Chapter 189: Arriving at the Border
One did not need to be checked upon leaving Four Seasons Island. However, their exit would be noticed by the cultivators and Elder who was presiding over the Sect Protection Formation.
As Tang Yin left the Spring Hall, he headed straight towards the dome of light covering the island.
A gap opened up automatically as Tang Yin neared the dome of light. After Tang Yin left, it closed back up again.
The tricky part of Tang Yin’s plan was not assuming the old woman’s identity. Instead, it was explaining how he had killed numerous Rank 5 Demonic Beasts when he returned from the south zone’s border.
If Tang Yin wanted to collect the sect contribution points of his mission, he had to present evidence of its completion. The evidence Tang Yin had to display was the corpses of the Demonic Beasts he killed.
Tang Yin could show only the required amount, but then he would only get the minimal amount of sect contribution points.
What Tang Yin needed to do was to come up with a good explanation of how he obtained the carcasses of numerous Rank 5 Demonic Beasts without attracting the attention of the sect elders upon himself.
Although this was going to happen in a couple of months, it was not a bad thing to plan ahead of time. He could always make changes later and even completely change the plan depending on how the original situation progressed.
The Four Seasons Island was located at the centre of the south zone. With Tang Yin’s speed, it would only take him a couple of days to reach the south zone’s border.
The journey was quite uneventful and passed by in the blink of an eye.
The south zone’s border was actually just a giant ravine in the sea. In fact, all 4 zones in the Devil Sea Region were separated by giant ravines which was why they were individually named as zones instead of the whole Devil Sea Region being one territory.
There were numerous islands of various sizes just before the giant ravine on the south zone’s side. They were not too close to the giant ravine but not too far away either.
The cultivators who were resisting the constant attacks of the north zone were all stationed on these islands to keep a watch over the giant ravine.
If a Demonic Beast wanted to enter the south zone from the north zone, it would need to cross the giant ravine. It would be very difficult to cross the giant ravine unnoticed unless the Demonic Beast could fly.
Tang Yin headed to the largest island of all the islands situated near the giant ravine.
The Four Seasons Sect was leading the resistance against the north zone. They were naturally in charge and possessed the largest island on the border. The other cultivators who were either subsidiaries of the Four Seasons Sect or were cultivators from the south zone who were forced to participate in the war were all stationed on the smaller islands.
The Four Seasons Sect and other large organizations in the south zone had spent a huge chunk of wealth to reinforce their border’s defences.
Each island, no matter whether big or small, possessed many defences.
They all possessed at least multiple Array Formations which served multiple purposes such as defence, attack, sealing, illusion etc. Other than that, the many islands were also provided with Artifacts and Medicinal Pills of various tiers.
The Artifacts were specially designed to deal with Demonic Beasts by the Forgers who created them.
The Medicinal Pills mostly consisted of the healing variety. Only cultivators who were injured during battles against Demonic Beasts were provided Medicinal Pills to heal themselves.
When Tang Yin arrived above the largest island where the Autumn Hall of the Four Seasons Sect was stationed, he saw multiple buildings.
These buildings were built with a military purpose in mind. They were reinforced with the toughest metal, embedded with small Array Formations and some even had Spirit Beasts guarding them.
Even Tang Yin was shocked by the drastic measures taken on mere buildings. ’Was the invasion from the north zone really that powerful?’
Tang Yin was stopped right outside of the island when he arrived. A cultivator came out to greet him. It was an old man with a Spirit Vein Condensation Realm cultivation base.
He was using a shuttle-looking Artifact to move through the sky. This was one of the Artifacts created for cultivators on the border to fly through the air to travel. After all, Qi Transformation Realm cultivators were scarce.
"Senior, are you here to join the Autumn Hall to resist the attacks of the north zone?" The cultivator wrapped his fist in his palm and bowed in respect before politely enquiring.
"I’ve been sent on a mission to help the Autumn Hall defend against the attacks of the north zone for a little while." Tang Yin replied with a bit of arrogance. He had to keep up the arrogant façade of the old woman.
"Oh, I see. May I please see your sect token? I apologize for my offence." The old man politely asked again. He did not want to offend a cultivator with a high cultivation base like the old woman before him. However, he had no choice. He had to check the identity of every cultivator who wanted to enter the island.
Tang Yin let out a cold snort, but he still brought out the old woman’s token and tossed it to the old man. After a quick glance, the old man respectfully returned it.
"This way Senior." The old man gestured for Tang Yin to follow behind him. He then sped off towards the island on his shuttle.
