Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Letting Yun Han Take Care of Ning Xuan

"I have this medicine too. Ning Xuan isn’t just *your* Contractor; she gave some to me as well," Yun Han said, not to be outdone as he eyed the vial in Yu Mingche’s hand.

"Then why haven’t you used it?" Yu Mingche put his own medicine away. This medicine was incredibly precious. If he weren’t worried about delaying Yun Han’s recovery, he wouldn’t have been willing to take it out.

"A minor wound like this will heal even without medicine." In reality, it was because Yun Han didn’t have much of the medicine Ning Xuan had given him left, and he couldn’t bear to use it.

"Really? It’s your own body. If something’s wrong, don’t just tough it out. I can spare a few vials of my medicine for you." Yu Mingche shook the vial in his hand.

"What, feeling guilty after beating me up?" Yun Han said, sitting in his chair and raising an eyebrow at Yu Mingche.

"You deserved it. If you dare act so presumptuously again, believe me, I’ll hit you again," Yu Mingche said coldly, holding the Vine Whip in his hand.

"Ning Xuan left on her own, didn’t she? She’s wanted to see a real battlefield for a long time, she just never had the chance. You didn’t know where she went at first either, right?" Yun Han had been confused and furious just a moment ago, but now, he had calmed down.

"It’s not that she doesn’t trust me; she hid it from everyone. You were deliberately trying to trap me with what you said earlier." Yun Han glared at Yu Mingche, his expression turning sour.

"How did I trap you? Wasn’t I telling the truth? Don’t think you can cross her bottom line just because she dotes on you. Be careful, or one day she might really abandon you. It’ll be too late for tears then."

"Among all of us, besides Lan Xin and Di Youlin, who are half-beastmen and can only be slaves, you’re the only one with a slave registry. You were demoted because of a crime. Your father is your original sin. I’m reminding you out of kindness. Whether you listen or not is up to you. But if you’re ever cast aside by Ning Xuan, don’t come crying to me."

Yu Mingche’s feelings toward Yun Han were quite complex—a mix of pity and wariness.

He pitied him because, burdened by his father’s actions, he could never become Ning Xuan’s main husband. He was wary of him because Ning Xuan was genuinely fond of him. As long as Yun Han was around, he was always the one she favored most.

"I’ll be more careful from now on," Yun Han replied, accepting Yu Mingche’s gesture of goodwill.

"Now that’s a good boy." Yu Mingche reached out to pat Yun Han’s head. Sensing his intention, Yun Han dodged away in protest.

"What are you dodging for? Don’t you want to see Ning Xuan? I’ve already found her current location. Don’t you want to know?" Yu Mingche grabbed Yun Han by the collar, pulling him close.

"You found her? Where is she?" Yun Han asked excitedly.

"I just found someone whose military rank was rising incredibly fast. Out of curiosity, I pulled up their file and found they look a lot like Ning Xuan. Take a look." Yu Mingche showed Yun Han the photo he had just received.

Yun Han took one glance and shot to his feet. "It’s her! Where is she now? I’m going to find her." The greatest crisis at the Heavenly Might Corps Headquarters Base this past year had been weathered. Yun Han had already handed his work over to his subordinates, and he had no other duties scheduled for the next six months.

"Aren’t you afraid I’m setting you up? I’ll have you know, Ning Xuan sent a message to me and Ying Yaoshi. She forbade us from looking for her, lest we disrupt her plans. Anyone who disobeys will have their contract terminated." Yu Mingche didn’t want to hide this from Yun Han.

"She sent the message to you, not to me. Besides, we haven’t seen each other in so long, she must miss me. And another thing—didn’t you tell me where she is because you want me to go find her? Why beat around the bush and not just say it?" Yun Han shot him a look. Yu Mingche’s seemingly candid attitude was actually a way to absolve himself of all responsibility.

"I never told you to go find Ning Xuan. You’re deciding to go on your own." Yu Mingche would never admit to it out loud. However, Yun Han was powerful and doted on by Ning Xuan, making him the most suitable person to go to her side and protect her.

"Yes, yes, yes, I’m going of my own accord. But don’t worry, if Ning Xuan gets angry, I’ll definitely rat you out," Yun Han said, not to be outdone.

"Here. Take this medicine now. If you don’t drink it, you’re not leaving this room today." Yu Mingche handed Yun Han the special Healing Potion he had taken out earlier.

He certainly couldn’t let Yun Han go looking for Ning Xuan while injured.

These medicines were specially concocted by Ning Xuan for her Contractors. One vial could completely heal even the most severe injuries in a short time.

Yun Han didn’t refuse this time. His face had been on the Star Network before. Although he hadn’t made any public appearances in recent years, there was no guarantee that no one would remember him. Therefore, if Yun Han wanted to see Ning Xuan, he would also need a disguise.

Going to find her without permission was already against Ning Xuan’s wishes. If he was also the reason her identity was exposed, he truly couldn’t bear the consequences.

Yun Han was a man, after all, so transforming his appearance was much simpler than it was for Ning Xuan. The transformation master Yu Mingche found was quite skilled. After working on Yun Han’s face for a while, the noble young master with a refined and strikingly handsome air was changed into an innocent-looking boy with clear eyes, appearing several years younger.

Yun Han looked at his reflection in the mirror, barely recognizing himself. "Yu Mingche, where did you find this transformation master? Their skills are incredible," Yun Han said with satisfaction.

"I’ve packed some of the things Ning Xuan is used to in this Space Button. You need to take good care of her when you get there," Yu Mingche instructed.

"Don’t worry. I’m leaving." It wasn’t recruitment season on S12 Resource Star at the moment. However, Yun Han wasn’t going through the recruitment channels anyway. He was joining a Treatment Team as a Healing System Apprentice to get to S12 Resource Star.

As for Ning Xuan, she had successfully awakened her second Companion Spirit: a dragon with a pair of wings.

’Even among dragons, there are many different breeds and Levels. So what kind of dragon has wings?’

Ning Xuan thought of the myths she had heard in her previous world. According to ancient legends, the Yinglong was the only Divine Dragon with wings, hailed as a true Sky Dragon, a Flying Dragon.

The Yinglong’s scales were golden-yellow. It had two wings, a massive body, a prominent forehead, long horns, and strong limbs. Its form was powerful and agile. When its wings spread, they could blot out the sun and sky. The Yinglong could control wind, rain, and Thunder, and possessed immense Mana.

’Could this dragon of mine be the legendary Yinglong from the myths?’

Ning Xuan stared at the Little Dragon coiled in her palm. Its entire body was covered in shimmering, pale blue scales. On its head were two small bumps—likely its yet-to-be-formed horns—which gleamed with a pearlescent luster in the lightning’s glow.

The young dragon was only as thick as a finger and less than half a meter long. Compared to the majestic, enormous phantom from the day it first materialized, it hardly seemed like the same species.
