Chapter 220: The Shady Dealer

"Well, as you guys can see, I claimed the Juggernaut class..." Jack summarized in a sentence.

His three friends continued to stare at him. Obviously, he wasn’t satiating their curiosity with just this.

"Fine!" He raised his bulky arms in mock surrender. "I might have also upgraded it to a Titan Slayer Juggernaut variant," he added with closed eyes.

The three glanced at each other, eyes wide in curiosity and shock.

No one could blame Jack for not wanting to speak. That was just how he was. The guy barely made one or two comments a day, so expecting him to narrate his whole class quest would definitely be a challenge.

Seth’s eyes flashed as he pondered, "Titan? As in a Titan-class lifeform?"

Jack’s eyes lit up. Nodding, he explained, "This class... it’s perfect. It not only lets me finally tap into the full potential of my Gene skill, it grants me access to a higher level of raw martial might I never thought possible."

Seeing him speak so much, Seth smiled. That just meant this guy was definitely content with what he got.

"So what scale of damage are we talking about?" Seth asked.

Jack, holding his chin with his fingers, pondered for a few seconds and then replied, "Well, I’ll be efficient against oversized enemies. Numbers I can manage, but that’s not my specialty due to the ridiculous amount of stamina I burn."

Uriel’s brows raised. "Stamina?"

Jack nodded. "Stamina. My class skill burns more stamina than essence to activate."

"Well, that’s new," Uriel muttered.

Meanwhile, Seth was already visualizing the efficiency of their team, and he came to a conclusion...

Brows creasing into a frown, he muttered, "Redundant!" Too much so, in fact.

Elaine was capable of crowd control and AoE attacks. Though one-on-one duels were possible, it didn’t change the fact that wasn’t where her efficiency lay.

Then there was Uriel, whose cavalry path leaned towards AoE and crowd control, though he also had a strong advantage in one-on-one duels.

Finally, there was Jack, who possibly had the greatest attack power of them all. Crowd control might not be his strong suit, but his overwhelming affinity for damage dealing made up for this.

Brandon’s situation was special, and so was his, as he was currently a blank.

With this, one could spot the gaping weakness of their team—or to be more exact, weaknesses!

They had no defense specialist, no healer, no group buff abilities. The list went on.

And from Seth’s experience during his class quest, he had long come to learn how important classes could be.

Seven Immortal Kings were equal in power, yet the difficulty in facing each one varied—all because of class compatibility.

Seth felt lucky that the challenge didn’t go beyond him. The thought of getting locked within that dungeon, facing a being he had no means to deal with... it brought chills down his spine.

This made him more keenly aware of how classes could influence beings.

Facing someone who was your very counter, naturally the possibility of winning would be very slim.

And that was the principle: every path definitely had its own bane, Seth’s included.

His Jack of All Trades class might seem invincible, but with a glance Seth could already deduce most of its weak points.

"Hmm?" Seth noticed the three staring his way. ’Ah right, it’s my turn.’

Smiling, he started narrating his side of things. There wasn’t much to be kept hidden, so he went ahead to tell them everything.

From his encounter with the weird clown-like trademaster to his exit to the Verdant Moon.

Wide-eyed, the three listened. And like always, Seth seemed to be the one experiencing crazy shit!

Within minutes, they understood why their poor friend was late. The guy had faced literal death.

Listening as Seth described his encounter with the Four Aces of the House of Cards, goosebumps rose.

They couldn’t imagine themselves being in a situation where their life and death lay on the whim of another.

Trying to imagine someone far beyond the Awakened Rank? They couldn’t even fathom it!

Heck, they had barely explored the limits of the Awakened Rank itself.

Gazing at Seth, their eyes carried admiration and respect. Based on what Seth just told them, it was safe to say they wouldn’t have survived that dungeon trial.

The four slowed in place as they passed through a crowd of funny-smelling foreign dog-headed people.

And before them was a lively neon-lit street. Clusters of safe residences lined the left like a small estate.

Each residence was boxed into a small 50-acre bandwidth of land space, each barely containing a backyard or a lawn.

But that was understandable. This was the Origin Realm, a place of endless adventure. Hardly anyone came here for luxury, right?

"Cramped, right?" A voice echoed.

Seth and the others blinked, glancing around, searching for the speaker.

"Ahem! Down here!"

And as directed, their gazes trailed downwards. Right before them was a... midget?

"Good, as I was saying—cramped, right?" The red-faced little imp-like humanoid inched closer, cracking a hideous toothy grin.

Seeing his audience still remaining silent, the little figure shifted its weight, relaxing backward. It patted its chest.

"Come on, newbies, there’s nothing to fear. Call me Malgo! Your next-door dealer! Is it weapons you need? Exclusive Origin beast routes? Information? Treasure maps? Residences? I’m your man!"

Seth’s demeanor changed. His expression went stern, his gaze narrowed as he examined the imp a little more closely.

This imp used the term "newbies." How did it know they were new? Was it here to try to take advantage of them? Or—

"Now hold that thought, young man! I, Malgo, am a humble, honest businessman. I do not swindle!" The little imp protested out of nowhere, wagging a little finger at Seth.

Seth blinked. ’Did this little shit just read my mind?’

"What a rude young man! Who do you think you’re calling a little shit! I am Malgo, the biggest dealer in the whole Greenfold Shelter. Hmph!" Crossing his arms, Malgo’s face turned even redder.

Seth’s brows raised. ’That confirms it—he’s definitely reading my mind.’ His Will flared, his Amethyst pupils igniting.

Seth didn’t need to tell the others. Already getting the hint, their Wills broiled.

Malgo scoffed, seeing he couldn’t intercept their thought process anymore. "Tch! Annoying brats. The only reason I’m here is because I have something you guys would definitely be interested in!"

Uriel frowned, already feeling impatient. He felt they’d already accommodated the little imp enough. "And how are you certain we will be interested?"

Suddenly, the imp smiled—a different smile, devious, cunning, and wicked. "Hehe, kids, you’re telling me you don’t know you have enemies?"

Frowning, Uriel was about to rudely deny, but Seth stopped him with a wave of his arm. Staring at the imp seriously, Seth asked,

"Enemies?"

Malgo’s smile twisted wider, spanning broader than his little face. "Well now, you see, the thing is—"

"How much?" Seth rephrased his question, cutting off the little imp’s tattle.

"Atta boy. It seems you lot aren’t all so dumb after all."
