Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Corruption Suppressor

"What are you doing?" Charles mumbled.

"Shush! I need to focus."

Carter took out the ingredients and began making the potion. The Brewer’s Chest had all the equipment he needed.

Charles watched closely but he didn’t understand what Carter was doing.

’Shadow Fern, Bone Shrub, Pentagram Pad in Hexilia. Chi Mushroom, Harui Moss, Tamago Nut in Arashi.’

The shadow fern was a deep black plant that looked like it was painted over. Carter used the pressure from his Concoction Brewing to crush the leaves into dust with his hand.

Bone Shrub was a short small plant that looked like a white column. Carter doused it in water. He formed a thick green aura on top of his finger and cut the plant into small pieces.

He could also use the knife but it was quicker that way. His Concoction Brewing Skill was much more useful now since the skin reached Elite.

Elite Adrenaline and Evaporative Decompression also ensured that Carter wouldn’t get tired like last time he was in Anglas.

Pentagram Pad was literally a lily pad but had the shape of a pentagram. Hexilia’s plant life had mutated greatly after years of being influenced by the Gold Stream, resulting in weird plants such as this.

"I don’t think I really know you anymore, Dr. Hugo. You stated that your name was Frankenstein. You have power that I can’t even imagine." Charles muttered.

"Does it matter? I helped you once. I am helping you now. Is it really that important that you know my true name?" Carter replied. His eyes still stayed focused on the task at hand.

Charles chuckled. "You’re right."

The man did not interrupt him again.

Carter quickly processed all the ingredients and used his Concoction Brewing Skill to mix them into a new deep black potion.

"Come on. Help me get her up." Carter said.

Charles didn’t question and trusted Carter completely. He lifted Florence up gently for Carter to feed her the potion.

The clock hands in his gold watch started to spin uncontrollably.

The watch was a traditional twelve-hour circular clock. But it had a few shifting patterns underneath to tell the total hours, days, or weeks if the countdown was too long.

The countdown of 36 hours from before changed to 2 months, 6 days, and 7 hours.

’Huh. So this girl is important.’

The blackness in Florence’s eyes retreated. She breathed evenly now.

"There. She should get better soon."

"What is even happening to her?" Charles said.

"It is complicated, Charles. I will tell you everything soon. But now, let us take a look at you first."

"I’m fine."

"Your face is full of blood. Come here."

Carter stitched the deep cut on Charles’s head. He didn’t have any other injury or concussion.

"You’re quite formidable. Maybe I should teach you how to properly defend yourself."

"What are you going to teach me?"

"We’ll talk soon. Now I need to help these patients."

The nurses and two doctors had gathered outside the room. They’d been watching Carter doing his works and didn’t say a thing.

"You..." A doctor said. "How can a man process the medication like that? It is almost magic."

"It is not magic. It is science." Carter removed his gloves. "And if you train hard enough, you can also have this ability."

The staff were in disbelief. But the person before them was Dr. Frankenstein. He wouldn’t lie.

"Come. We need to treat the patients. Have you prepared the ingredients I asked?" Carter said.

"Yes. The orderlies has gathered all the available ingredients outside."

"Good. We need to treat the patients in the infirmary now."

Carter pulled a nurse closer and told her to do something for him. The nurse was a little bit confused but she agreed in the end.

Carter left with the others.

The nurse quickly took out a paper and wrote the word ’INFIRMARY’ on it. She came to the front entrance and stuck the paper on top of the door.

This Infirmary didn’t even have a sign to indicate that it was an infirmary. That was how bad its facility was.

"Why did Dr. Frankenstein tell me to do this?"

As she finished, the paper disappeared. A green wave spread all over the infirmary before disappeared.

The nurse jerked back in surprise. But nothing happened after that.

"What... This is... Why..." She was completely perplexed.

The nurse hesitated but she still stepped back into the infirmary. For some reasons, as soon as she was inside, she could feel the air become fresher and her body became more healthy.

"No way... Is Dr. Frankenstein a magician or something?"

Manipulating herbs and ingredients with his will and now applied a spell onto the entire structure. The nurse was sure that he was a magician or sorcerer.

Carter guided the doctors and nurses to take care of the patients and quickly made more potions.

These were of course the Basic Antidote. Last time Carter was here, he had used it on a man with Black Blood and successfully treated him. So he figured it would work again.

He gathered as much ingredients to make Basic Antidote as he could so he could make it, give it to the patients.

This wasn’t a selfless act. With the help of the doctors and nurses, the speed of which he could make potions greatly increased.

With each potion made, the amount of gained Synchronization decreased. Eventually, it sat comfortably at five percent per potion, which was a good amount in Carter’s opinion.

He then gave those potions to the nurses so that they could give it to the potion.

Black Blood was much more severe this time. Based on the knowledge his skills gave him, Basic Antidote would have a hard time combating it.

But this was his Infirmary now. Anything the Shadow Apothecary did would be much more effective. This include the patients he treated indirectly through the potions and the recovery rate of the patients.

And then, more Synchronization came.

The Synchronization continued to rise after he reached 100%.

’With this many sick people in Anglas. I can probably farm Shadow Apothecary’s Synchronization all the way to Champion Seed. But I wonder... is it enough to acquire Skin Dolls?’
