Chapter 68: 68 | Mana Hurricane!

The apartment felt strangely peaceful after Dexter left.

Silence settled over the house.

The apartment had been completely restored by the Hero Association. Every cracked wall had been repaired and repainted and even the shattered window had been replaced with new glass so clear it seemed invisible and every damaged piece of furniture had been restored or replaced with identical items.

If someone had never seen the destruction caused by the monster attack, they would never believe anything had happened here.

Even the kitchen looked brand new. The countertops gleamed. The stove sparkled.

The refrigerator hummed quietly in the corner.

The lingering aroma of breakfast still floated through the apartment. Diamond Rice had a unique scent that lingered for hours. It was subtle and pleasant, like the memory of a beautiful dream.

Lyra sat on the couch, hugging a pillow as she lazily rubbed her full stomach. Her feet were tucked beneath her. Her smart glasses reflected the light on the ceiling and beside her rested several empty bowls stacked carelessly on the table. A pile that would have embarrassed any ordinary person.

She had folded and eventually eaten the ordinary rice Dexter had prepared

The food had been delicious.

No...

It had been unbelievable.

She had never tasted anything like it. Every grain of rice had seemed alive on her tongue. Every bite had been like swallowing pure energy. The warmth had spread from her stomach to her fingertips to the roots of her hair.

She wasn’t even cultivating but the Grand Cosmos Scripture was automatically circulating, draining in mana from the void by itself after her absorption speed increased so massively. Her muscles felt loose and relaxed and her mind felt sharp and clear.

She couldn’t understand how Dexter’s cooking kept improving every single day. It wasn’t a gradual improvement either.

Meanwhile...

Selene quietly returned to her room.

She closed the door behind her with a soft click and sat cross-legged on the bed with her back straight and her palms resting on her knees. She closed her eyes and breathed in slowly.

She breathed out slowly.

Golden streams of mana drifted through the room like invisible currents. With the permanent increase of absorption speed, mana flowed like a flood into her, through her pores.

They flowed through the air in spirals before being drawn toward the dormant Star Node within her body.

Unlike ordinary cultivation techniques that relied on shattered meridians...

The Grand Cosmos Scripture ignored them entirely.

Every strand of mana bypassed the broken pathways inside her body and flowed directly toward the sleeping Star Node. It was like water finding a new route around a collapsed dam. The mana didn’t force its way through. It simply went around.

It was nothing short of miraculous.

There was no burning sensation nor was there any sharp stabs in her chest or feeling of her meridians tearing apart under pressure.

Just mana flowing into her ceaslessly.

A faint smile unknowingly appeared on Selene’s lips. It was small and barely visible. But it was real.

She treasured this feeling. She held onto it like a precious gem found in the dark and this was all due to Dexter. Her life changed when she met him and he hadn’t stopped surprising them yet.

Outside the room...

Mira rested quietly on her wheelchair near the living room window. The morning sunlight streamed through the glass and warmed her face. Her eyes remained closed as she also cutivated.

Streams of energy flowed through her like a dam released. Even the window shook with pressure as mana surged directly towards her.

If it wasn’t for the barrier, the neighbors with sharp mana affinity would be stunned to see as mana roared and surrounded the entire house like a barrier surging around as though a mana vaccum was in side the room.

They called this phenomenon Mana Hurricane. It was rumored that only when someone with SSS rank mana affinity was cultivating or when a Transcendent level Hero was cultivating did this phenomenon happen. And right now, it was happening in Dexter’s house.

Simultaneously, orange glowing spectral arms floated behind her.

Although she had awakened them yesterday, controlling them still felt awkward. It was like trying to write with her feet, it was clumsy.

She needed practice.Lots of practice but Still...

Compared to lying helplessly in bed, unable to move, unable to reach for a cup of water, unable to scratch her own nose...

This tiny improvement was enough to give her hope.

Hope that perhaps... One day...

She would stand again.

Hours quietly passed.

The apartment remained silent except for the faint sounds of breathing as the three girls immersed themselves in cultivation. The clock on the wall ticked steadily. Sunlight crept across the floor in slow steps, just like a thief.

It was nearly noon when Selene finally opened her eyes.

"...Water..."

Her throat felt slightly dry. Cultivating for extended periods always left her dehydrated.

Without disturbing the others, she slowly stood up from the bed. She pushed herself upright with both hands and waited a moment for her balance to stabilize.

Although blind, she had memorized every corner of the apartment within two days after moving in. She had walked the space countless times since then, mapping it in her mind.

She quietly made her way toward the kitchen. Her bare feet touched the floor softly, making almost no sound.

Her fingers lightly brushed against the wall as she walked. The texture of the wallpaper guided her forward. Smooth. Cool. Familiar.

Ten more steps...

Five...

Three...

She reached the kitchen.

Using memory alone, she stretched her hand toward the cabinet where the drinking glasses were stored. Her fingers found the edge of the counter. She traced along it until she reached the correct spot, her hand moving with the confidence of someone who had done this exact motion hundreds of times.

At that exact moment, a sharp sound echoed overhead.

CRACK!

The wall-mounted cabinet suddenly tilted forward without warning. One of the screws holding it in place had apparently loosened during the previous repairs. The repair team had replaced the cabinet but hadn’t checked the mounting brackets thoroughly.

The entire wooden cabinet detached from the wall. It swung downward heavily.

Straight toward Selene’s head.
