Chapter 195: Dragon Manifestation!
Furious gales whipped, the hazy false sky churning restlessly, the Immortal King’s crimson cape snapping in the wind, his frame standing still...
Every fiber of his being warned that interrupting this transformation would bring more harm than good.
On Seth’s end, an abyssal bloom unfurled from his body, smothering all light in its wake. The murky shadow filled the air like a rising tide.
Furious draconic roars broke through the atmosphere, raging constantly...
Mark, the battle assist, blared its alarm in warning:
[Warning! Warning! Warning! The master is undergoing a physical process unsuitable for genetic suit sustenance!]
[Master, it is advisable to unequip armor!]
Seth gave the command without wasting any more time, his Will pulling the armor back into the inventory.
Exposing his bare chest and the dark leather pants he wore underneath...
On his chest, a pair of excited golden eyes simmered across both sides.
Seth could feel his pet companion’s emotion, the glyph dragon’s excitement at finally getting some action.
Seth’s eyes flashed, letting off a stifled groan as he suppressed the pain welling from his marrow, bones creaking under strain.
His body began to morph and swell, his skin crusting and hardening black as his pores bled, keratin layering into abyssal diamond scales.
This reaction could only be provoked by one of the gene skills of his pet companion, the glyph dragon...
[- Dragon Manifestation: Allows the bearer of the Glyph Dragon to embody the might and pseudo-form of the Legendary dragon beast race. (Can only activate after Body Fuse skill has been used!)]
Scales crawled upward from his chest, coating his face. His teeth gnashed tight as he bent forward, his back blistering disproportionately large.
Seth felt jolts of blinding pain up his spine, a sharp hiss seething from clenched teeth until it morphed into a painful roar that was hauntingly inhuman...
He pulled at the silver strands of his hair, a dense unfiltered essence of shadows wreaking havoc in the space around his frame.
And with a sickening, almost unbearable rupture, a pair of wings tore out of his back, flapping in majesty and dominance...
Seth let out heavy breaths, mist and bloodied saliva pooling in his mouth. His eyes closed as he felt the new, foreign connection to agile limbs.
The instant bond registered as muscle memory — he could control these wings as naturally as his arms. But he felt vast energy reserves draining with each second.
Humans were never meant to be five-limbed creatures, and gaining extras meant burning massive volumes of calories and stamina.
This was the exact reason Seth figured the Asura King ancestor had ingrained into his bloodline a subsidiary race — one he and his descendants could morph into, tapping into the benefits without the human physiological drawbacks.
Seth almost thought his transformation was complete... but which dragon existed without horns?
He croaked, nearly collapsing as unimaginable pain burned in his head. It felt like the worst migraine a creature could be cursed with.
He sensed the concerned whimper of his pet companion, worried about its master, trying to console him...
Seth gritted his teeth, feeling a core protruding from the edges of his temples, keratin coating the outer layer in a golden shell lined with mystical primordial patterns.
Then, suddenly, lightness spread across his being — the pain vanishing in a puff.
His full form, in all its draconic glory, was ready to be beheld...
His scaled lids flickered open, revealing a pair of purple-gold slits mired in the darkness of a black sclera.
The glyph dragon’s excitement was visceral, a budding instinct welling from Seth’s chest. He unleashed a savage roar to the skies!
Though it took long to describe, his transformation at most lasted twenty seconds.
And though this was plenty of time for the Immortal King, one had to recall the furious storm of darkness surrounding Seth.
It wasn’t there for show — it was protection. An instinctive ability of a glyph dragon.
It forfeited a good 40% of its raw draconic essence to form a vast storm of savage darkness, shielding its host until morphing was complete.
And this method was so potent, Immortal King Blood-Sea felt the danger billowing from the shadowy mass.
Seth’s new wings spread wide, beating against the air, his figure instantly taking to the skies...
There he was: obsidian scales glinting with the sheen of cold ivory draped over his skin, his frame noticeably larger, scaling around 8.7 feet.
His muscles thrummed with power, giving him the feeling he could reduce a mountain to rubble even in a higher dimension like the origin realm.
He took a deep breath, feeling a warm current stirring in his chest. Instantly he knew: ’Dragon’s Breath...’
The Immortal King stared up at his prey, eyes flashing with fury. There was a reason he couldn’t fly.
And time and time again, Seth’s silhouette reminded him of the figure who had reduced him to what he was now!
Fury ate away at his reason. Abandoning all caution, he raised a finger to the skies, aimed at Seth’s draconic form.
A blistering charge formed, a small orb at his fingertip. He fired!
The crimson beam tore through the air with the accuracy of a laser and the speed of light!
With Seth’s second Willborne ability, Dimensional Strider, evading this attack was possible. But he didn’t use it. Instead, his frame wreathed in shadows flickered as the attack passed through his figure.
Turning into an intangible shadow, his Will warped space. His wings flapped, and before the Immortal King could comprehend how Seth evaded, Seth’s shadow cast over his crimson figure.
His dual swords appeared in his hands, their silver edges sparking with deadly currents of annihilation...
Though he had claws in this form, he couldn’t forget this was a class quest. The battle had to be ended with a blade!
Wasting no time, his swords rode the wind, both blades slashing out with a scissor cut. Oscillation buzzed wildly, deep gashes tearing into the King’s chest plate!
Though not all the way through, this was still progress!
The Immortal King, sensing danger, sought to retreat. But Seth pressed forward, wings giving him fluidity of movement he had never known.
The King’s gauntlets lit with a crimson sheen, fists clenched, plowing toward Seth.
But Seth curved away effortlessly, spinning, his dual blades glinting — already inches from the seams of his opponent’s helm...
