Chapter 287: Holy Lands and Neutral Cultivation Alliance
The Abyss Firmament held many aspects, elements and other things to completely comprehend. Tang Yin would also need to alter and use the abilities of the Abyss Firmament to his advantage. All of this would be left for the future, once he had enough time to do things to his heart’s content.
For now, Tang Yin stored everything within his storage ring inside the Abyss Firmament. Nobody could enter the Abyss Firmament without his approval or permission, not even a Law Creation Realm cultivator. Therefore, Tang Yin was not at all worried about leaving his valuables in the Abyss Firmament.
Then he left the Abyss Firmament. He would return later.
Tang Yin instantly appeared above the south zone’s sea. It was as if reality had decided to reinsert Tang Yin back into its record, bringing him back into existence.
Tang Yin had only spent around 2 minutes inside the Abyss Firmament, the same amount of time had passed in the outside world.
He continued to view the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit. He had not completely read everything yet. However, there was only a single sentence left. This sentence directly told Tang Yin how to advance his cultivation base.
’Devour any and all Principles to advance.’
The Heaven Devouring Abyss grew alongside Tang Yin. This was most evident in the Spirit Vein Condensation Realm when the Heaven Devouring Abyss’s size grew with each spirit vein he condensed.
Now, the Heaven Devouring Abyss had the ability to Devour any and all Principles. This was the exact requirement for him to advance in the Principle Step.
As Tang Yin thought about this, he found it quite similar to when he was in the Mortal Step.
In the Mortal Step, he devoured Qi and Spirit Qi to advance his cultivation. Now he was essentially doing the same thing in the Principle Step but with Principles instead.
Cultivators would usually have to spend decades if not centuries to communicate and sense their attributed Principle. They would then need to deepen their relationship with the Principle whilst also comprehending it until they could manipulate it at will. This was fundamentally the entire Principle Comprehension Realm.
But all Tang Yin would have to do was Devour enough Principles to advance in each stage of the Principle Comprehension Realm, and probably even the Principle Manipulation Realm.
He had initially thought that he would need to comprehend the Principle of Devouring. However, this was not necessary according to the Heaven Devouring Abyssal Sanskrit.
Most cultivators would go mad with envy and greed if they learnt of this.
However, this also put Tang Yin in a dilemma.
Tang Yin wanted to Devour Principles with the Heaven Devouring Abyss and redirect them into the Abyss Firmament. This was the only way to incorporate Principles into his world to develop it.
But now, he would need to advance his cultivation by devouring Principles which would transform them into his cultivation base.
He would already require quite a hefty amount of Principles for the Abyss Firmament. Now, this requirement would skyrocket by 3x, maybe even 4x.
The most efficient way to obtain a large number of Principles would be to visit numerous Holy Lands and Devour those Principles to either increase his cultivation or insert them into the Abyss Firmament.
In some places on the Bright Yang Continent were certain locations where the concentration of a Principle or multiple Principles was high. These locations were imbued with a special power that allowed cultivators who trained in these locations to rapidly comprehend and increase their control over their specific Principle.
For example, a cultivator who specialised in the Principle of Fire and trained in a location with a high concentration of Fire Principles might gain greater control over their fire elemental Martial Skills and techniques. They would also be able to cultivate more efficiently with the high density of Fire Principles constantly around them.
These locations were known as ’Holy Lands’.
Starfall Peak was a prime example of this. They possessed a special Holy Land known as the Star Crater. The Star Crater Holy Land was filled to the brim with Star Principles. Any cultivator training in the Principle of the Star would cultivate much faster inside the Star Crater Holy Land.
However, Tang Yin could not casually wander into Holy Lands.
Holy Lands were one of the very few elements that determined a Rank 8 Organization’s power.
Holy Lands represented the mass birth of Principle Step cultivators. Due to this, the Rank 8 Organizations with more Holy Lands would be able to produce more Principle Step cultivators than the other Rank 8 Organizations which would, in turn, make their strength superior to the others.
The importance of the Holy Lands was clear.
Every Holy Land would be tightly guarded with multiple Principle Manipulation Realm cultivators as the bare minimum. Some of the more important Holy Lands would even have Law Domain Realm cultivators acting as guards.
Rank 8 Organizations couldn’t be located everywhere all at once. As a result, most of their Rank 7 and Rank 6 subsidiaries would be located around a Holy Land.
Every single discovered Holy Land in the Bright Yang Continent had already been occupied by one of the 9 Rank 8 Organizations which had then further been handed to their affiliates to guard and manage.
It was quite clear that simply waltzing into a Holy Land would be seeking one’s own demise.
’The best way to access Holy Lands would be to join a Rank 8 Organization and accumulate enough merits and contributions to trade for temporary entry to a Holy Land.’
’However, this isn’t the only option. From the various memories I’ve Soul Plundered, the Neutral Cultivation Alliance would be my most appropriate option.’ Tang Yin thought long and hard about how he would obtain a large number of Principles.
The Neutral Cultivation Alliance was a Rank 8 Organization. The Alliance Master of the organization was the Impartial Ghost Sovereign, one of the 10 Sovereigns of the True Martial World.
The Neutral Cultivation Alliance was an organization that catered to cultivators who prefer to operate outside the traditional power structures of the Bright Yang Continent, Rogue Cultivators.
The Neutral Cultivation Alliance was known for hosting missions, assignments and tasks of all types. Whether it required one to kill a Demonic Beast, assassinate someone, gather intelligence, or search for a rare Medicinal Herb or Spiritual Herb, the Alliance issued them all.
Complementary to the name, the Neutral Cultivation Alliance was not a traditional organization in the sense that it does not require cultivators to become members in order to take missions.
Instead, the Neutral Cultivation Alliance operated purely on a contract-based system, with cultivators free to take on missions as they please and receive the listed reward upon completion.
This allowed Rogue Cultivators to maintain their freedom, whilst benefiting from the Neutral Cultivation Alliance. Both parties obtained benefits.
The Neutral Cultivation Alliance commissioned the mission investor for all the missions they wanted to be completed. The organization then rewarded cultivators for completing the mission.
Both parties obtained benefits with simple cooperation without the need for any trust. It was a win-win situation for both sides.
Of course, the Neutral Cultivation Alliance wasn’t without a force of its own. They had many internal divisions and factions within the Alliance who worked directly for the Alliance.
They did not carry out missions. Instead, they managed and reinforced the rules of the Neutral Cultivation Alliance.
An example of this would be the Sweepers.
The Sweepers were a small faction of powerful cultivators inside the Neutral Cultivation Alliance.
Their job was to execute all cultivators who chose a mission out of their league and were unable to complete it.
A cultivator who decided to choose a mission above their standard and failed to complete it would face execution. This applied to Law Domain Realm cultivators as well.
After all, being unable to complete a mission would make the Neutral Cultivation Alliance lose its credibility, influence and profit.
Unless a cultivator was at least 80% sure that they could complete a mission, they would never choose a mission which had a high risk of failure.
Although it may seem cruel, it could be likened to an agreement.
The Neutral Cultivation Alliance’s side of the deal was to provide Rogue Cultivators with a method to make money and obtain resources. Whilst the Rogue Cultivator’s job was to complete the mission, obtain their reward and make the Neutral Cultivation Alliance a profit.
By being unable to handle a mission of their OWN choice, the Rogue Cultivators were essentially violating the agreement, something the Neutral Cultivation Alliance deemed worthy of execution.
To obtain temporary access to a Holy Land belonging to the Neutral Cultivation Alliance, one needed a certain amount of contribution points.
Contribution points could be obtained through 2 methods.
The first was to complete missions. By completing a mission, not only could one obtain the listed rewards for the mission, but they could also obtain a certain amount of contribution points.
The second way was much easier but way too expensive. One could trade in their resources for contribution points. It was a trade. Resources for contribution points.
