Chapter 221: Chapter 149: Your Sweetness Comes with Encryption
The movie chosen for the evening ended up being *Interstellar Travel*.
Shen Yuan and Li Zhi had both seen the movie before, so they weren’t exactly buzzing with excitement for the evening study session.
Still, watching a movie was better than studying.
Even top students needed a little room to breathe.
Of course, that wasn’t to say everyone wanted to watch a movie.
Some people simply didn’t want to watch this particular movie, while others simply didn’t want to watch a movie at all.
You’ll find tryhards anywhere you go.
But today, Li Zhi had no intention of becoming a Painful Sacrifice.
It wasn’t that she felt she could afford to skip studying, but because they would turn off the lights for the movie, and studying in the dark would be bad for her eyes.
Before the evening study session began, Shen Yuan walked into the classroom with a spring in his step, carrying a small bag of snacks and a steaming cup of milk tea.
The moment he walked in, he heard Ah Jie’s boisterous voice, which sounded like it could blow the roof off.
"Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go! Five-stacking in the Rift tonight! Let’s show them the square-shaped jungling of a math whiz!" Ah Jie shouted excitedly, his voice echoing through the classroom.
Yang Ze saw this and immediately jumped up, lunging at Ah Jie. "You still want to jungle? You’re gonna damn well play a tank for me!"
Ah Jie was clearly not happy with this arrangement. He retorted, "I’m so damn skinny, how can I play a tank?! If I play a tank, I’ll just be feeding!"
Yang Ze wasn’t buying it. He said firmly, "When we party up, you’re playing a tank! Just stand in the bottom lane and protect the ADC, and you’ll win!"
Despite Ah Jie’s constant protests, the other members of the gaming squad all voiced their support for Yang Ze’s decision. In the end, Ah Jie’s resistance was futile, and he could only yield reluctantly.
Shen Yuan watched this scene and couldn’t help but find it amusing.
After placing the snacks and milk tea on his desk, he turned and went to the front of the classroom to move his books.
The monthly exams had just ended, so everyone needed to retrieve their books and materials. They were also changing seats at the same time, which would save them the trouble of moving after the study session was over.
Li Zhi quickly tidied up her desk, then neatly arranged the snack bags one by one on her desk, creating a mini snack bar.
Meanwhile, the gaming group on the other side was also busy preparing to change seats.
Old Zhou gave the order not to be so rowdy.
Since they couldn’t shout across the room, they decided to change seats to be closer.
"Lao Yuan, can I ask you a favor?" Ah Jie suddenly said to Shen Yuan.
"What’s up?" Shen Yuan looked at Ah Jie suspiciously, wondering what he was up to.
Ah Jie gave a slightly apologetic smile and said carefully, "Could you scoot in a bit? No one else is willing to switch seats."
Shen Yuan: ?
’Seriously, dude? I’m gonna have to call you out on this.’
Shen Yuan said seriously, "Call me ’Dad’."
"Godfather!" Ah Jie didn’t hesitate for a second.
That "Godfather!" was so loud and resonant that it made people turn and stare.
Hearing this cry, the corners of Shen Yuan’s mouth turned up slightly in a smug smile.
Without another word, he immediately shifted his seat a bit closer to Li Zhi.
Seeing Shen Yuan’s movement, Li Zhi’s brows furrowed. She asked, displeased, "What are you doing?"
"Let’s squeeze in a bit. All your stuff is on your side anyway," Shen Yuan replied with a grin.
Li Zhi shot Shen Yuan an annoyed glare but still helplessly moved her own seat all the way to the wall, making enough space for him.
Since there was still a gap of about two fists’ width between the seat and the wall, if Li Zhi sat against the wall, squeezing four people into three seats was no problem at all.
It was the same situation in the front row.
He Zhiyu was also sitting against the wall.
Shen Yuan was angled into Li Zhi’s space, with only half of his body in his own seat.
And Li Zhi, just like He Zhiyu, was leaning directly against the wall.
The beautiful girl’s pair of long, slender legs were pressed together under the desk, a hair’s breadth from Shen Yuan’s right leg. With the slightest movement, his leg would touch hers.
It was just a shame that the beautiful girl was wearing school uniform pants.
’Emmm... Then again, maybe that’s not so bad.’
Shen Yuan seemed to notice this subtle proximity. The corners of his lips curved up into a barely perceptible smile.
He casually picked up the milk tea from the desk, held it up in front of Li Zhi, and gestured playfully at her, as if inviting her to a "cheers."
Seeing the milk tea in Shen Yuan’s hand, Li Zhi picked up her own.
She gripped the cool cup of milk tea, her thumb and forefinger wrapped around its middle, and touched the rims of the two condensation-beaded plastic cups together in mid-air.
"Cheers."
He Zhiyu held her own small water cup, feeling a bit out of place.
But soon, she saw Li Zhi’s hand reaching through the gap between the desk and the wall, holding the milk tea.
He Zhiyu happily clinked her water cup against Li Zhi’s.
The trio soon heard Ah Jie’s voice urging Yang Ze and the others to log in.
Before the evening study session started, the class monitor had already set up the multimedia equipment.
As the movie began to play, the classroom lights dimmed.
The classroom was plunged into a blue-tinged darkness, with only the projector’s beam dancing on the wall.
A vast, green cornfield appeared on the screen.
Shen Yuan relaxed, propping himself up on the desk, and started watching the movie.
Li Zhi was curled up in the corner, completely unbothered by her school uniform rubbing against the dusty wall.
In the flickering light of the projector, the snacks between the two of them slowly disappeared, in time with the rustling rhythm of the cornfield in the movie.
