Chapter 151: Upgrade Rewards

Elaine was preparing to pierce through the heart of a corruption zone before she could cross into another county.

Leading a group of survivors already numbering in two hundred, fortunately through the journey, the stars had already started distinguishing themselves through battle...

Their talents were truly as flourishing as Trisha promised. Some talents weren’t geared towards battle, but after hearing what they were capable of, Elaine had sworn in her heart that she must make sure every one of them survived.

These people could literally shift the entire human race — their value was incomprehensible.

The reason why she was so wary of this core zone was because the system had warned that there was a hibernating charm beast.

And with Seth’s experience, she was really wary about this creature — and rightfully so, because even as an Awakened she wasn’t sure how she would dare against the monster, especially when she had to hold back.

So they had to be surgical. If they could slay the defiled in a swift beat, passing through at once, the charm beast would be provoked but would not act.

Because it would also be wary...

So they had to be prepared. She didn’t want anyone among the group to suddenly lag behind and end up as prey — especially any of the stars.

After drilling them on a formation that assured her, she started the penetration.

And they were as surgical as they were fierce. Everyone’s abilities were utilized to the best of their potential.

With ordinary civilians marching in a straight order under their protection, it wasn’t a chaotic mess, but an arrayed rhythmic march that made every move effective.

They crossed through the corruption zone soon after that, and the sky wasn’t crimson anymore.

Elaine and Trisha smiled. They knew what this meant — the others had arrived and were waiting for them.

They quickly progressed through, and soon enough they came into an urban town where they met Brandon and the other three.

Brandon, as talkative as he was, started narrating tales about their battle with the Bloodborne.

While the others went to rest and digest their gains.

Especially Seth — there was still a notification he hadn’t sorted...

He sat in the room of a building they had chosen to reside in.

Reaching before the bed, Seth paused as he saw a rotting corpse sprawled on it... a child.

He sighed, his mood taking a dip. Using his essence to burn the corpse, taking the ashes to the window, he let them fly with the wind.

’Go... go and be free.’

Only after doing this did he find a corner to sit in a meditative form, his eyes flashing.

[Congratulations on your ascent in racial upgrade to Bronze! You have been rewarded legacy treasure!]

[Legacy Item!: Xenon’s Sphere]

[Details: A small metallic silver sphere, crafted by a being near divinity. It can become any and many items!]

[Warning!: Item grades and rank are predetermined by the wielder!]

Seth’s eyes bulged. The fuck?

This was the most perfect reward he could actually receive. Why was it that he always feared he couldn’t utilize his Absolute Weapon Resonance gene skill to the fullest?

That was because of his current limited access to great amounts of items and weapons.

But this Xenon’s Sphere was the solution to all of this. With his enhancement ability... ’Tsk tsk tsk, I’ll be unstoppable!’

His eyes flashed again...

[Congratulations! You are the first human to undergo racial upgrade. This is a monumental moment for all of humanity, and you have been rewarded unique item!]

[Upgrade Pioneer Booster Shot!: Once injected into the body, racial cells will be stimulated and an upgrade will occur!]

[Warning!: The user has to excavate the full might of their present grade first!]

Seth blinked, unable to believe his eyes...

’Did I just receive another path to a racial upgrade?’ he thought in shock.

Though it was said he had to fully excavate the might of his present grade first, still it meant the moment he was done there would be zero delay in his next racial upgrade.

Not only would the racial skill be bolstered, but he would also gain access to other human wells of power.

Seth licked his lips in anticipation...

Honestly, the more he progressed, the more he was happy that he retreated from the origin realm.

Imagine how strong he was as an early mid-grade Awakened. Even though he was a grade higher, those Treants were of the peak grade.

Not only that, they definitely had racial skills. They might have undergone racial evolutions — who knows how much boost they also got from their class?

The matchup wasn’t even close. Hadn’t he acted as promptly as he did, honestly maybe they would definitely have been captured by those guys.

The thought made his scalp numb. The Awakened rank was so powerful — how about the realm of those beyond?

He shook his head. Now wasn’t the time to think that far. He wasn’t even close to peak Awakened yet!

He still had two classes to pick, and two more gene skills to acquire!

He quickly proceeded to equip the Xenon’s Sphere, as a round, smooth, reflective silver sphere appeared in the air.

It landed in Seth’s palm, and immediately a sharp influx of information surged into his brain.

His gene skill flared, and the information became more detailed and was completely downloaded into his mind.

From this Sphere he could access an infinite archive of weapons and items — but only the ones he scanned.

Though it wasn’t quite what he thought, it was still great. If he could scan a thousand items and another thousand weapons, his versatility in battle would go off the roof.

But therein lay the problem — where would he find that many items and weapons to scan?

’Sigh... let’s just start with what I have first.’

He licked his lips greedily as he tried to scan the Booster Shot. If by any chance he was able to scan it and upgrade it with his enhancement, wouldn’t he be able to gain free access to another racial upgrade?

He rubbed his hands at the thought while scanning the Booster Shot carefully, his heartbeat rising each second.

Until...
