Chapter 178: Life and Death Seal and Phantom Steps

Tang Yin knew his power had increased by leaps and bounds. But he did not have a way to test it at the moment.

Therefore, he moved on to the next technique he wanted to learn from Tian Huang’s inheritance.

There were 2 Divine Spirit Skills in the jade tokens. Unfortunately, Tang Yin needed to at the very least grasp Principles before being able to learn them. He could only learn Martial Skills at the moment.

The next skill Tang Yin wanted to learn was called the Life and Death Seal. It was a Tier 5 Martial Skill.

To use the Life and Death Seal, one had to use their vitality as the source. This was the life part of the seal.

Using the vitality absorbed from its user, the Life and Death Seal would bring forth a strong offensive attack. This could only be executed once unless the user was willing to sacrifice more of their vitality to cast the skill again.

The Life and Death Seal was usually used as a last resort for cultivators in desperate situations. However, Tang Yin only needed to Devour living beings or corpses to replenish his vitality. As long as he had a few Demonic Beast corpses in his storage ring, he could cast the Life and Death Seal without paying much of a price.

Practising this Martial Skill would usually sap a cultivator’s vitality the more they practised it. But this was not a problem for Tang Yin. He had a few Rank 3 Demonic Beast carcasses in his storage ring.

....

more months trickled by silently for Tang Yin.

He had been constantly practising the Life and Death Seal. He had finally mastered it after countless trials and errors. Coincidentally, he was also out of Demonic Beast corpses.

There was no increase in Tang Yin’s cultivation or any changes to his physical body. He had increased his options and strength in the aspect of techniques and skills.

He was not done yet though. There were still a few more skills he wanted to learn.

The next skill Tang Yin wanted to learn was called Phantom Steps. This was a Tier 5 movement-type Martial Skill.

The Lightning Movement was great, but it was only a Tier 7 Martial Skill. The Phantom Steps was a Martial Skill of greater power and variety. As Tang Yin’s strength increased at a rapid pace, the Lightning Movement skill was becoming less efficient.

The Phantom Steps was not too hard to learn. It only required constant practice and a lot of time. Tang Yin had plenty of time and he was always a serious person. Learning the Phantom Steps was only a matter of time.

Tang Yin left his cave abode. To practice the Phantom Steps, he needed a large space.

The island he was on was not very large. However, it was large enough to practice the Phantom Steps.

Tang Yin slowly started to practice the Phantom Steps. Every time he moved, there would be a trail of afterimages and projections behind him. They were still very indistinct. Once he mastered the Phantom Steps, they would be clearer and more lifelike.

Like this, another couple of months passed.

Tang Yin had been on the island for over a year.

He had almost completely mastered the Phantom Steps. There were a few small details he had yet to perfect. Other than that, Tang Yin had practically already mastered the Phantom Steps.

But he was still not satisfied yet. He wanted to completely perfect the Phantom Steps.

During the past few months, Tang Yin had also taken out some time to go over the 3rd jade token to increase his knowledge of the cultivation world.

He learned about all sorts of herbs, materials and species of Demonic Beasts.

A week passed by. Tang Yin roared towards the heavens. He had finally completely mastered the Phantom Steps!

He had been diligently practising the Phantom Steps during the past week. He had mainly focused on his weaknesses regarding the Phantom Steps. Now he had completely mastered the Martial Skill.

From Tang Yin’s rough estimate, he gouged that he had the ability to contend against an Early-stage Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator! This was under the premise that said Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator did not attack with their divine sense.

Tang Yin did not have any methods to protect himself from the divine sense of Spirit Ascension Realm cultivators. Nevertheless, he was confident in every other aspect if he were to face a Spirit Ascension Realm cultivator in battle.

Just as Tang Yin was basking in the delightful feeling of becoming stronger, he felt a faint disturbance from the Azure Luan Pouch.

Xiao Fei was about to awaken!
