Chapter 192: Chapter 139: Shen Yuan’s Two Love Letters (Part 2)
"No, wait, girl. If you put it that way, does that mean I’m just going to be coasting through school from now on? And then just... coast my way to a 680?"
Li Zhi nodded. "Yup. Is there a problem with that?"
Shen Yuan gave a helpless laugh. "Your way of thinking is pretty cute."
"Of course it is!" Li Zhi lifted her chin slightly.
Just then, Li Zhi saw Shen Yuan point at her hand.
"Your cute ice cream is about to melt."
"CRAP! You dumbass, Shen Yuan, why didn’t you say so sooner? No, no, I have to go put it in the freezer."
Li Zhi spun around and hurried toward the kitchen.
As for Shen Yuan, he just chuckled, opened the lid of his own ice cream, and started eating.
A little melting on the surface wasn’t a problem. He just quickly slurped up the melted, sugary liquid, and the inside was still nice and cold.
Still perfectly edible.
Li Zhi hadn’t closed the door when she went to put away her ice cream, so Shen Yuan ambled inside.
After the beautiful girl finished putting her things away, she suddenly realized there was an extra person in the house.
"Hey, wait, what are you doing in here?" The beautiful girl’s tone was a mix of surprise and annoyance.
Shen Yuan blinked, putting on an innocent expression. "Are you going to kick me out?"
Hearing this, Li Zhi took a deep breath and cursed, "What the hell? Why are you being so coy?"
Shen Yuan put his hands on his hips and said confidently, "You call this coy? I haven’t even shown you my real skills yet!"
Hearing this, Li Zhi was momentarily speechless. She shook her head helplessly. ’Whatever, do what you want,’ she thought. ’I’m just going to go play some games.’
The computers in Li Zhi’s house were all in the study, and there were three of them in the one room.
Shen Yuan followed Li Zhi into the study.
But when he walked in, he saw Old Li was in there too.
Shen Yuan immediately felt like backing out. He hesitated, unsure if he should go in.
Old Li heard the noise and turned to glance at Li Zhi, then at Shen Yuan standing in the doorway.
"Oh, Shen Yuan. Make yourself at home."
Old Li greeted him casually before turning back to his chess game, showing no intention of chatting with Shen Yuan.
Seeing this, Shen Yuan had no choice but to bite the bullet and enter the study, sidling up next to Li Zhi.
Li Zhi was playing Oxygen Not Included. Shen Yuan owned the game too; he’d bought it back when he used to play with her.
But Shen Yuan could never figure it out.
Li Zhi’s evaluation of him was that he was a dumbass who couldn’t even figure out the water cycle.
Shen Yuan watched Li Zhi rapidly issue commands, not understanding any of it. He lowered his head and started playing Honor of Kings instead.
Hearing that familiar "Timi," Li Zhi turned her head to look at Shen Yuan.
Shen Yuan, who was about to log into the game, saw the beautiful girl’s death glare and immediately asked with a sheepish grin, "Want to play together?"
"No way. You didn’t even ask me!" Li Zhi turned her head back to her computer.
"Come on, let’s play together! I’ll be your support. I’m a beast at support."
Hearing Shen Yuan’s words, Li Zhi snorted, picked up her phone, and threatened, "If you let me die even once, I’ll beat you up."
"Don’t worry. My Taiyi is super reliable."
Nearby, Old Li, who was playing chess, listened to their conversation with a slight smile.
Then, his hand twitched.
"CRAP! I rerolled an extra time!"
For the rest of the game, Old Li either rerolled too quickly, leveled up an extra time, or forgot to place his units on the board.
All in all, Old Li was making a lot of mistakes.
But Old Li couldn’t say a thing.
Because every time he messed up, it was when Li Zhi was yelling at Shen Yuan.
During the match, Old Li glanced at Shen Yuan out of boredom.
He saw Shen Yuan with his head down, concentrating intently on his phone. It was clear he was under a lot of pressure.
For a moment, Old Li felt a little sorry for the kid.
"Shen Yuan, are you staying for dinner tonight?"
Shen Yuan shook his head repeatedly. "I haven’t eaten at my own home yet today, so I won’t stay."
Old Li nodded. "It’s about that time. You should head back early and give your mom a hand. I seem to remember you know how to cook, right?"
"I can only make braised pork. Everything else is pretty average."
"That’s good enough."
Old Li said, as if by accident, "You know, Li Zhi really likes the braised pork your mom makes."
"Dad! What are you talking about!" Li Zhi looked at Old Li, displeased.
Old Li was taken aback by Li Zhi’s reaction and quickly said, "I didn’t say anything, did I?"
"You’d better not have!"
Seeing Li Zhi’s reaction, Old Li subconsciously looked at Shen Yuan, trying to get some information out of him.
But when Old Li’s gaze fell on Shen Yuan, he just saw the boy with his head lowered, looking completely downtrodden.
’Forget it. Can’t count on this dumbass kid,’ Old Li thought.
Old Li shook his head and went back to his game.
As for Shen Yuan, after hearing what Old Li said, he played a few more rounds and then took off.
If he stayed any longer, he’d probably get beaten to death by Li Zhi.
Li Zhi walked Shen Yuan to the door, her face still showing the disdain from their loss in the game.
The beautiful girl leaned one hand against the doorframe, the corner of her mouth lifting in a scornful smile. "You noob. I can’t believe I wasted my trust on you."
Hearing this, Shen Yuan’s eyes widened. He pointed at himself in utter disbelief, as if he’d just heard the most ridiculous thing in the world.
He retorted loudly, "Me, a noob? You’re calling *me* a noob?"
Li Zhi watched his reaction and continued, "So, what you’re saying is that you think *I’m* the noob."
At her words, Shen Yuan’s look of disbelief vanished in a couple of chuckles, and he quickly went along with her.
"I’m the noob, I’m the noob. Next time, let’s play a round of It Takes Two. I’ll play the girl, you play the guy."
Hearing this suggestion, Li Zhi’s eyes lit up. "I think that’s a great idea. But let’s wait until after the monthly exams."
