Chapter 236: Demonic Ghost Serpent

Although the act of lifting his arms up to protect his head and chest seemed useless, it was actually quite clever.

Chi Hu had directed the Spirit Qi inside his body to coat his arms. This gave him an extra layer of defence even though it was not much.

The thin black line had clearly reduced in size and power after obliterating the Infernal Giant. Its momentum had also slowed down, but this did not matter as it was already before Chi Hu. It slashed into him.

There was no sound of impact, only Chi Hu being pushed back 100 feet. His right arm was bleeding profusely, there was a large gash there. Once Chi Hu lowered his arms, his face was revealed.

It was full of terror and there was blood trickling down his lips.

Tang Yin knew that the energy gained from the Dark Terror Strike was not enough for the Void Splitting Slash to reach Chi Hu. Therefore, he injected more of his Abyss Qi into the strike.

He had also made sure not to inject too much, otherwise, Chi Hu would truly die. He did not want to kill him. He made sure the Void Splitting Slash was strong enough to break through Chi Hu’s defence and injure him lightly.

"I forfeit!" Chi Hu immediately gave up. He was already injured after 2 attacks. He realised that he was not Tang Yin’s opponent, and decisively gave up before receiving even more injuries.

Tang Yin deactivated the Abyssal Sword and flew down with Chi Hu.

Upon arriving, everyone’s gaze instantly stuck to Tang Yin like glue. They had observed the whole fight and witnessed how Tang Yin defeated Chi Hu with only 2 sword strikes.

Lin Wu was also extremely shocked. He was quite thankful that Tang Yin had not chosen him but Chi Hu instead.

Elder Sun and Elder Yu stared intently at Tang Yin, trying to discern this mysterious dark horse.

Xiao Li, Hu Yan and Xia Lu also started to pay more attention to Tang Yin. Before they had dismissed him as someone who would most likely perish in the Exotic Enclosure Region. However, after witnessing his battle with Chi Hu, they acknowledged that he had a slight chance of returning alive.

Tang Yin remained calm and indifferent as if all of this had nothing to do with him.

Chi Hu broke the silence, "Thank you for the lesson."

"No problem." Tang Yin politely responded.

Although Chi Hu was sullen. He did not hold any hostility towards Tang Yin. Tang Yin was much stronger than him, not to mention all of the skills and techniques he had yet to utilize.

He also realised that Tang Yin had controlled his attack to only lightly injure him, which he was quite grateful for. It was with this realisation that he decisively gave up.

After bidding farewell to all of the cultivators, Chi Hu left.

"The Exotic Distribution Tournament has been concluded. Now we will go straight to the Exotic Enclosure Region" Elder Sun spoke after Chi Hu left. The 5 quotas for outsiders to enter the Exotic Enclosure Region had all been filled up.

"Elder Sun, what about the other 15 cultivators of the Celestial Demon Sect and their subsidiaries?" Lin Wu asked politely with doubt. All of the other cultivators also had this question in mind.

"They have most likely already departed, we will meet up with them at the entrance of the Exotic Enclosure Region." Elder Sun responded to Lin Wu, but also to the other cultivators to erase their doubt.

Elder Sun tapped a small black pouch hanging off his waist.

A loud roar came from the black pouch followed by a black figure.

The black figure revealed itself to be a large serpent. It was 400 meters long with a 40-meter large width. It had crimson eyes and 2 large fangs. Its scales also glistened with a ghostly light.

"Demonic Ghost Serpent!" Lin Wu shouted in astonishment and shock. Even Tang Yin’s eyes narrowed.

The thick aura of a Mid-tier Rank 5 Demonic Beast came from the Demonic Ghost Serpent.

The Demonic Ghost Serpent was a uniquely bred Spirit Beast of the Celestial Demon Sect. Only cultivators with an important position in the sect were allowed to possess a Demonic Ghost Serpent as a Spirit Beast.

The Demonic Ghost Serpent had the potential to reach Rank 6. It was rumoured that the Sect Leader of the Celestial Demon Sect possessed a Rank 6 Demonic Ghost Serpent as a pet, but nobody knew if it was true.

Elder Sun stood on the Demonic Ghost Serpent’s head. He looked at the other cultivators and gestured for them to get on.

Elder Yu was the first to stand behind Elder Sun, this was followed by Xiao Li, Xia Lu, Hu Yan, Lin Wu and finally Tang Yin.

With a deadly hiss, the Demonic Ghost Serpent whipped its body up and flew into the clouds.

The Demonic Ghost Serpent was extremely quick. It was a Demonic Beast that specialised in speed specifically, not to mention it had Mid-tier Rank 5 power.

During the journey there, they had to travel across half of the Demon Accretion Region and a small neighbouring Region named, Mystic Tree Region.

Anyone who saw the Demonic Ghost Serpent would move out of the way in fear and respect. There were almost no cultivators in the Demon Accretion Region and the neighbouring Regions who did not know of the infamous Demonic Ghost Serpent.

Without any impediments or stops, Elder Sun and the others arrived at the entrance of the Exotic Enclosure Region within a few days.

The Exotic Enclosure Region was not too large, only around the same size as the Drifblim Region. However, it was covered with grey fog all around, the inside was not visible at all with the grey fog enclosing the entire Region.

There was one spot in particular in the grey fog that stood out, it was noticeably darker than the rest, almost a shade of black. This was the supposed entrance to the Exotic Enclosure Region.

There was a large clearing around this darkened grey shade of fog. A tremendous scene was currently occurring here.

In one part of the large clearing was a 1,000 feet large sword. On the sword stood 22 cultivators. They compromised of both males and females, they wore solemn expressions.

20 of them radiated the suffocating pressure of the Spirit Ascension Realm. The other 2 were a middle-aged woman with a beautiful appearance and an old man. They were both Peak-stage and Early-stage Principle Comprehension Realm cultivators respectively.

On another side of the large clearing, there was a 10,000 feet large eagle-like creature stationary in the air. It had crimson feathers, sharp claws and demonic eyes.

There were 21 cultivators on this crimson eagle. 20 of them were Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators, whilst the last middle-aged man was a Peak-stage Principle Comprehension Realm cultivator.

On the opposite side of the large clearing was a huge ship, around 500 feet large. On its deck were 24 people. Similarly, 20 of them were Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators whilst the other 4 were Principle Step cultivators in the various different stages of the Principle Comprehension Realm.

In a spot near the 500 feet large ship was a scroll. The scroll had paintings of mountains, seas and beasts, it was also around 100 feet large.

Inside the scroll sat 22 people. 20 of them were Spirit Ascension Realm whilst the remaining 2 were Principle Step cultivators.

Lastly, in an isolated corner of the large space was a Demonic Ghost Serpent! There stood 16 people on the back of the serpent. All 16 of them were males with 15 of them being Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators. The last person was an old man.

The old man had extremely long white hair, reaching his waist. He also had a long sage beard, which reached his chest. He had a red mark on his forehead, which seemed like a birthmark. The strange thing about him was his hands. His nails were long and sharp like a beast’s, they were also black. He was the prime definition of what a person would think of when they thought about a Demonic Cultivator.

Beside this old man was another Demonic Ghost Serpent. Elder Sun, Elder Yu, Xiao Li, Xia Lu, Hu Yan, Lin Wu and Tang Yin were standing on the serpent’s back. They all looked towards the old man with a demonic appearance with deep respect.

He was Grand Elder Shi of the Celestial Demon Sect! He possessed peak Principle Comprehension Realm cultivation, just below the Sect Leader.

During the few days-long journey to the Exotic Enclosure Region, Elder Sun had filled in the 5 outsiders on everything they should know before entering the Exotic Enclosure Region. This included things like the other 4 powerful organizations who were sending their disciples into the Exotic Enclosure Region alongside the Celestial Demon Sect, as well as people they should avoid.

Not only that, but he had also provided them with a map of all the areas that had been explored in the Exotic Enclosure Region by the Celestial Demon Sect.

As Tang Yin looked at Grand Elder Shi with reverence, he secretly utilized the Heaven Piercing Gaze.

Grand Elder Shi seemed to notice something, he slowly turned his head around to look at Elder Sun’s Demonic Ghost Serpent. Or more accurately, the 7 cultivators on the serpent’s back.

His eyes narrowed slightly as he examined them. Elder Sun and the others were perplexed at Grand Elder Shi’s sudden interest but remained silent. A moment later, Grand Elder Shi turned back around, returning to his original position.

’That was close. I shouldn’t be so reckless in the future.’ Tang Yin thought to himself. He did not think Grand Elder Shi would notice. However, Grand Elder Shi was much more powerful than he had thought, he had somehow noticed that someone was examining him with a Martial Skill.

Luckily, Grand Elder Shi did not know the specific person out of the 7 of them. In the end, he decided not to pursue the matter and turned back around. His sudden interest in Elder Sun’s Demonic Ghost Serpent was already a warning for the person trying to spy on his strength.
