Chapter 152: Second Trial: Shadow Puppet Hall
Tang Yin knew that this information and enlightenment given to him by Tian Huang was the additional reward he had promised him.
"Now that I have given you what was promised, it’s time to move on to the next trial." Tian Huang announced. He waved his arm, Tang Yin was wrapped in a ball of golden light before disappearing. The next instant Tian Huang also vanished.
When Tang Yin regained his vision, he was back on the thousand-foot-wide platform. All of the remaining participants were also on the platform.
They all stared at Tang Yin with envy, jealousy, shock and astonishment.
’They must have figured out bits and bots from connecting the dots and witnessing Scattered Soul Daoist appearing on the platform before me.’ Tang Yin realised after seeing everyone staring at him with a variety of emotions.
The next moment, dense golden light gathered above the platform before taking the form of Tian Huang.
With his usual indifferent and aloof look, he languorously declared. "All of you present have passed the first trial. Enter the Tempest Palace again to undertake the second trial." After saying this, he scattered as golden light and seeped into the gates of the Tempest Palace.
The gates of the Tempest Palace opened with a loud rumble.
The cultivators on the platform manifested their wings and flew towards the Tempest Palace.
Tang Yin grinned, he was now a Qi Transformation Realm cultivator. He could also manifest wings.
He channelled his Abyss Qi through his spirit veins and into his back. He then imagined himself growing wings. Pitch-black wings created from Abyss Qi quickly took form on Tang Yin’s back. They gave off an eerie aura. If anyone stared at the wings for too long, they would feel as if their very soul was being drawn in.
With a woosh, Tang Yin soared into the air whizzed past all of the cultivators and reached the Tempest Palace first as a black arc.
The other cultivators’ expressions changed, including Scattered Soul Daoist. They remembered that Tang Yin was only a Spirit Vein Condensation Realm cultivator in the first trial.
’He must have reached the 1000th step and taken the serendipity. The serendipity should have allowed him to reach the Qi Transformation Realm.’ Scattered Soul Daoist lamented various negative emotions that appeared in his heart. He believed that the serendipity should have belonged to him.
’His speed is also much faster compared to the average Qi Transformation Realm cultivator. That kid should be able to battle cultivators who are a few stages above him. I’ve already threatened him, it’s best to get rid of a tiger while it is still a cub.’ A fierce glint appeared in Scattered Soul Daoist’s eyes, Killing Intent brewed within him which was targeted towards Tang Yin.
Tang Yin sensed the Killing Intent directed towards him, he whipped his head around to look at the source. He saw Scattered Soul Daoist glaring at him with Killing Intent, he did not even bother to hide it.
The other cultivators also noticed the tense atmosphere between Scattered Soul Daoist, and various thoughts arose in their minds. Nevertheless, they did not get involved, they chose to sit on the fence.
With a sneer, Tang Yin entered the Tempest Palace. The rest followed suit behind him.
When Tang Yin opened his eyes, he was visibly shocked.
He was currently standing at the entrance of an enormous hall. The hall was very large, around 10,000 feet big. It was mostly empty except for the 30 pillars placed around the hall.
The pillars were connected from the floor to the ceiling. The designs of mythical creatures such as dragons and phoenixes were carved on their surfaces. They permeated an ancient air.
At the centre of the hall was an Array Formation 30 feet large, it was embedded into the ground.
Before anyone could snap out of their shock, golden light condensed in a single spot in the air to create Tian Huang.
Tian Huang spoke almost immediately after he appeared, "This is where the second trial will be held, Shadow Puppet Hall."
"This trial is relatively simple, it will test your cultivation. You will need to face puppets of the same strength as yourselves. To pass the trial, you will need to defeat 3 puppets of similar strength to your own."
"If you cannot do so, then you can die, there is no need for such weakness. There is no reward at the end, the second trial is a test of life and death. Everything will be determined by your strength."
"You are allowed to use any methods at your disposal. However, you are not allowed to attack the other participants, or I will kill you."
"You will face one puppet at a time and will have no time to rest. There is plenty of space, spread out." Tian Huang spent a good few minutes filling everyone in about the rules and content of the second trial.
Everyone’s expression was grim, facing opponents of similar strength was already a very difficult task. Not only did they have to kill such an opponent, but they also had to kill 3 of them.
With gloomy appearances, the participants spread out and took a portion of the Shadow Puppet Hall for themselves.
Battles between Qi Transformation Realm cultivators were always on a large scale. There was bound to be large-scale destruction.
