Chapter 101: Victor Arrived at the battlefield
The purple dungeon gate fully stabilized in the sky, casting an ominous violet glow over the entirety of Aurora City. Deep within the swirling vortex, inside the spatial confines of the dungeon itself, fifty elite vanguards stood silently, observing the world below. Because Diana was completely suppressing her true aura, they sensed nothing but weakness from the human inhabitants.
The captain of the elite squad gazed through the portal with a look of disappointment.
"This is the planet we are supposed to capture? The price is really high for such a low level world," the captain said with a scoff.
The vice captain, standing beside him, however maintained a cautious expression.
"The vanguards and one pure blood died here. Be careful," the vice captain warned.
"Is that so? Then let us see what they can offer."
The captain shifted his gaze toward one of his soldiers and gestured toward the portal.
"Go and show them what an elite vanguard member is capable of."
"Yes, Captain," the soldier replied.
The lone vanguard member stepped through the portal, descending from the sky above Aurora City. The instant he unleashed his presence, an overwhelming pressure crashed down upon the world. His aura was nearly fifty times greater than that of an ordinary Sage, despite technically being within the same realm.
Down below, the remaining ten Sages immediately felt an overwhelming sense of existential danger.
Except for Diana, who remained completely still, the other ten Sages realized they had no choice but to fight. They were humanity’s absolute peak. If they retreated now, there would be no one left to defend the planet.
Arthur, the president and humanity’s foremost leader, stepped forward first.
As a thunder elemental warrior, he drew his massive longsword while torrents of brilliant blue and white lightning spiraled around its blade. The surrounding atmosphere trembled violently beneath the immense electrical energy.
"Advance!"
Arthur shot forward like a bolt of lightning itself, disappearing from sight before instantly reappearing above the vanguard soldier. His sword descended with enough force to split mountains apart.
At the very same moment, Elyndros, the greatest fire mage among the Sages, raised his ancient staff high into the air.
Dozens of enormous magic circles bloomed behind him.
An endless sea of blinding red flames erupted forth, forming gigantic dragons of fire that roared across the battlefield before converging upon the enemy from the left.
From the shadows below, Lyria silently dissolved into darkness.
Without producing even the slightest sound, she emerged directly behind the soldier. Her twin daggers, coated in corrosive dark energy, pierced toward his blind spots with deadly precision.
The remaining Sages moved in perfect synchronization.
Several assassin class Sages vanished completely before striking from impossible angles, while the others unleashed their highest tier spells simultaneously. Countless blades, elemental attacks, and destructive magic filled the sky, creating a devastating assault from every direction.
Far behind the battlefield, Merlin focused entirely on support.
His hands radiated pure holy light as he continuously cast powerful enhancement and healing magic. Waves of reinforcement strengthened every frontline warrior while shimmering protective barriers absorbed the violent shockwaves spreading across the battlefield.
Their coordination was flawless.
This was humanity’s greatest military force.
A perfectly synchronized assault capable of erasing entire continents from existence.
The vanguard soldier merely snorted.
"Hmph."
Facing the combined might of humanity’s strongest warriors, he did not even bother to dodge.
He casually waved one hand.
Boom!
A terrifying shockwave of condensed energy erupted outward.
Elyndros’s blazing dragons shattered into countless sparks before disappearing completely.
Arthur’s lightning charged sword was violently knocked aside with a deafening metallic clang.
Lyria and every assassin Sage were forcibly expelled from their stealth techniques before being hurled into the ground like broken dolls.
The battlefield fell silent.
The entire battle was already being broadcast throughout humanity via the Federation Network.
People from every nation watched the live broadcast with pale faces.
"What is going on?"
"How can a purple dungeon be real?"
"What kind of monster is that?"
"It looks almost human... except for the wings and horns."
"Why are all the Sages attacking together?"
"Is it really that powerful?"
Across the world, awakeners had been busy hunting monsters under the Federation’s emergency orders.
Now, every single one of them stopped.
No one continued fighting.
They simply stared at the massive screens in complete disbelief.
None of them understood what was happening anymore.
Within five minutes...
The entire Ethereum fell into absolute silence.
The ten Sages, revered as humanity’s strongest protectors, were being toyed with like helpless children by a single monster.
Just one soldier.
If a lone soldier possessed such terrifying strength...
...what would happen once the rest of the army emerged?
The vanguard soldier slowly looked down at the defeated Sages with visible confusion.
"You are really pathetic."
He tilted his head slightly.
"How did insects like you manage to kill a pure blood dragon?"
Arthur struggled to rise to his feet, gripping his trembling sword.
Behind him, Merlin desperately poured healing magic into the battered Sages, trying to repair shattered bones and life threatening wounds.
But the difference in power was simply too overwhelming.
The soldier slowly raised one hand.
A sphere of violently destructive energy condensed within his palm.
He was preparing to erase the ten insects before him.
Diana clenched her fists.
"I cannot wait any longer."
"If I do not act now... they will all die."
She silently calculated the outcome.
"I should be able to kill this monster using less than one percent of my power. If I limit myself that much... perhaps my bloodline will remain hidden."
Darkness quietly spread beneath her feet.
Her dark domain began to manifest.
"Victor... I am sorry."
"I cannot let them die in front of my eyes."
The Sages lay bloodied across the battlefield, barely conscious.
None of them possessed enough strength to resist anymore.
They could only wait for their execution.
Just as Diana prepared to attack...
A spatial portal suddenly opened beside the monster.
Without warning, a beam of internal flame burst from the portal.
The attack instantly vaporized the soldier’s glowing arm before his spell could even be released.
Silence.
Diana’s eyes widened.
She immediately withdrew her dark domain.
The monster also froze.
His eyes widened in complete disbelief as he stared at the place where his arm had existed only moments earlier.
His hand... had completely vanished.
"So this is the powerhouse we were informed about..." he thought calmly, even though he was in tremendous pain.
Another spatial portal slowly opened.
Victor stepped out from that portal.
His hands remained calmly folded behind his back as he looked down upon the monster as though gazing at nothing more than an insignificant insect.
[Combat Power: 1 Mega Star]
(One Mega Star was equivalent to one hundred billion Stars.)
Although Victor had only reached the Epic Realm, his actual combat power had already climbed to one Mega Star, placing him on the level of an ordinary Elemental Lord.
Against such strength...
A regular vanguard soldier was utterly insignificant.
"You came alone, insect?" Victor asked coldly.
His right hand immediately ignited with another terrifying spell.
Without hesitation, he fired it.
Before the attack could reach its target...
A powerful barrier materialized before the injured soldier, effortlessly intercepting the spell.
"Whoa... whoa..."
"What a terrifying aura."
"And yet you are only a Grade Six ant."
"You must be the one who killed the pure blood dragon, correct?"
Another humanoid creature slowly stepped out from the purple dungeon.
It was the vice captain.
After sensing Victor’s frightening presence, he had personally chosen to enter the battlefield and the cautious look from before also vanished
He now knew who was their target.
His aura erupted without restraint.
It rivaled Victor’s almost perfectly.
"Only two?" Victor asked calmly, completely ignoring the vice captain’s question.
At that very instant...
Spatial portals opened beneath every defeated Sage.
In the blink of an eye, Arthur, Merlin, Elyndros, Lyria, and the remaining Sages vanished from the battlefield before reappearing safely behind Victor, well beyond the immediate danger zone.
"Diana, can you keep them alive? I will need only a few moments to kill these bugs."
Diana nodded without hesitation.
"Leave them to me."
She immediately rushed toward Merlin and began helping stabilize Arthur and the others.
As she watched Victor standing alone before two overwhelmingly powerful enemies, amazement filled her heart.
His growth...
It was beyond anything she had imagined possible within such a short period.
Yet beneath that amazement remained a deep unease.
Victor was powerful.
Incredibly powerful.
But he was still nowhere near the terrifying strength of the pure blood dragon she had killed before.
And the elemental lord didn’t comeout yet. She didn’t know if he would be stronger than the Earlier dragon or not.
As she continued healing the injured Sages, one question lingered in her mind.
"What exactly are you planning to do next, Victor... to survive the storm that is about to descend?"
And the most important question was, would she be able to watch Victor die if such a situation arrived? And if she acted, what would happen to humanity if her bloodline broke through the 90% barrier and the Heavenly Demons learned about her existence?
