Chapter 320: Chapter 227 Moon Goddess and King of Slaughter_3

The major transcendent forces were about to begin their hunt for the Dark Knight, and he was contemplating countermeasures.

‘If it’s just based on my own strength, it’s definitely not enough… However, the members of the Circus haven’t grown strong enough, and it wouldn’t be appropriate to rashly involve them in this matter.’

Chen Lun busied himself in the underground brewing cellar, his hands constantly moving, yet his mind was turning over at high speed.

‘Even if I take action personally, I can’t directly reveal my identity… When the time comes, I’ll just disguise myself with the “Stardust Pot” and use the alias of the Silver Pot Knight, Flun.’

He smiled slightly.

His hands moved away from the glass container, inside which the liquid had finished fermenting.

Chen Lun expertly poured it into bottles and sealed them.

Following that, he directly took out the black iron box and placed it on the stand, opening its lid.

Clang!

Inside the black iron box was pitch blackness, as if it were a huge maw linked to an endless abyss.

‘Having used up my remaining ordinary level transcendent materials to brew three more bottles of supernatural wine, I should be able to trade them with the Murder Club for the service of three Mid Sequence transcendants.’

Chen Lun gently placed the wine bottles into the black iron box.

This box was a Mysterious Object crafted by the Murder Club, specifically for depositing “supernatural wine.”

The bottom of the box was a dark expanse, murky shadows, as the bottles sank slowly into it like in a swamp, eventually disappearing without a trace.

Chen Lun then stuffed the other two bottles in as well.

Immediately he took out the cup used to summon the Murder Club’s Spiritual Realm Messenger and gently flicked it.

Ding!

The sound echoed in the cellar.

He took out paper and pen, stood by the table, and began to write, the content very succinct:

‘Three bottles of supernatural wine have been delivered, in exchange for an assassination, target—member of Red Rose Squad Number Seven.’

Red Rose Squad Number Seven was the very transcendent squad led by Jerome.

Chen Lun hadn’t forgotten the divination’s forewarning; besides the Sun Church, Moon Church, and Shelter, that guy Jerome was also secretly considering taking down Mr. Bales.

For now, he was uncertain about which elite transcendants would join the hunt, so he had no choice but to make a “precise trade assassination” targeting this covert enemy in the shadows.

It was certainly not a desire for revenge.

He chose not to target Jerome because Chen Lun felt it was unrealistic.

As the brewer himself, he was all too aware of the three bottles’ quality, which, although good, was far from enough to trade for a powerful enough transcendent to kill Jerome.

The professional Wine Appraisers of the Murder Club would definitely come to the same conclusion, so at most, three experienced Sequence Seven individuals would be dispatched.

‘It would be good to weaken the Red Apple Church’s power as much as possible…’

Chen Lun thought to himself and then took out his most precious wine, the “Blood Wine of Mielna.” He looked hesitant, but decisively placed it into the box.

Only after the bottle was completely engulfed did he continue writing on the paper:

‘One bottle of elite supernatural wine has been delivered, in exchange for an assassination, target—Jerome, the ‘Bone Carving Monk’ of the Red Apple Church!’

Chen Lun’s gaze was indifferent, as he had long awaited this moment.

Ever since he had plotted the Sub Occupation of Brewmaster and joined the Murder Club, this had been his purpose.

If one encountered an enemy that was beyond their ability to kill and who was constantly mindful of them, then it was time to hire help!

Not only was Jerome a powerful transcendent lurking in the dark for this hunt against Bales, but he was also Lafa’s right-hand man, a boss-level character in version 1.0 of the latter stages.

Ridding himself of this guy earlier would save trouble.

Ting Tang!

A clinking of glasses sounded.

Chen Lun thought it was the Spiritual Realm Messenger’s arrival and was ready to hand over the written letter, but he suddenly paused.

‘The wine is not bad, I’ll take it.’

A light laugh ensued, that familiar male voice arising from afar.

Chen Lun stood rooted to the spot, looking around, yet no one was there.

‘That voice just now… was it the Conspiracy Angel, Conrad?!’

He suddenly felt the situation was absurd, how could his first wine delivery attract the King of Slaughter?!

Conrad taking his wine implied that He would personally take action to assassinate Jerome!

Chen Lun first took a deep breath, then a sense of excitement welled up within him.

Jerome… was as good as dead!

‘Although the “Blood Wine of Mielna” is precious, it shouldn’t have attracted His attention… As an angel at the end of the Sequence, why would Conrad be interested in this bottle of wine?’

Chen Lun coolly pondered again.

He first ruled out anything special about himself and then arrived at an answer.

‘It’s probably because of the original ingredients of this wine, which are related to Maggie…’

Only the things belonging to another angel would interest the King of Slaughter, Chen Lun couldn’t think of any other reason.

Ting Tang!

This time, the clinking sound was right beside Chen Lun’s ear.

The real Spiritual Realm Messenger had arrived.

It was a man dressed like a waiter, his face shrouded in a layer of shadow, unseeable. He draped a towel over one arm, holding a tray in the other, and the hand with an empty wine glass, standing rigidly.

It was he who had just clinked glasses with Chen Lun.

‘Sir, may I inquire if you have any needs?’

The waiter bowed slightly.

Chen Lun crossed out the information about Jerome on the paper, then left another of his pseudonyms “Qiaoke,” before placing the paper on the man’s tray.

In addition, he took out a letter he had written long ago and placed it there.

‘Please deliver this letter to Mr. Akebin,’

Chen Lun said softly.

‘Certainly, please rest assured,’

The faceless waiter responded.

Chen Lun nodded and then took out two Gold Lists, placing them on the tray.

‘Thank you, sir,’

The waiter saluted and with a step backward, vanished from sight.

Chen Lun leaned back against the workbench, cupping his cheek in thought.

‘There shouldn’t be any issues with the Red Apple Church… As for the Sun Church, Moon Church, and Shelter, it’s uncertain, so I’ll call Akebin and Drake over first… Then we’ll see how things go from there.’

He hadn’t forgotten that Akebin owed him a favor and Drake owed him a life.

To have hitmen at his disposal and not use them would be foolish.
