Chapter 177: Refining Killing Intent
Tang Yin was hesitating.
’Should I continue to Sea Star City? If I do, I’ll get tangled in this war between Demonic Beasts and cultivators. I can only increase my cultivation with Spirit Flames. There is no need for me to go to Star Sea City.’
’I originally planned to go to Sea Star City to broaden my horizons and look for materials which I could Devour to refine my body. But now my body has already been refined multiple times in the Heaven Ascension Peak.’
’If I get involved in this war, I’ll have to kill a colossal amount of Demonic Beasts. There is not really much use for their corpses. Unless I have tens of thousands, there won’t be much of an impact if I Devour them to enhance my physical constitution.’
’It’s best to go into seclusion far away from this war and slowly build up my strength in other ways.’ After a long while of racking his brains, Tang Yin finally made up his mind.
He was going to go into seclusion, once he came out, there would probably be an outcome in the war.
If the Demonic Beasts won the war, he would leave the region. If the cultivators won the war, then he would explore the Devil Sea Region for a bit before trying to find a way to return to the Drifblim Region.
He had not forgotten about the female Qi Transformation Realm cultivator who had forced him to teleport here.
Tang Yin turned back around and searched for a secluded island which was far away from the south zone’s border.
He was going to spend a few years in seclusion. Therefore, he wanted an island that was not too huge and did not contain any Qi which could attract Demonic Beasts and cultivators.
Finding such an island was not too hard. Most islands like this were not inhabited by any cultivators or Demonic Beasts as there was no Qi to cultivate with.
It only took a couple of hours of flying around and using the Heaven Piercing Gaze to find an island which met his requirements.
Tang Yin cleared out any Rank 1 Demonic Beasts on the island. Then he emptied out the inside of the largest mountain on the island and turned it into his grotto.
The quickest way to increase his strength was by practising the various Martial Skills and techniques in Tian Huang’s inheritance. The Ethereal Slaughter Art was the first Martial Skill Tang Yin wanted to practice.
Tang Yin sat down on the floor cross-legged. He then read over the Ethereal Slaughter Art once more before starting to learn the first layer.
Tang Yin’s eyes shone with a demonic glint. Thick Killing Intent emanated from his body. This was the Killing Intent gathered from killing thousands of cultivators and thousands of Demonic Beasts. It created a suffocating pressure around him.
According to the first layer of the Ethereal Slaughter Art, refining the Killing Intent around him was not hard. All he had to do was assimilate it with his own will and bring it under his control.
There was a downside to this though. He had to make sure his willpower was strong enough to assimilate with the Killing Intent. Otherwise, the Killing Intent could instead pollute his mind and turn him into a demon who only knew slaughter.
The strength of Tang Yin’s willpower was sufficient enough to refine the Killing Intent around him. His willpower was much stronger compared to other cultivators. His willpower had been refined through countless battles, countless life-and-death situations and countless hardships.
Tang Yin swiftly sucked in the Killing Intent around him inside of his body. He then slowly started the process of fusing his will into it.
The sheer amount of Killing Intent around Tang Yin was colossal. It took him a few months to refine half of it.
During these few months, Tang Yin remained stationary without moving an inch. His eyes remained closed, and he focused solely on refining his Killing Intent.
Another few months passed by in the blink of an eye. It had almost been a year since Tang Yin entered seclusion.
Tang Yin opened his eyes. They sparkled with a demonic red glimmer before slowly fading away and returning back to his eerie abyssal black eyes.
’Success’ Tang Yin excitedly thought to himself. He had successfully been able to merge his will into the Killing Intent. He had succeeded in the refinement.
Although he could not feel the increase in his power, he knew that it had increased largely with the addition of being able to manipulate a large amount of Killing Intent.
Tang Yin flipped his hand, crimson fog churned in his palm before taking the solid form of a dagger. The crimson dagger then turned back into fog which seeped back into his body.
Tang Yin could control the Killing Intent he had refined to take any shape or form he desired. Whether it was a gaseous, liquid or solid state, the Killing Intent could take any form.
Unfortunately, Tang Yin would need to reach the Peak-stage of the Principle Comprehension Realm before he could start practising the second layer of the Ethereal Slaughter Art.
