter.
"Once again, I will remain faithful to my partner. Please don’t bring up this matter in the future. If I change my mind, I will inform all of you." Tang Yin tried to remain as polite as possible, but his words were spoken with a cold tone.
Xu Cheng and Wan Mei could only sigh. They had tried their best. Trying to convince Tang Yin any further would most likely create enmity between them which was the complete opposite of their goal.
After a few more minutes of idle chatter, the group left.
Xu Cheng and Wan Mei left disappointed. Xu Yun left full of sorrow and despair while Qiu Yinzi felt conflicted. Was she not good enough?
Tang Yin did not particularly care about their feelings. They could not bring him any benefits. Even Qian Zhong would lose most of his value after his trip to the Hectic Chasm Holy Land. Of course, he wouldn’t be so cold-hearted. He would repay Qian Zhong somewhat for his help, as long as it did not impact his interests or benefits.
For the rest of the day, Tang Yin completely disregarded this matter and continued to think about the things he would need to prepare for his trip to the Hectic Chasm Holy Land.
The next day, the delivery of the Space Principle Attraction Flag Set arrived.
The Moonlit River Sect was quite cautious against the delivery person as he was a Late-stage Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator. Elder Liang accompanied him into the sect and kept tabs on him at all times.
Before long, Tang Yin arrived to collect his item.
"Greetings, Demonic Asura. I’m here to deliver your item from the Neutral Cultivation Alliance." The delivery man said as soon as he sensed Tang Yin and saw his black robe-covered figure.
"Thank you for your effort." Tang Yin responded. He instantly recognized the delivery person. He was the same person that was recorded inside the jade token Liu Hao had given him.
The delivery person smiled and took a palm-sized golden box out of his storage ring. He then handed it to Tang Yin alongside a small book.
"The golden box contains the item whilst the book is a manual of how to control the item." The delivery person only called the Flag Set an item. Clearly, he didn’t want to reveal the golden box’s content as Elder Liang was still present.
Tang Yin accepted the golden box and the small book. "Thank you." He thanked once again.
"No problem. It’s my job." The delivery person bade farewell before leaving.
Tang Yin smiled wryly. Why did the cultivators of the Neutral Cultivation Alliance always say, ’It’s my job’? Couldn’t they loosen up a bit?
Disregarding this matter and Elder Liang, he returned to his mansion to check out the Space Principle Attraction Flag Set.
Elder Liang didn’t mind Tang Yin’s ignorance. He knew that Tang Yin was acting this way due to his behaviour towards him in the mission. With a shake of his head, he returned to his duties.
