Chapter 316: Divine Retribution Lightning
Right before leaving the Abyss Firmament, Tang Yin used the Sun-Moon Great Illusion Art on the regressed Early-stage Principle Comprehension Realm Rou Ling. She was immediately knocked unconscious.
Tang Yin then changed his appearance back to ’Feng Tian’ before leaving the Abyss Firmament with Rou Ling in his grip.
He appeared near the spot where he had originally entered the Abyss Firmament from. Tang Yin immediately felt a divine sense lock onto his body.
’Rou Wei... Hopefully, you don’t disappoint me.’ The wind in the atmosphere condensed to form a male figure, it was Rou Wei.
He immediately scanned Rou Ling. However, Tang Yin’s divine sense blocked his inspection.
Just as Rou Wei was about to demand an explanation, he remembered the Divine Oath. If Tang Yin had done something to Rou Ling, he would have already died from Divine Retribution. Since Tang Yin was right before him, it meant that Rou Ling was unharmed.
Tang Yin suddenly felt a sense of imminent danger. ’I need to be quick. The heavens and the world have sensed that I’ve broken the Divine Oath. They should be sending down Divine Retribution at any moment.’
"Where’s the Demonic Lightning’s, Lightning Essence?" Tang Yin asked coldly.
"Here." Rou Wei flipped his palm and a black vial appeared in his hand. He opened the vial’s cork and displayed its contents to Tang Yin.
Tang Yin inspected the blackish-red particles inside the black vial. After confirming the Demonic Lightning’s Lightning Essence’s authenticity, Tang Yin nodded.
"Alright. Let’s do the exchange." Tang Yin tossed Rou Ling towards Rou Wei whilst the latter did the same with the black vial.
During the intense exchange, nothing happened. As soon as Tang Yin caught the black vial of Demonic Lightning’s Lightning Essence, he stowed it away inside the Abyss Firmament.
He then disappeared. He did not have any time left. He needed to travel as far as he could from Rou Wei to withstand the Divine Retribution. He did not want any interference from the latter.
Although he was confident in his ability to destroy the Divine Retribution within a few seconds. Tang Yin still wanted to be careful.
Rou Wei caught Rou Ling at the same moment as when Tang Yin disappeared. Rou Wei did not pay any attention to Tang Yin’s disappearance, he fully focused on his daughter.
Just as he was about to inspect his daughter’s body for any abnormalities...

Rou Ling’s body swiftly exploded. A radius of a kilometre was involved in the explosion. Black flames swept through the Rou Sect’s mountain and the surrounding kilometre.
"BASTARD!!!" An earth-shattering roar reverberated from the centre of the explosion. The surrounding black flames warped, they were unable to handle the pressure and dissipated.
A large clearing around the Rou Sect appeared. A lone figure stood in the air, it was Rou Wei.
His eyes shone with rage, grief, sorrow, bloodlust and various other emotions. "FENG TIAN!!" He shouted with all his might. A thick amount of killing intent was contained inside his words.
A huge gust of wind tore open space before Rou Wei, he stepped into the void and vanished.
The Rou Sect’s mountain was unharmed. They had multiple Tier 3 Array Formations. The black flames were of the Early-stage Principle Manipulation Realm strength, they could not possibly harm the Array Formations.

Tang Yin had already fled to 2 Regions away from the Rou Sect. He had utilized the Abyss Emperor Transformation and the Phantom Steps. He absolutely did not want to take any chances.
’It’s here.’ Tang Yin suddenly stopped. He looked up into the sky and saw a majestic, crimson bolt of lightning. There were no dark clouds or any celestial phenomena. A simple crimson bolt of lightning crashed down from the sky towards Tang Yin.
Tang Yin felt peak Late-stage Principle Manipulation Realm strength coming from the crimson bolt of lightning, or rather the Divine Retribution Lightning.
A black aura of death permeated his right hand and the tattoo of a skull manifested on the back of his right hand. Life and Death Seal! Tang Yin had already devoured a Peak-tier Rank 6 Demonic Beast corpse beforehand.
But he was not done yet. Refined Killing Intent seeped out of his skin and coated his right hand, adding an extra layer of power to his fist. Ethereal Slaughter Art!
Tang Yin did not even need to move. The Divine Retribution Lightning had already arrived before him. He sent out the most powerful punch he could muster.
This punch contained the Life and Death Seal, Ethereal Slaughter Art, the full power of Tang Yin’s body and the Abyss Emperor Transformation. This punch could rival the full-powered attack of Rou Wei, an absolute peak Principle Manipulation Realm cultivator. With a resounding cry, the punch and Divine Retribution Lightning clashed.

The collision with the Divine Retribution Lightning sent shockwaves rippling through the sky. The impact unleashed a cataclysmic explosion of unimaginable magnitude.
A blinding surge of crimson and black light erupted, engulfing the entire Region Tang Yin was currently within and blinding every living being in it. Only Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators could remain unaffected. However, there were none in the Region.
The clash between Tang Yin and the Divine Retribution Lightning shattered space itself. Shards of reality cascaded down like radiant rain. The clash of titanic forces continued to echo, with thunderclaps and loud rumbles reverberating for hundreds of kilometres.
All of the beings within a hundred-kilometre radius of the impact were reduced to dust. None even a Principle Comprehension Realm cultivator could survive if they were within a 100-kilometre radius of the impact.
However, due to the loud rumbles and thunderclaps created by the collision, their wails and cries of despair were unheard.
At the centre of the impact, Tang Yin stood firm. His right hand had disappeared. Only mangled pieces of flesh were still hanging onto his arm. Sweat dripped down his brows, a testament to the immense strain he had to endure. Every muscle in his body cried out in agony and strain, they were about to be torn apart.
Luckily, Passive Regeneration rushed to his aid. Although the amount of Abyss Qi consumed by Passive Regeneration was beyond colossal, it still did its work.
Tang Yin felt his strain slowly disappearing, and his hand was rapidly being regenerated. Any other injuries that he received were also healed in the blink of an eye.
Tang Yin did not remain idle. He quickly took out a white vial and rushed to collect the huge amounts of red particles in the atmosphere. They were not blackish-red like the Demonic Lightning’s Lightning Essence. Instead, the particles were crimson, a shade of blood. The crimson particles were Divine Retribution Lightning’s, Lightning Essence!
Tang Yin collected every last drop of Divine Retribution Lightning’s Lightning Essence with the white vial in a few seconds. However, before he could do anything else, a grim expression surfaced on his face. Without hesitation, he entered the Abyss Firmament.

"Feng Tian!" A rage-filled voice echoed in the spot Tang Yin had just entered the Abyss Firmament from. A male figure walked out from space, he was Rou Wei.
Rou Wei had felt the intense impact of the collision between Tang Yin and the Divine Retribution Lightning. Even he felt some lingering fear towards the resulting output of power!
He had already somewhat guessed what had happened. He knew that Feng Tian had broken his Divine Oath, causing Divine Retribution to descend.
However, he wanted to personally slaughter Feng Tian for killing his daughter. Unfortunately, Divine Retribution had beaten him to it. He was a step too late. Now, Fen Tian was already dead.
But Rou Wei still held a doubt.
If Feng Tian knew that he would die from Divine Retribution, why would he willingly kill his daughter and break the Divine Oath? After all, the exchange could have been done with both parties obtaining what they wanted and neither of them needed to break their Divine Oaths.
Was death really worth it for Demonic Lightning’s Lightning Essence?
But this just didn’t make sense!
Some part of Rou Wei’s mind even speculated that Feng Tian was not dead. However, he had seen the power of the Divine Retribution from afar, it was terrifying!
With some doubt, Rou Wei continued to search the surroundings and even a few more Regions for Feng Tian. However, he found no traces of him. It seemed that he had truly died to Divine Retribution.
Rou Wei then looked into his soul. The piece of crimson string had disappeared. This meant that the Divine Oath had already stopped existing. It had either been completed or transgressed.
From what he had seen, Feng Tian had transgressed the Divine Oath and was killed by Divine Retribution. So, Feng Tian was dead, right?
All of this was just way too confusing. With a shake of his dead, Rou Wei returned to the Rou Sect with deep sorrow in his heart. Why did this calamity have to fall on his head? He didn’t even know this Feng Tian!
