Chapter 224: Entering Seclusion
Sizzling sounds came from the depths of the numerous Void Chains. Ecstasy appeared on the old man’s face, he looked towards Tang Yin with smugness.
Tang Yin’s expression was neutral. He continued to observe the Void Chains.
As the sizzling sounds became more pronounced, they slowly came to a halt. Even after a moment, everything within the Void Chains remained deathly silent.
The old man’s expression slowly changed from his previous ecstasy to disbelief.
"My Corpse Poison... Why isn’t it working?" The old man muttered to himself. The Corpse Poison within his corpse puppet was extremely potent and could seriously harm even Early-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators upon contact.
Tang Yin’s eyes narrowed. The old man did not know that the Void Chains had become reinforced and much sturdier after absorbing his 2 earlier attacks. That was why his Corpse Poison was only able to corrode a few tens of Void Chains before being completely devoured by the remaining Void Chains.
Although around half of the Void Chains had been corroded by the Corpse Poison, the other half still remained. And they had also devoured and absorbed the Corpse Poison which brought their sturdiness and power to a whole new level.
Even Early-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators would struggle to fend against these 50 or so Void Chains.
Terror appeared on the old man’s face when he finally realised what had happened.
Without a second of hesitation, he turned around and fled. The corpse puppet and Corpse Poison was his trump card. Even a peak Qi Transformation Realm cultivator would be forced to retreat when facing him.
However now, a youthful 6th stage Qi Transformation Realm cultivator had suddenly appeared and rendered all of his attacks, including his trump card, vain. And all of this was done by only utilizing 2 moves, the crimson fog and those weird black metallic chains which seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
He could not imagine what other horrifying skills and techniques the red-haired youth still had yet to use.
Tang Yin smiled coldly. He could easily tell what was going through the old man’s mind. He did not move though. Instead, he pointed in the old man’s direction of escape.
The 50 or so Void Chains lingering in the air moved like lightning to chase after the old man.
The old man felt a strong sense of life-threatening danger behind him. He whipped his head around only to discover snake-like chains hot on his trail.
He gritted his teeth and steeled his resolve. Without any delay, he bit the tip of his tongue to spit out blood essence.
The old man’s blood essence turned into a crimson halo which enveloped him and thrust him forward. His speed increased by almost one-fold.
Tang Yin madly expended his Abyss Qi to summon more Void Chains from the void. He already possessed a colossal amount of Abyss Qi in the Heaven Devouring Abyss, expending this much was nothing to him.
Hundreds and soon thousands of Void Chains appeared from all around the area. They rushed towards the old man in a frenzy.
The old man’s expression changed to one of despair. He naturally could not tell that there was a large difference between the previous 50 Void Chains and the newly summoned Void Chains.
The newly summoned Void Chains only possessed their original power to immobilize peak Qi Transformation Realm cultivators whilst the previous 50 or so Void Chains which had devoured the old man’s Corpse Poison were much stronger than the rest.
The old man knew that he could not escape from this situation. With madness, he burned his cultivation base and his remaining lifespan for a temporary increase in power.
The crimson halo around the old man became much brighter and emitted an eviler presence.
The old man let out a despair-filled roar as he charged towards the thousands of incoming Void Chains.
For the next 10 minutes, thunderous booms and deafening bangs were constantly ringing out from the encirclement of the thousands of Void Chains.
Tang Yin did not stop summoning Void Chains either, hundreds of Void Chains were destroyed every few seconds, but more were summoned to replace them.
The old man was captured and immobilized in the end by the 50 reinforced Void Chains. He did not know why these 50 or so Void Chains would not break so easily like the rest.
Tang Yin strode before the old man. He was currently bound by hundreds of Void Chains and the crimson halo around him had long disappeared.
Instead, his face was much more haggard and older compared to a few minutes ago. His body was also only skin and bones whilst his eyes were glazed over.
Tang Yin grasped the old man’s abdomen as soon as he reached him, he grabbed the old man’s Spirit Flame in his demonic claws before swiftly devouring it...
As the Spirit Flame was devoured, Tang Yin’s sixth flame easily reached completion. Tang Yin then devoured the rest of the old man’s Spirit Flame to ignite his seventh Spirit Flame.
His seventh Spirit Flame took form shortly after, it burnt with an abyssal hue as if nothing could extinguish it. It should toe to toe with the other 6 Spirit Flames despite being much smaller.
Unfortunately, the old man’s Spirit Flame was only enough to ignite Tang Yin’s seventh Spirit Flame and could not advance it any further. However, this was enough for Tang Yin.
The dignified aura of a 6th stage Qi Transformation Realm cultivator spread out from Tang Yin. He had reached the 6th stage of the Qi Transformation Realm!
Tang Yin placed his hand on the old man’s head and employed Soul Plunder, then he sent part of the Heaven Devouring Abyss inside of the old man’s body. He swiftly devoured his Martial Spirit and soul.
The old man was now only a husk.
He then stripped the old man’s storage ring from his finger and transferred all of the items to his own storage ring.
After devouring everything valuable from the old man’s body, Tang Yin stowed away his corpse into his storage ring for future use.
Tang Yin looked towards the old man’s cave abode. He planned to go into isolation, this cave abode was exactly what he needed right now.
He plummeted from the sky and swooped into the cave abode, it now belonged to him.
The old man had been residing within the cave abode for quite a while. Therefore, everything within the cave abode was already nicely organized and decorated. It was like an underground palace.
Tang Yin was already thoroughly familiar with the cave abode, it was all thanks to the old man’s memories.
He went straight to the main room of the cave abode. It was quite large, it took up around 200 meters of space. It was neatly embellished with plain decorations which were not too lavish.
Tang Yin sat down at the centre of the room, there was already a small cushion mat at the centre. He sat down on top of it.
Tang Yin had plenty of things he needed to do. From his rough estimations, it would take him around a year of seclusion to finish doing these things.
The first thing Tang Yin wanted to do was sort out his storage ring.
He had always taken the storage ring of all the cultivators he killed, he usually just transferred the items into his storage ring without sorting them out. There were numerous items scattered here and there within his storage ring, he needed to organise his storage ring to keep track of all the items he possessed.
Tang Yin had killed thousands of cultivators, which included plenty of Qi Transformation Realm cultivators. Not only this, but he had also looted and ransacked all of the sects and organizations he had exterminated, the number of resources and items in his storage ring could rival even a Rank 5 Organization.
Although looting the resources and items from a small organization or sect was useless to Tang Yin, if it was accumulated with hundreds of other similar organizations’ wealth, it would aggregate to a terrifying amount.
Fortunately, his storage ring was also large enough to store that many items, otherwise, he would need to carry around many storage rings with him which would be very inconvenient.
Tang Yin sent his will into his storage ring. He saw a boundless space with items of all types scattered everywhere. This included Medicinal Pills, Artifacts, Martial Skills, Training Manuals, Spirit Stones, Demonic Beast corpses and parts, various materials, resources, etc.
Tang Yin heaved a sigh, he knew this would take a long time to sort out. But he was not disheartened or even frustrated. All of these items belonged to him, after sorting them out, he would have a strong perception of his current wealth.
Tang Yin got to work. He separated all of the items into separate categories and placed them into different parts of his storage ring.
Artifacts were all placed on one side, Medicinal Pills were arranged on another side whilst Demonic Beast corpses and parts were put on a different side.
Like this, Tang Yin separated and arranged his resources and items inside his storage ring.
It took Tang Yin a good few days to finish arranging everything. Once he was done, he was left in shock. Even he did not know that he was so wealthy.
In terms of Medicinal Pills, he had tens of thousands of them ranging from Tier 9 to Tier 6, including the Tier 2 Domain Formation Pill gifted to him by Tian Huang.
As for Artifacts, he had hundreds of them varying from Tier 9 to Tier 7. There were also a few Tier 6 Artifacts. The Tier 3 Holy Saint Brush was also present.
He also had the corpses and Demonic Beast Cores of over 10,000 Demonic Beasts varying from Rank 1 to Rank 5.
Since Tang Yin had destroyed various sects and organizations, as well as plundered the legacy of power cultivators, he had thousands of Martial Skills and hundreds of Training Manuals from Tier 9 to Tier 6. This was excluding the Martial Skills and Training Manuals in Tian Huang’s inheritance.
As for cultivation resources which could increase one’s cultivation base or have various other uses, Tang Yin had plenty of them ranging from common resources to extremely rare resources. They were mainly of the body-tempering and soul-nourishing type. Most of them had been acquired from the Four Seasons Sect.
There were also a ton of herbs, ores, materials etc which could make cultivators with a cultivation profession such as Alchemists, Forgers, Formation Masters etc, turn green with envy.
Tang Yin was able to recognize every single item and treasure in his storage ring. This was all thanks to Tian Huang’s jade token which contained his boundless knowledge.
Tang Yin additionally did not forget the cultivator corpses in his storage ring. Although there were only around 10 of them, they all belonged to Qi Transformation Realm cultivators of various stages. They could be sold for an astronomical price each.
Lastly, what shocked Tang Yin the most was the Spirit Stones. The sheer amount rendered him speechless.
There were over a billion Low-grade Spirit Stones, 500,000,000+ Mid-grade Spirit Stones and almost 200,000,000 High-grade Spirit Stones. As for Supreme-grade Spirit Stones, there were only a couple hundred thousand.
Although Tang Yin had no use for them at the moment, this did not mean he would not need the Spirit Stones in the future.
He also possessed Tian Huang’s 3 jade tokens and inheritance as well as the Heavenly Demon Robe.
The Azure Luan Pouch too was hanging off his waist, it contained the evolving Xiao Fei.
Thinking of this, Tang Yin gazed at the Azure Luan Pouch, it had been a few months since he last saw Xiao Fei. Although a couple of months of time was not long for cultivators, Tang Yin felt that it had been an eternity since he last saw Xiao Fei.
With a soft sigh, Tang Yin moved on to the next thing he wanted to do, refine more Killing Intent using the Ethereal Slaughter Art.
