Chapter 142: The Human Tenacity!

"Fuck you! That hurt!" Brandon hissed in pain as he spiraled through the air.

The three Bloodborne dove right after his flailing figure...

He gritted his teeth. "Fuck this! Equip!"

And with a brilliant sheen, an exoskeletal armor crawled across his frame, encasing him in its resplendent hold.

"You think armor will change anything!" A female Bloodborne mocked.

Blood flowed through the air, funneling into their frames, their auras burning brighter.

"Hmph, we’ll s—" Brandon’s words were cut short as he suddenly found himself frozen, as though time itself had halted.

’No, a gene skill,’ he hissed in realization...

The three whipped through the air, chilling grins stretched across their now inhuman lips.

Attacks converged, and by the time Brandon felt the lock vanish, they were already upon him.

A claw tore into his sides, but his genetic armor resisted the shredding force. The blunt impact, however, channeled into his ribs.

A tail whipped against his head, his visor protecting him, but the force still channeled through, blood leaking from his eyes, nose, and ears.

Finally, the last figure barreled down with a devastating axe kick!

Despite the durability of the gene armor, his clavicle shattered — and that was him being lucky; it could have been worse.

Brandon streaked down into the earth uncontrollably, and when momentum died out, he launched himself out of the pit...

Too bad a figure was waiting for him. A punch dug into his chest guards, the metal crumpling from impact.

All the air was forced out of his lungs, his eyes bulging as cracks ran through his rib cage.

A sweet-tasting current washed his mouth as blood welled.

Boom!

Brandon was sent back down deeper, and more damaged.

Never in his life had he been so furious — well, aside from when he was bullied by the undead dominatrix.

Brandon saw red! "Fuck this! You want crazy? I’ll give you crazy!"

Above, the three Bloodborne stalked in silent anticipation, but the figure they anticipated never came.

Instead, the ground slowly welled with heat. A sinister foreboding came over them, but it was too late!

Kaboom!

The earth erupted in flames, sinister embers of blue swallowing them whole.

A figure raced through the flames, a crazed smile stretched across his lips. The impossible happened — flames congealed in his grasp.

His second gene skill, Flame Armament, activated in full power.

At the same time, streaking beside him, a silhouette of a fox — a companion pet finally finding a chance to shine — poured revitalizing flames into its master.

Brandon could craft any type of item with Flame Armament, so naturally he formed two gleaming assault rifles.

Granting them the trait explode on impact, laughing uproariously, lifting both guns akimbo, he fired at his foes with a crazed frenzy.

Being shot wasn’t what dealt the most damage, but the eruptions that followed impact were no joke. With the fox sitting on his shoulder silently enhancing his flame-related abilities...

Plus the genetic armor silently boosting his luck, making each strike a critical hit.

Yeah, the three Bloodborne stood no chance. The tides turned in that instant.

A colossal figure shielded his face, yelling, "Friendly fire! Friendly fire!"

Brandon halted his onslaught, flashing an embarrassed smile. "Ah shit, my bad!"

"Just watch where you point that thing!" Jack warned before getting to his feet and leaping back into his own battle.

As an avid connoisseur of battle, Jack was relishing each second of it.

His mighty frame moved at startling speeds not meant to be possible for his size.

His fists barreled through the air, launching one of his Bloodborne foes straight out of sight.

He widened his other hand and slammed down, sending another sinking into the earth.

Shadow billowed around his frame as the last Bloodborne used the brief window of opportunity, firing a devastating beam at his opponent’s head.

Jack reeled back, the stinging pain lingering but the damage minimal.

His eyes opened and he lunged for the last, his foot bearing down...

The Bloodborne stared at the shadow of the foot that encompassed him. He screamed, fear visceral in his eyes. "VIRDEL, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!"

In that moment, the Bloodborne who had been launched into the horizon returned, grim-faced, his essence churning as he activated his gene skill in fury.

Blood Dissonance!

A rare gene skill that targeted the gene skill of another. As long as your body was composed of at least 4% blood, the skill would be especially effective.

And sadly, humans fell into this category. Worse, their blood percentage ranged from 7–8%. Naturally, Jack’s gene skill dissolved right from his grasp.

The three Bloodborne didn’t waste any time. They converged on Jack, charging various attacks.

Jack’s adrenal glands bled to full power, his racial trait burning... but his gene skill still remained inert.

The attacks of the three drew closer with each breath. The stench of death filled Jack’s lungs, the shadow of the grim reaper hunching over him. He could feel it.

Something in him snapped, as an ethereal force bore down on him. His attributes soared!

Limitless potential!

These words seemed to echo in his being. His genes raveled and unraveled, and right then and there Jack pulled a feat that would put the rest of the cosmos in awe...

He formed his own gene skill!

The complex strands of proteins snapped together, lining of essence igniting, his chest burned...

His eyes burned with crimson lights. Somehow a name rang in his head.

Radiant Valor!

The world went still, and the lights of crimson swallowed all...

A beam of red swallowed his foes, tearing into the distance, swallowing two more Bloodborne facing Uriel...

The sky ruler’s skin tingled at the sight. He sighed in awe. ’I need to awaken a second gene skill.’

With that, he focused back on his remaining foe, the Bloodborne reeling from shock at the sight of Jack’s overwhelming attack.

Naturally, Uriel wouldn’t give up such a chance. His spear burned through the wind, striking against the flesh of the Bloodborne.

The creature gritted her teeth, blood welling from the gaps. She was caught off guard.

Her tail whipped, and Uriel’s figure flashed, evading into the air.

He stared at the skies, pondering. ’Let’s see what this blood thunder can do.’

The Bloodborne seemed to sense something off. Her eyes bulged, and she streaked into the air straight at Uriel.

But how could she be faster than light?

The crimson whirling clouds churned with a palpable aura, but in the end they were part of the sky, so naturally they had to submit!

Crackle! Boom!

The sanguine red lightning streaked from the sky, burrowing into Uriel’s figure. His aura underwent an unsettling change.

A chill ran through the Bloodborne’s spine as a crimson spear suddenly tore down the wind, streaking straight through her figure...
